A Sweet Husband

I have to take a second today and brag about what an amazingly sweet husband I have. He is always so thoughtful and he shows me everyday how much he loves me. Whether it is telling me he loves me or his sweet little gestures. For almost the last year I haven't been able to go to the full three hours of church with my husband because he has to work Sundays. He never complains and just does what he needs to to provide for us which I am so thankful for. Not having him with me on Sundays has been rough, and I have complained to him ALOT about it which is not fair because it is out of his hands. Anyway...this last Sunday I was in bed and at about 9:30 I heard knocking on the door and the doorbell ringing. I was a little groggy because I had taken Nyquil the night before (that stuff and I do not mix well) so I was in a panic thinking who in the heck is pounding on my door on a Sunday morning. I immediately threw Juliet into the bedroom and shut the door because our apartment charges more to have animals and we are too cheap to pay so we didn't tell them...I went out into our living room still half asleep and noticed someone was coming into my house, I was scared/confused haha. It turned out to be my sweet husband who came home from work early to surprise me. Him being home would have been enough but to top it off he brought me flowers. He told me that he felt bad I always had to go to church alone and so this week he wanted to go with me. And to make the morning even more perfect he made me breakfast! I love him so much and am so lucky to have him as mine!

Happy Holidays!

I have come to the conclusion that I am never going to be a very good blogger. I see people who get on here multiple times a week and I struggle getting on here multiples times a year. I love those of you who post a lot though, it keeps me entertained! I can't believe that it is already December 4th, this year has flown by! I am so excited for this month though because I get a the whole month off of work to enjoy the holidays with my family and hopefully my friends! I am also very excited because this Thursday, December 8th I get to turn in my final project for school and then I will be a college graduate! It is so weird to think that I will be all done with college, that is something that I never thought was going to happen. Here are some things that I am most looking forward to this month:

1. I get two new nieces this month!!
2. I get to go have breakfast with Santa with my adorable nieces
3. I get to see my husband for more than an hour a day
4. I get to listen to a lot of Christmas music
5. I get to watch all of my favorite Christmas movies
6. I get to go see the Forgotten Carols
7. I get to sleep in past 6 o'clock
8. I get to hang out with my family
9. I get to go and see the lights at temple square
10. I get to eat lots of yummy holiday food

Some of these things are pretty pathetic to be excited about haha it's fine! I love this time of year and being able to celebrate what it means!

Life Lately

First of all let me just start this blog post by saying that what I really should be doing right now is working on correcting papers/other stuff for school. But I decided that since it has been MONTHS since I last blogged that this would be more fun. Andrew and I have been loving our crazy life and so many new things have happened to us in the last little while. I am not going to take the time to write in detail what we have been doing so I decided I would write a list and add a few pictures to go along with it. I seriously can't believe that October is pretty much over and that we are already about to start November. Where does the time go?!

1. I started teaching 2nd grade
2. Andrew started school again
3. I found out that I am going to be an aunt again! My sister in law Candace is having a baby girl, my sister in law Sarah (Andrew's sister) is having a baby, and my sister in law Sarah (my brother's wife) is having a baby! I am beyond excited!
4. Andrew and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! Love him so much!!
5. I turned 23...that sounds so old!
6, I have been having monthly get togethers with my friends and it is just what I have been needing! It is so nice to play with my friends and just talk!

Haha ok so that list looks a little weak, but since I am putting myself on the spot that is all I can seem to come up with right now! I am loving this time of year though and the beautiful warm weather we have been having. I hope it lasts a little longer, I am so not ready for snow yet!

Besties

So first off I have to say what great friends I have! I can go without seeing any of them for months and then when I do see them it's like we have never been apart. When we get together we always have so much fun and can laugh and talk for hours. Basically what I am getting to is that I miss my friends a lot!! We are all so busy with work, school, marriage, etc and I hate that we don't see each other very often. I just wanted to give my besties a shout out, you know who you are!! You guys are the best friends in the whole world and I love you all!!

First Fire...

Well everyone...it has happened, Andrew and I had our first kitchen fire in our apartment. How did this happen you ask? Well last night we decided we wanted Fettuccine Alfredo for dinner and we were arguing on how to put the noodles into the boiling water. I said that I liked to break them in half first so that they all fit into the pot at once and Andrew said you pour them all in at once and let the noodles fold over as they get soft. Well we went with Andrew's plan and decided to pour all the noodles from the box into the boiling water. While this was happening my sweet husband kept on missing the pot with the box of noodles so the noodles started falling onto the burning hot stove and catching on fire. I was panicking of course and didn't know what to do so I pulled the boiling pot of water away while he was still pouring noodles...needless to say that was not a good idea. More noodles fell onto the stove and the fire continued to grow. At this point both of the fire alarms in our apartment were going off so I was running back and forth to both of them and fanning them with a pillow while Andrew dealt with the fire. He just let the noodles burn out so our house was filling with smoke so we had to open all our doors and windows. Meanwhile our poor little kitty Juliet was freaking out and went and hid under the bed. All ended well though, I was able to get the fire alarms under control and Andrew was able to put out the fire. Clearly I don't do well in stressful situations so I'm glad Andrew can stay calm and not panic. I have to admit, the whole thing was pretty hilarious even though it was a little scary!

