Finally some Dirty Dash Pictures

Half of my siblings and some of my friends and I put together a team and did the Dirty Dash at Soldier Hollow this year. The race was September 17th but I just barely got my hands on these pictures. So here is a little looksee at all the fun we had. This is definitely a "race" that I'll be doing again and again. I think I want it to be a family tradition that eventually includes my kiddos.Image
Danny being his charming self, getting all dressed up for the race. He was definitely our entertainment all day. Sadly about half way through the race he got dirt up inside his eyelid that scratched his eyeball and he had to call it quits! Bummer.

Image
Here's the whole crew. Next year we are going to have some real costumes. This was our last minute throw something together "costume" idea....pretty lame I know!

Image
This picture is to emphasize Pete's lovely short shorts...yes he wears these to the gym. Oh my!

Image
Holly and Sarah posing for their potty break. Sarah's green stretchy pants were my favorite part of our "costumes"
Image
Here we go!

Image
If you look closely, you will notice all of our strategically placed handprints! (we got bored waiting for the race to start!)
Image
Hi MOM! My wonderful mommy was our photographer, she ran all over the course to take different shots, I think she got just as good of a workout as us! She also provided a much needed meal at the end of the race! THANKS MOM!

Image
This rope swing was pretty lame. I wish they had a big muddy pool to jump into.

Image
Giant slip and slide, way fun but it tore you up a little if you weren't careful. There was so much gritty dirt, and then the landing looked soft, but it was pretty much solid rock!
Image
We are definitely super cool...and buff, don't you think?

Image
A little mud in the mouth never hurt anyone right?
Image
You know that looks really fun, but it left some pretty good bruises on my hips! OUCH!
Image
Ta Da!
Image
And we're done! 6.3 miles of disgustingly dirty fun!
Image
This is Heidi's clean shirt after the race....she forgot to clean out her pits! EEW!

Drum Roll Please!

So I'm finally posting after eight long months! So sorry. I banned myself from scrapping, because I was spending way to much time on the computer. In doing so I pretty much had to ban myself from the computer for awhile and now it's just not a habit to keep up with computer stuff anymore. But for posterity sake and for my daddy I figured I better blog again. I like keeping a blog, it's like my own personal history, complete with pictures!
So to make this easier I'm going to do one post per missed month and call it good! Enjoy.

OCTOBER

We paid a visit to Amy and the Lamborn cousins in Laketown over UEA. We rode horses and played and ate good food for 3 days!

Mayci found a new love for the sandbox

Image

We started physical therapy for Mayci. She didn't crawl until after she turned one, but she made fast progress as soon as she started therapy. She crawled within the first two weeks and is now working her way to walking.
Image

The 5th of August we had a baby shower for Kat. She was so ready to be done with pregnancy! I feel ya Kat, that's why I'm done :) I didn't forget this time!
