...and a baby makes three

I finally have something blogworthy to post. Baby Nielson is expected to arrive November 29, although if I have anything to say about it, it will be sooner. I need to teach my baby obedience early, right?

I know it's cliche to post about pregnancy, and add a ticker, and all that...but I don't care! I'm going to be a mommy! So please excuse the needless updates, tickers galore, and perhaps a baby bump picture or two that will appear in the next since months after which this entire blog will be consumed by needless yet adorable baby updates.

WOOO HOOOO!!!

Welp...

our blog is a bust. I guess I'll stop making empty promises to blog because CLEARLY it's not a strength.

SOOOOO until I get an itch to blog, let me direct you to some of my favorite blogs to read.

seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com--hilarious

ihategreenbeans.blogspot.com--for those of you who love the bachelor.

Know that we are happy and healthy. Still waiting to hear from medical schools and starting to feel pretty anxious. Other than that, life is the same. Thanks for reading, Brian.

A Thought and a Reassurance

First a reassurance. I'm sure all 4 readers of our blog were starting to worry that we had gone blog haywire again and you wouldn't hear from us for another several months. Nay, not so. I actually have several posts in the works and several more brewing in my head...I just haven't been able to get anything in a publishable form. Also, Jonathan sometimes threatens to post on the blog but thus far has not taken the initiative.

I guess I realized that I needed to post when I started to get frustrated that none of the few blogs that I regularly check had been updated (except Brian and Sara...you guys are great about blogging). Caren don't try to feed me that line about your internet again--update your blog! Anyway, rest assured blog fans. We are still alive, well, and blogging.

And now a thought. We have a joke in my family about thoughts. Our family friends, the Marsdens, dread when Craig (father) says he wants to share a thought. Due to the length of his thoughts, his children would much prefer a lesson to a thought. Anyway, this is not a Craig thought, it's just a regular thought.

Here goes...

This whole prop 8 thing has been on my mind a lot. It's frustrating to see the reaction and the disrespect that has followed in the wake of its passing. My thought is I'm so grateful that we live in a country where the voice of the people matters. The voice of the people (and not just the Mormon people...California is not 52% Mormon) has spoken and we are saying that traditional families are important--not just for educational, religious, and political reasons, but for the basic perpetuation of society. I appreciate that we have a lot of different people with very different views and lifestyles, but I don't think the noisy minority should continue to torment the silent majority.

Anyway, I'm so grateful for the family I was raised in, for the family my husband was raised in, and for my husband. We surely are blessed to live in this country.
