Christmas in Huntsville

I had a wonderful time visiting John in Huntsville over the Christmas break. I got to see where he works at the arsenal, we talked wedding plans, did the first session of our pre-marital counseling, ate yummy food, saw the Blind Side, and celebrated Christmas! It was so fun opening presents with John David and Hudson! They were so excited!!
John got me a North Face jacket. I got him some Under Armour sneakers and some Nike Alabama gear



Now I am back in Charlotte to celebrate Christmas with my family and then head to Florida to visit my grandma & grandpa!

Thanksgiving

John and I were not together this year for Thanksgiving...but we each had a fun time with our families, and look forward to being together next year!!

My family went to my Aunt Laurie's house who lives in Greenville, NC. She is working on her Doctorate at ECU. We had a yummy lunch on Thanksgiving, and had fun shopping on Black Friday!



My Black Friday shopping consisted of getting 2 seasons of The Office at Target, then hitting up some outlet malls near my Aunt's house...found a few good deals there- got a pair of crocs for 7 bucks! I also got some Christmas shopping done! It was a great Holiday weekend! I am not looking forward to these last few weeks of school, which will consist of one final, one paper, one anotated bibliography, and juries...but I am looking forward to my church's Contemporary Christmas Music Night called Glorious..which is one week from tonight!!

YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY...

I never knew that Gatorade was actually created by scientists at the University of Florida for their student athletes who were fatigued. Never new that was why it is called "Gator" ade...This youtube video told me the story....

USC-FLORIDA GAME

I was so excited John could come up this past weekend for the USC-Florida game!! We had such a fun weekend! We drove up to Charlotte on Thursday, and went to Dan's (John's Cousin) CD release concert at UNCC. We went to dinner with Jon and Jenna Rouleau before and to the concert with them...it was so good to see them!! The next morning we did some wedding stuff in town, and then headed back to Columbia, because I had to go to a Pippa concert for one of my theory classes--this was the weekend highligh for John...ha JK.

I took John to a fun place after the concert called Cupcake. It is so good. They have every kind of cupcake imaginable!! We got oreo and turtle. You can check out the rest of their flavors HERE


Saturday we headed to the tailgate my church does, and then to the game! I was so proud of South Carolina--they played really well! The atmosphere was so great...this was probably my favorite USC game EVER and I'm so glad John was there with me! We honored the military at this game and had an awesome half-time show with a fly-over!
The students get a stamp to be able to get in to the student section...so right after I got mine stamped, I pressed it on John's--it came out pretty well :)

In other news--we are so thankful for the Lord's provision in John's job. He started Thursday!

Fun time in Bama

This weekend BAMA played South Carolina :)) Alabama won...but it was a good game. John and I went to the game with the Zellar's and had a great time!

The weather was COLD, but we dressed warmly.

Before we went to the game, we were able to watch the Liberty game on TV!! We saw Kyle and Ryan play!! That was so much fun!
John's church, West Huntsville Baptist, had its 110th anniversary on Sunday. They celebrated this by having a missions conference. The service was awesome. It was so neat to hear the stories of these servants of the Lord around the world. The Lord was truly glorified and worshiped in that service.

Fall Break!

I had such an awesome fall break! It was so nice to have a break from school...and I was so glad that John got to come to Charlotte and spend the weekend with me!! It went by so fast, but it was extremely fun and extremely BUSY!! Wednesday night, John and Lindsey drove in from Liberty/Greensboro. That night, John and I joined the world of twitter....haha. You can follow us HERE. Thursday, I did wedding planning all day with Mrs. Brighton and my mom, and John helped my dad by pressure washing around the house :) He borrowed work clothes from my dad...haha.

That night, I went to my friend Holly's lingerie shower...and I had fun riding with Meagan.
After the shower I hurried home to watch THE OFFICE WEDDING!!!

I was so excited...I have been waiting for them to get married for 3 years and I love the twist on that youtube video :)
On Friday...John took me out on a lunch date to On The Border...I LOVE THAT PLACE!! We ran some errands, and then headed to Holly and Sumner's rehearsal dinner (I played the piano and sang in the wedding). The dinner was at P.F. Changs, and we really enjoyed it! We were able to try alot of different stuff that we liked. The next morning, my mom and I ventured to Asheville to a clearance sale they were having at J Crew....we woke up at 5:30, and got there early to stand in line! It was WELL worth the trip...my favorite purchases have to be THIS COAT for $30 and THIS CARDIGAN for $5. While we were busy doing that, John went and helped out ADAM at their new house! My mom and I got back in to town just in time for the Alabama - Ole Miss game...ROLL TIDE 6-0! Then we headed to Holly and Sumner's wedding, which was beautiful!!

After that, we went to Michael and Brittany's new apartment and watched the end of the LSU/Florida game. The next morning at church, I ran in to my very FIRST voice teacher, Mrs. Hiltibidal! It was such a surprise to see her and so cool because I happened to be singing that morning! I was so glad to see her! Then, John and I headed to the PANTHER GAME!!! I was so excited about this..Adam hooked up us with some tickets, and we had so much fun! Especially since we won!!!


After the game, we went to the Renstrom's and ate dinner with some Liberty girls on their way back to Lynchburg...and then we stopped at cookout and said hey to Brock and Ryan. Then we headed home to watch The Amazing Race!!! What a fun break!!

Alabama Weekend!!

I had such a wonderful time visiting John this weekend in Alabama!! I was able to ride down the The Renstrom's and their friend Sarah! We arrived in Huntsville on Friday night and went to Seth's football game! They won!


The next morning, Seth's picture was in the paper!!

That night after the game, we headed to Tuscaloosa. It rained twice before the game, but after that, the weather was great!

We got a good spot for the walk of champions!



ROLL TIDE!!! 4-0!!

I enjoyed going to church on Sunday, and as always, the YUMMY southern cooking! Love and miss you guys!!

Best Friend's Wedding Weekend

We had such a wonderful time this weekend celebrating with Michael and Brittany at their wedding!! It was such a beautiful and sweet ceremony. We had such a fun time at the rehearsal dinner at a yummy Italian restaurant called Bravo. The reception was held at the Embassy Suites. It was awesome!! They left Sunday for a honeymoon in Mexico, and I can't wait to see them when they get back! Here are a few pics from the weekend.











Right after the wedding, we headed to LU and got there during the 2nd quarter of the football game. LU Won :)



Sunday night, we all went to Waterstone pizza. It was so fun to hang out with them again!!



Sunday afternoon, we had our engagement pictures taken!! I am sooo excited to get them!!! It was so much fun! I'll be posting those on here soon!!

INSPIRING

I LOVE a great sports story. I'm LOVING this one. Melanie Oudin. The 17 yr old young tennis player from Georgia. She has emerged as a star after knocking out tennis stars in the rounds of the US Open. Here is a video of her upsetting 4th seceded Sharapova.
