Our Week and Weekend

It's been quite a week at the Cochran household. Bailey woke up Tuesday night with a 102.6 fever. After loading her up with Motrin she got in bed and slept the rest of the night with Mom. Judd had two meetings that he couldn't cancel at the last minute so I stayed home with her on Wednesday. She spent most of the morning throwing up and sleeping. She eventually moved to the couch, watched TV, and drank some Gatorade. At 2:00 her fever spiked to 103 so we headed to the pediatrician. We left with a strep throat diagnosis and a prescription for antibiotics. We Chlorox'd and Lysol'd the house from top to bottom in attempt to stop the spread of the yucky sickly germs. Judd stayed home with Bailey on Thursday as she returned to her old self. She went back to school on Friday and we thought we were in the clear.

That is until Campbell got home on Friday afternoon and had a fever of 102. Of course it was after hours. And of course it was the weekend. I called and left a message on our pediatrician's office phone at 5:45 and within ten minutes, the doctor herself called us back. She is truly amazing! We love Dr. K. She called in an antibiotic for Campbell as well. He rested a lot on Saturday and is back in business today.

Yesterday, we had planned on going to my school's annual fundraiser event. It's a pretty big deal. They have huge inflatables for the kids, kiddie games, face painting, balloons, dinner, silent auction, live auction, and raffles. Last year, at this event the school raised over $80,000. Like I said, it's a big deal. With Campbell still needing his rest and not being fever-free for 24 hours (I'm a stickler for that rule), Judd stayed home with him while Bailey and I went to my school. She had a BLAST and didn't want to leave!
I couldn't even tell you how many times
she climbed up that thing!

My teacher-friend Rachel and I - she taught in the same district as I did in San Antonio and we have mutual friends there. We instantly clicked and have been great friends since we met!
And she's have a baby BOY in August!!!

Every class did a pottery project to be auctioned off. Mine says "Mrs. Cochran's Wise Owls." Each student drew their own owl and my homeroom mom traced them with carbon paper onto the bowl. She did a great job!

It's beginning to look like SPRING!

The weather has been beautiful so we have been taking advantage of it by playing outside and taking walks in the neighborhood.  Bailey loves to play outside in her sandbox.  Thank you Nonnie for the pink and blue sand.  This was Campbell's first time to play with it.  He didn't even try to eat it!

Spaghetti has always been a hit at our house. Now Campbell is joining in on the fun!

This is good stuff.

Reminiscing ...

As Campbell's first birthday approaches, I have found myself in birthday-party-planning-mode. The other night I dreamt of cupcakes. Seriously. I've also been thinking about my first baby's first birthday. Since I wasn't a blogger then, I thought I'd post a few (ok, a lot) of pictures from Bailey Kaye's first birthday.

Spring Break - Sea World

On Day 2 of our San Antonio Vacation, we visited Sea World. It was CROWDED and even though it only got up to 85 degrees, it was hot. I'm not ready for the heat of the summer yet. Both kids were great all day! Bailey got to ride the Shamu Express - a kiddie roller coaster. The line was really long and it was hot so I kept asking her if she wanted to go do something else. She said, "Yes, after I ride Shamu!" Later we walked by the Steel Eel, which is a very large steel roller coaster and Bailey wanted so badly to ride it. She is going to be one of those fearless kids who will ride anything. I love it! Here are some pics from our day at Sea World.

We went to see the Clydesdale horses.

By the way, we looove our Joovy Caboose -
it's perfect for Bailey to sit or stand.
