William is just beginning to learn how to read. He is certainly only in the beginning stages, but it's so much fun to see it all coming together. He is taking a reading class at the public library (FREE!) once a week. He is really soaking it all up and we are very excited! I hope he is developing a love for reading!!!!
Halloween 2011
This year for Halloween, we had Batman, Buzz Lightyear, and a ladybug. Ava would not wear the cute hat, but she was still adorable. Our friends, Jack, Kimberly, Henry, and Harrison, came to trick or treat with us. Henry and William were both Batman and Harrison was a cute little monkey. Lots of candy and fun times with friends!
Scarecrow Day
I just had to share this. William's preschool had "scarecrow day" recently. I didn't really plan for this costume. At all. So, the day before, I pulled out some overalls, and we borrowed the straw hat from Papa. Well, when he got dressed that morning, I realized that he really just looked like a farmer, not a scarecrow. I was a bit disappointed, but he was so excited! I guess I should have hot glued some straw to his overalls and shirt cuffs, but I just didn't take the time to go all out on the costume.
I walked him into class that morning to take pictures and let me tell you, I saw some of the cutest scarecrows EVER!!!! Such creative moms! I laughed at sweet William, just happy as could be in his farmer get-up! I will do better next time, buddy!

Disney World
We left the pumpkin patch field trip and headed straight to Birmingham for our big vacation to Disney World. We wanted to go before Edward turned three so his park tickets/meals would be free. We had a great time, but I will say we should have left Ava at home. We had such LONG days and she was not very happy most of the time. Not so magical for her.....We did the best we could with three very young kids. The boys had a great time and I'm sure we will go back when they are older. We came back completely exhausted! William's favorite Disney moment was being painted like a pirate. He looked super creepy but he loved it! Edward liked the Peter Pan ride. Ava, well, let's see.... she kind of liked It's a Small World. That's about all she liked to be honest. The fireworks scared her out of her skin. Oh, and they do them every night. for a long time. Bless her. She would grab me and just shake through the entire show.
October is a great time to go. Cooler temps and the Halloween Party was very cool.

Soccer!
Favorite Time of Year!
We love fall! This past weekend, we headed to Oktoberfest and the pumpkin patch, both in St. Florian. The kids had a great time picking out pumpkins and jumping on jumpees. Ava was asleep when we pulled up the pumpkin patch, so she stayed in the car--her brothers picked out a pumpkin for her! We finished the afternoon at the Drink Box for milkshakes. Yumm-o.
