Now without giving away anything I think that this expansion we are going to get to see plenty about Sylvanas, and we are seeing Nathanos Blightcaller in action again, we also see a return of Lilian Voss (Pictured above) who has been popping up since the Cataclysm Expansion. With the latest Warcraft Novel we are also getting more on Alonsus Foal, who was a major lore figure that reappeared in legion in the priest hall. So for the undead we are finally seeing some much needed character developments.

I just wish we would see more development on some of the lesser characters that have been around a while and deserve a bit more . There are some that could even open up new roads for possible (but unlikely) game play with the forsaken in future , like …

Every expansion, and sometimes even patch to patch we seem to have an overhaul of what we are or are not allowed to do with our classes. Spells come and go, and sometimes return in weird and infuriating ways. While I can appreciate that certain spells require returning and how our talent system needed an overhaul because it wasn’t very clear to newcomers, I feel at times like we are sacrificing options on play style and the ability to do some truly creatively complex things for the sake of making everything easy for new players or those that do nothing but hop classes.

 … Meh! At least that was my original thought. But give me this – I was doped up to my eyeballs on pain-killers, morphine, and a host of other drugs to stop me screaming in agony. As someone who mains Horde, but plays both sides, I have never had an overwhelming response to the faction war, especially when Blizzard always seems to have such a huge Alliance Bias, and when the news of Battle for Azeroth broke, my drugged mind was like baaaah, big deal elf stabbin elf, human stabbion orc, nothin new to see here.

With Sunday morning came a bit more actual alertness and I managed to really look at what had been announced with cleared eyes.  While I was still a bit meh on the whole war thing, the thought of the incipient arrival of the Zandalari, finally taking on Azshara, of a renewed look a scenarios .. these were enough to perk up my interest and after review give at least a nod of approval to what seems to be coming post legion … Read the rest of this entry »

As some of you may (or probably don’t) know, the Guild I am in turned Ten back on the 11th August, and surprisingly most of those I play with even today have been around with us for 7 or more of those years, with a few like myself dating waaaaay back to when the guild initially formed. The Northern Dragons have been a home away from home for all but about 8 days of my total wow lifetime (those days being the ones where I levelled in Mulgore before braving the Barrens), and I have to admit I regret none of it, and can candidly state that I probably still wouldn’t be playing if it wasn’t for the people I played with.

After 6 Expansions, 7 Guild Meets, 2 Deaths of players, lord knows how many great nights raiding, plus endless frustration, its been playing this game with great people (and a few not so great) not just from around Australia and New Zealand but as far away as New York, Montana, California, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Europe that has made this about the only game with I have ever stuck with for more than a month at a time let alone over 10 years!

So to those that were there are the start, those that have joined recently, and those that have stayed with us all the way through … congratulations on 10 great years!

I have been meaning to do this for a while now and kept putting it aside for other more important things, like trying to finish off transmog sets, or getting the next Emissary Quest done. Nevertheless Here it is, my review on the ups and downs of Legion to date .. things I liked, things I didn’t and things I think needed tweaking.
