stuff...

1. With a little more than two weeks until my due date, I am feeling very uncomfortable and ready to meet my baby boy. So far, I haven't made any progress (no dilation or effacement), but he is head down. I go back to the doctor on Friday.
2. Momma got a J-O-B! I have previously mentioned that we planned for me to go back to teaching in the fall. I have accepted a position teaching fourth grade language arts. I fell in love with the staff that I met, the campus, my new team, and pretty much everything I learned about the school. I'm so glad to only be teaching language arts - I've always taught EVERYTHING! It is such a relief to have this taken care of before the baby is born. I really am excited about it!
3. Bailey has a new phrase that she uses all the time. "I can't want to" or "I can't like like." She is obviously using the word can't for don't. It's pretty cute.
4. She has fallen in love with all things Cinderella. She watches at least part of the movie almost every day. (Remember, the child doesn't nap so we have to have some down time!) She also has to wear her princess dress and shoes while watching the movie.
5. My oven is broken. Someone is coming today to fix it. I have been craving cupcakes since I watched last week's Ugly Betty episode (it was Betty's birthday and her dad made her cupcakes.) Saturday night, I finally caved and bought strawberry cake mix and icing and started making my cupcakes. But they never came to be because the oven didn't work. I was bummed.

That's all I've got for now...

Sealy Shower

We had our third and final shower last weekend, given by our church. All of the decorations were made with baby stuff that we'll be able to use for Campbell and his room. We were given TONS of stuff - we are overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and generosity of our church family. We love FBC Sealy!

Look at those tiny camo crocs! And yes, I wore the same outfit as I did to the last shower - don't judge.

Diaper Shower

On Saturday, my good friend Julie and her mom hosted a diaper shower for me and baby Campbell! Everything was decorated in brown and blue and the food was oh so yummy! We were given some great things for Campbell including lots of diapers in every size. It will be so nice to not have to buy those for a while!!!

why my daughter wouldn't come to dinner

One night last week Bailey was playing in her room while I was making dinner. When it was ready I called her to come eat. She poked her head out of her room and said, "I building my books," and continued to do whatever it was she was doing. I called for her several times and every time I got the same response. Finally, I went to her room and this is what I found:

She took ALL of her books off of her shelf and "built" a tall stack with them. She was so proud of her handiwork!

What a Weekend!

We were busy bees this weekend! Our church sponsored a garage sale to benefit the youth going to camp so we spent Friday evening sorting and pricing all the donations. We all went to bed late and then got up early Saturday morning to work the garage sale. Bailey had a great time playing and helping take care of our friend's three week old baby. She is getting ready for her role as big sister. All of our hard work paid off and the youth raised over $1000 in just a few hours!

Saturday evening we met our good friends, The Ferrell's, for dinner in Katy. We went to Clay's Restaurant which has lots of animals and a great sandbox for the kids. The weather was beautiful so we ate outside and let the kids play. Bailey and Paisley had a great time! We can't wait to see them again.

Funny story: After dinner we went to a custard place for the most yummy, creamy ice cream I've ever tasted! We asked Bailey who her mom is and she said Jenn. We asked her who her dad is and she said Judd. We asked her what her name is and she said, "I Dr. Fox." I don't know where she got that! I can't think of a book or TV show that she has seen that has a Dr. Fox. She said it over and over with a serious face. Later, we asked Paisley what her name is and Bailey said, "She Dr. Fox too." Again, serious as she could be. It was hilarious!

Peacocks came right up to our table!

Frightening

I used to be a big Oprah fan. I DVR'd it everyday because I found the topics of her show inspiring. Now what I am seeing frightens me. Just today she had a transgendered man who is six months pregnant on the show.

Oprah has recently announced "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle as the latest book in her book club. Tolle believes that "God is a feeling experience, not a believing experience" and "if God is still about a belief, it's not truly God." WHAT?!?!?!? The book's subtitle "Awakening to Your Life's Purpose" has been compared to Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven Life." Yikes. Apparently, A LOT of people have bought this book and are tuning in to online sessions with Oprah and Tolle. It's scary that one woman's blessing (on the book) has such an impact. Our GOD is bigger than Oprah, Tolle, and this book, and I have faith that HE will make himself known. You have to watch the video below. It's kind of lengthy, but worth it.

next time won't you sing with me...

This is my first attempt at uploading a video...it took me forever to figure it out!

Here is Bailey singing her ABC's. The "l-m-n-o-p" is a bit questionable, but you get the idea. We are so proud of her!
