Spring Break

We had a low key Spring Break this year, but enjoyed every minute of it. I already posted about Saturday. Here's a run-down of the rest of the week:

Sunday - Judd was sick so the kids and I went to church, came home and ate lunch, took naps, then went back to church. Judd started feeling better on Sunday afternoon.

Monday - It was BEAUTIFUL outside so we spent the morning walking/riding around the neighborhood. Bailey rode her bike. Campbell refused to ride in the wagon so he walked with me. Then they took the Monster Truck out for a spin. We came in for lunch, Bailey watched TV while Campbell took a nap, then we spent the rest of the afternoon in the backyard. Campbell can climb up the ladder by himself and Bailey taught him how to climb UP the slide! They spent plenty of time on the swings too. When Daddy got home he stayed out with them while I cooked dinner and then we ate on the patio and the kids played some more until we made them come in for baths.

Tuesday - It rained most of the day so we had to stay inside. I spent the morning cleaning up the house and doing laundry because Nonnie and Bubba were coming that afternoon! While waiting for them to arrive, Bailey said, "They are taking forever!" We ate dinner at a new restaurant in town called Oathie's - very good food and fun atmosphere.

Wednesday - Judd and I went to Austin for a St. Patty's Day wedding. Judd performed the ceremony. We had a great time with good friends. Bailey and Campbell hung out with Nonnie and Bubba and spent most of the day outside.

Thursday - The kids and I started playing out front, but neither one of them wanted to play with any of the ride-on toys so we went to the backyard. I am so thankful for our swing set. It keeps them occupied for hours! They played until lunchtime and we even ate outside. After Cam took a nap we went to the park to play. It was our first trip since last fall. Campbell was scared of everything, even the swings! He finally warmed up and played on the big playground with sister. He even went down the slide with her. He never warmed up to the smaller playground though.

Friday - Judd had the day off so we all had a lazy morning inside. Around lunchtime, the kids went outside with Judd while I made lunch. Bailey insisted on eating outside. After Cam's nap we played outside again. Then we decided to go to Katy for dinner and look for Bailey an Easter dress. We ended up getting her a dress at Old Navy for $10.00 (normally $20) and I got two summer dresses for $6.87 a piece (normally $19.50.) Everything was one sale AND I had a 30% off coupon. Can't beat that!

Saturday - A cold front and rain arrived dropping temperatures into the 30s and 40s. Therefore, we stayed inside all day. Bailey said, "Why did God make it cold again? I thought it was Spring!" My thoughts exactly! We enjoyed our week off. It was definitely one where we enjoyed each other and got lots of rest. Did I mention that Campbell slept until 8:00 and Bailey slept until 9:30 almost every day of SB? They are going to have a hard time getting up for school next week!

Saturday

We started our Spring Break off with a bang! We headed to Houston on Saturday morning for a birthday party. My friend Julie's little girls turn 3 and 1 this month so they had a double princess party for them! The kids had so much fun!

They had a face painter so Bailey got a bunny rabbit on her cheek!

After the party we went to Berryhill for lunch. They have the best fish tacos ever. I find myself craving them! After we ate we went outside to check out the fountains. Of course, I had to take advantage of this photo op.

When we got home from lunch we all rested for a little bit then got ready for Emily's wedding. Emily goes to our church and has three sisters. We all love this family, especially Bailey! The only picture I took was one of Bailey and Anna (one of Emily's sisters and Bailey's favorite person ever.) The picture below I stole from facebook. The wedding was beautiful and sweet. We had to leave the reception early though because Judd wasn't feeling well. Bailey wanted to know why we were skipping the cake. I told her that Daddy was sick and that we could make cupcakes at home. Her response, "No, I want THAT cake!"

Praying for the Brewers

Please join me in praying for the Brewer family. (Kim Brewer is my good friend Julie's sister.) Their precious twins, Karsyn Jane and Kaden James, were born last Wednesday at 24 weeks. They are facing a long NICU stay and both have already undergone surgery. They are little fighters, but need to be lifted up in prayer. You can follow their journey and learn how to specifically lift them up on Kim's blog.

Day Out With Thomas

This weekend we traveled to the Grapevine Vintage Railroad to see Thomas! The kids were so excited to see the REAL Thomas! There was so much to do before we boarded the train. We all had a blast!