ROADTRIP!!

So first off I have to say that I have a love/hate relationship with vacations. I get so excited as I am counting down the days until it gets here and I am thrilled the day we finally get to leave home...but then it ends! UGH! There is nothing worse than looking forward to a vacation and then once it gets here it speeds by so fast. But I have to say that it is nice to come home, especially when I don't have to leave my other half anymore.

Lets start on day one of the vacation. We left our apartment early on Friday the 13th and we were Vegas bound. Andrew and I decided that we wanted to leave before anyone else because we wanted as long of a vacation as we could get. We left the house at about 7am and had to drive to St. George to deal with a little issue that Andrew had from not paying a ticket. So we got there and had to sit in a courtroom for about an hour and a half waiting to see if they would reduce the fine from his stupid ticket. Well I can tell you that it was a complete waste of time and we still had to pay the whole fine...but it was ok cause listening to everyone else plead their cases was kind of interesting. Anyway. After that we continued our journey to Las Vegas. Now I have to say that I have never been a huge fan of the Vegas but being there with my hubs and actually staying in a decent hotel that had a real nice pool was actually a lot of fun. We spent the first few hours we were there just laying by the pool and relaxing. Then we decided to get ready and hit the town. We went and ate dinner at a buffet of course and awaited the arrival of Clayton and Whitney. When the four of us we together we decided to go and gamble a little bit...well I hate gambling and I am NOT good at it at all. My brother gave me like thirty bucks to play blackjack with and it was gone in about five minutes. (sorry about that Clay) But I did find one type of gambling that I liked-the penny slots. haha I won five bucks on one of those machines and I felt pretty good about it. We the decided to go back to our hotel and get some shut eye, we stayed at the Rio which actually was a nice hotel in my opinion.

Saturday: Saturday morning we all got up and went and layed by the pool again, the weather was so amazing it was about 90 degrees and I was loving it. After we did that for awhile we decided to go and eat some lunch so we ate another buffet. (Don't judge, we were in the buffet capital of the world.) Then we played around a little more before we hit the next leg of our vacation. We drove to San Fernando to stay the night because we were going to Six Flags the next day. Our hotel was a little creepy and we were happy to get out of there bright and early.

Sunday: This day was a blast! We went and spent the whole day at Six Flags and rode rollercoasters  all day. I had never been there and it was so much fun. Some of those rollercoasters were pretty intense but I loved it and was so glad we went. We stayed there until about seven o'clock and then we headed out to our final destination...Disneyland!

I guess I don't have to break the rest of the trip up into days because we mostly did the same thing for the rest of the trip with a few added things here and there. We spent four days in Disneyland and it was a lot of fun. We met up with the rest of our family in Anaheim which included, my parents, and my brother Keith and his family. I was so excited to spend time in Disneyland with my little Tessy and June Bug, they were what made the trip so fun because they loved every second of it there. We also spent some time a the beach and in LA. We had such a fun vacation and were not excited to come home even though we were gone for over a week. Now it's back to work...boo! I loved being able to spend every second with my sweet husband and now we don't get to see each other all day. But that's ok because summer is slowly creeping in and I am so happy about that!!

Spring is here!

Considering that it has been about two months since I have posted anything I figured it was about time to update everyone on the amazingly exciting lives of Andrew and Kristen! Well I had my last final today so for me school is officially over for the summer and I couldn't be happier about it. I actually am basically done with school, I only have a once a month class that I have to take this Fall before I officially graduate. It is such a weird feeling knowing that I am starting my career this Fall, it is so exciting and a little bit scary. Andrew is almost done with school for this semester too, he just has one more final on Tuesday and then he will be done. I am so excited for a summer without school, we both need a little bit of a break.

Easter was a lot of fun for us, we got to spend the weekend with both of our families which was nice. We went bowling, ate dinner, dyed Easter eggs, and watched a movie with Andrew's family on Saturday. His sister Sara came home from Reno for the weekend so it was really fun to see her and catch up. We then spent Sunday with my family. Andrew had to work so I spent the morning with my family and then we all went to my Aunt's for dinner. Overall it was a really nice weekend and we had a lot of fun spending so much time with our family. We truly have the world's greatest families and we feel so blessed!

That is pretty sad that this is all that I can think of to write about when I haven't posted for two months haha. Oh well. We have just been super busy with dumb stuff like school and work so that isn't any fun to talk about. But we do leave on vacation in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait! We are going on a little road trip to California, so we are super excited. When we get back I'll post pics and talk about our vacation, that should be a little more fun to read than this post is! Well that's all for now!
