Happy Birthday to Me!

Tonight we celebrated my 23rd birthday with dinner @ Olive Garden. My birthday isn't until the 24th but, with my busy midterm week @ school it was the only time we could go out. I think the older you get, the less your birthday is a big deal. It's all down hill after 21.. ha! It was a nice dinner, the second Sunday in a row for birthdays. I really didn't know where I wanted to eat until right before (I never know what I'm craving). Always happy to celebrate with Sarah & Chad!! Here's to another year!!!

P.S. In these pics.. I am 26 weeks & 4 days; Sarah is 25 weeks & 4 days.!! I'm due May 27, & she's due June 3 (exactly a week apart.. how cool is that??)!

It is that time of year.. MARDi GRAS!! The best thing about Mardi Gras is the King Cakes!! Here in Texas, they have no idea what a king cake is, let alone know how to produce them. There are so many to choose from.. You can get cream cheese/strawberry, cream cheese/blueberry, peach, apple, cinnamon, lemon, raspberry, berry delux, almondy joy, chocolate bavarian, pecan praline, hawiian delight, and more!! They are one of the most wonderful tasting things (I bet they'd be even better while I'm pregnant!!!). Mardi Gras is the week of my birthday, Feb. 24. I am going home for a wedding the weekend of the 27th, so hopefully I can indulge in a great king cake!! B/c right now, I'd give away Fiona for one!! :)

Happy 21st Birthday Sarah!

Today was Sarah's 21st Birthday! She texted me this morning and told me that she was given instructions to be dressed in church like clothes by 12:30. She was so excited! Chad had apparently planned a special outing for her. He ended up taking her to see the Swan Lake Ballet! Sarah is a 13 year ballet veteran, so it was a delightful suprise to be taken there for her bday. We met them @ 5 to go out for her bday dinner @ PF Changs. It was soo delicious! We'll be doing it again next Sunday for my 23rd bday!!

Blue River

Patrick & his boss, Matt, went fishing on the Blue River in Oklahoma. Matt's family owns property & a cabin on the river. They spent 2 days fishing. Patrick caught 11 bass, 1 small mouth bass, & a trout. The trout was 22 inches long, & enough braggin' rights to have it mounted. He's very proud of it, so I thought I'd post some pics from his adventure.

Shower for Baby Logan

Sunday was Sarah & Chad's Baby Shower! I've been so excited to buy/give them gifts. What better to be excited about than buying your friends a baby gift?? We got a little camo onesie for Logan with his name embroidered in hunter orange on the front (along with a few other outfits). Also, a diaper genie for the diaper changing contest that Chad & Patrick are going to have (haha), bath items, and some other necessities. It was a great shower, and she received quite a bit of gifts (yay for gifts). I can't wait to go to their house and see the progression of Logan's room with all the things he has now!! Setting up the room makes it oh so real!! I get tickled to death!! I am so glad we have friends like this to experience parenthood with!!

Say a Prayer..

So, I had this great doctor that I liked. Go Me! If you've read, then you may know that my "great doctor" stopped accepting my insurance (I guess that is what sucks about living so close to different counties).
Well, on the prowl for a new doc, I came across someone who accepted my insurance & decided to make an appt. to check him out. He has a partner, whom I was not interested in seeing. Today was my appt. @ this new office. I tried to go in with an open mind. Door opened.. and WHAM! Sorry atmosphere to begin with. Even though my old doc said they already faxed my file over, the new place had none of my info (I'm going to have to get my own copy of my file). It took what seemed like forever for the nurse to call us back.
When we got to the back, we passed this doc. Patrick whispers, "Misty, do you see that guy, he's kinda creepy." I made a point to tell my dearest that the man he saw was our doctor's partner, and certainly I had not requested that doc. I gave a urine sample, BP, & all that good stuff.. They put me and Patrick in a room and told us to wait, that we would be moved.
We were then moved to the sonogram room, where I may or may not have to get a PAP exam. We waited a bit, and finally heard someone looking @ my chart. The door opens, low & behold... IT'S THE CREEPY MAN!! Who is there to tell us that he is our doc! He started trying to impress us by talking to us in doc talk, like we were stupid. After asking me what I was going to school for, he proceeded to tell me that I should not be adjusted nor the baby (you don't knock someone's profession, even if you don't agree.. there is a line to which you say and don't).
At that point, I knew that this doc was not for us. The visit ended with a sonogram, routine for that doc, just to tell us what we already knew.. That baby Stella's organs looked great & she was for sure a girl (and my due date is correct by that doc)!!
WHAT A DAY!!
Say a prayer for us that we will find the right doc for us..
I found these doc's today & emailed them questions before jumping to an appt.
Check them out if you want..
There is a reason for everything.. I'm leaving this one to the man upstairs.. :)
