Kinsler's Room

I am so happy to say that Kinsler's room is complete (except for a clock and trash can)!!!  I can now relax and start the new school year and not stress that it isn't finished.  :)  I have been talking for probably a year now (or longer) about the next baby's nursery.  I have always loved monkeys!!!  I thought what a better way than to bring in sock monkeys for baby's nursery.  I love that they are a classic and the colors!!

I searched high and low for the perfect bedding, but couldn't find exactly what I wanted.  So, I asked my mom if she would help me make the bedding.  I found all of the materials needed and fabrics for the bedding.  Mom came to my house for a week where we worked on the bedding.  I LOVE how it turned out!!!

Etsy has been my favorite go to place for ideas for the room.  I found this wooden sock monkey wall  decal that I loved, but didn't like the price.  I showed my mom what I wanted and she made it for me.  It looks better than what Etsy had!!!  I also found some vinyl lettering for above the bed!!

Chuck and I finished up the room today by hanging the wooden decal and vinyl lettering.  I know Kinsler probably won't care what his room looks like, but I love it!!  I walk up the stairs and just stare at his room and picture what he will look like (secretly wishing he was here right now!!).

Enjoy the pictures!!! (if somebody knows how to get these pictures side by side without wasting space, please let me know.)

So, what have we been up to??

I am going to start way back in October where I officially left off.
October:
  • Shortly after Rainey turned 4, we found out another Johnson was on the way!!  However, a couple weeks after finding #3 was on the way, we had a miscarriage.  Everything up until January is more of a blur for me as I was heartbroken and sad.
November:
  • We went to watch the Aggies play Kansas.
  • We attended our annual Family Reunion.
  • Helped my sister celebrate her birthday.
  • Enjoyed some great food during Thanksgiving.
December:
  • Wrapped up the first semester of teaching Kindergarten.
  • Lots of shopping and making Christmas crafts.
  • Celebrated Christmas!!
January:
  • Celebrated my father-in-law's birthday.
  • Found out we were expecting again!!  Talk about emotional, nervous, and excited all at the same time!!
February:
  • Celebrated Chandler's birthday and my brother-in-law's birthday.
  • Welcomed a niece into the world.
  • Revealed to our families that we were expecting again!!
March:
  • Took a trip to San Antonio with the kiddos for Spring break.  We took them to the Riverwalk, took a boat tour, spent the day at SeaWorld, and went to the Alamo.  While we were down south, we visited my grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousins who we hadn't seen in a while.
April:
  • Celebrated Easter!!
May:
  • Found out the gender of our new bundle of joy and had a gender reveal party.
  • We found out we were having a boy.  Poor Rainey is the monkey girl in the middle!!
June:
  • My first year of teaching Kindergarten ended.  I loved it, but was not sad to see the end of the year arrive.
  • I think the kids spent most of their time being away from our house this month!!
  • Celebrated my mom's and mother-in-law's birthdays.
  • Celebrated my parent's anniversary.
  • Attended several Rangers games!!!
  • At one Ranger game we decided to reveal to our families baby boy's name.  I was on the hunt throughout the stadium for a onesie with the name on it.  After going to center field and the kid zone shop, I found the onesie: Kinsler!!  Now baby is officially named: Kinsler Reed Johnson!!
July:
  • Lots of traveling and spending time in the pool as the temperature rose.
  • Celebrated my dad's birthday, my birthday, and my brother-in-law's birthday!!
  • My nephew, Harrison, turned 1.
  • My mom spent over a week helping make Kinsler's bedding.
  • Started my two week visits to the doctor!!!  We are so close now!!

All I can say is....Wow!!

My last post was in May, but I was so frustrated with the new layout and how everything worked on the dashboard that I completely gave up and decided at some point during the summer I will try again.  I decided today was going to be the day.  After an hour and some almost shed tears, I finally uploaded my new background.  Then I decided to make a new post.  Then came some more frustration because I couldn't figure out how to make a new post.  Needless to say, I finally found it and now you can read a boring post from a frustrated pregnant lady!!

Frustrated

Well, I was going to finally change my blog background from Christmas to summer.  However, the silly blog is acting up and won't let me change to this cute one that I found.  I guess I will try again tomorrow!!

On a side note, I was also going to update so that when my kids are able to read this later on in life, they would know what has happened in the last 5 months.  I will just wait until tomorrow!!  Sorry kiddos, just check Granna's blog!!!
