Emery's First Day of Preschool

Emery started preschool on September 8th. She LOVED it. She couldn't wait for it to actually start and loves going every week still! I cannot believe she is old enough for preschool. She's growing up too fast.

I called my mom on the way home and told her it is a good thing Jill is her teacher or I probably would have bawled. Emery was so excited she didn't have any reservations about going!

(Side note-Kenzie came 4 days after this picture).

We went the night before and bought her backpack and let her choose it.

Emery and I made Jared a Father's Day lunch right after church (before a nice dinner later) and it truly was a "Father's" day lunch... every piece of pepperoni has a bite out of it!

Emery's first day for gymnastics.  At Emery's birthday we talked to Clarissa (Bishop's daughter) about teaching Emery gymnastics because she had already taught her to do a somersault in like 30 minutes a few days previous. Emery now does gymnastics once a week in their front yard for 30 minutes (as long as she is healthy and we are in town.) She loves it!

Emery Turns 3

Image

This girlie planned her birthday months in advance!  We (with Karissa and Emmaline) were coming home from Target one day and she started to tell us all of these plans so I told Karissa to take notes so we could fulfill her pink wishes. She woke up on her birthday to pink decorations everywhere, some balloons and her favorite cereal as well as donuts. She thought it was the greatest! My parents were down so we spent the day celebrating while her da-e was at work and then partied with him when he got home. He had the next day off and we continued to party.

Pink cupcakes and pink sherbet!

On Saturday we had a little party/bbq for her. She took invites around to people who she wanted to come. It was so fun! She even made sure to invite her buddy the Bishop. For her birthday she got "pink stuffs" and baby dolls. She was one happy 3 year old! She continues to tell people "I am 3 on my birthday then I will be 4!"

Countdown to Emery's Birthday

Image

This year she was soooo excited for her birthday so we made a countdown for FHE. She loved taking a link off, or it was even better if we forgot and she got to take off multiple at a time.

A little behind...

I promise I will get better at blogging again, if for nothing else journaling reasons. Life has been busy around here lately-more on that to come. Here are a few pics of Little Red from the other night when  Jared was taking pictures of a bike to sell and she was enjoying a Lofthouse sugar cookie (HER FAVORITE) and she jumped in for a few shots.

Playing with Grandma Great

Image

Last time Grandma-Great was down in Utah we had the opportunity to have her come to our house for a bit. We LOVED IT! Emery enjoyed coloring with her and making pretend food for her. We love getting to spend time with her and try to treasure it as much as possible!

Big Sister

We knew shortly after Emery was born when we were supposed to try to add to our family, it was sooner than we had planned but we both knew and could't deny it.  I posted previously about my experience with my Granma dying, in it I mentioned that I asked her to do me a favor and take care of our babies that were supposed to come to our family and send them WHEN IT WAS THEIR TIME. At that point we had been trying for a baby for a while and knew for some reason that it would be a while. Months passed, a year passed, more time passed and no baby. "Infertility" is a hard thing, but we never felt bitter or angry because we knew that Granma would keep her promise and send our baby when it was the right time.

We were coming up on the two year mark of trying for a baby when we thought that there was a chance I was pregnant. We didn't want to get our hopes up too much, we had just had the week of Grandpa-Great in the hospital, him dying and his funeral, but I felt like I knew that this time I was pregnant. We came home from Idaho and finally got up the courage to go and buy a pregnancy test.

It is all in the Lord's timing. He knows exactly when we need things and how to make a sad time in our lives happier. We were sooooo excited that we finally got to add to our family! We gave Em these pajamas shortly after, but told her that they said "Emery is the cutest" when she asked.

Another little story to go with this, I am not a very patient person. I am constantly praying to Heavenly Father to help me work on my patience. Shortly after the new year I was praying and thinking about things I wanted to work on, I thought about this and started to cry, I realized that I had been ignoring the biggest way Heavenly Father had been trying to teach me patience. It was just a couple of weeks later I found out that I was (am) pregnant.

We are so delighted for this little GIRL to join our family and when we finally told Emery she was stoked!

Easter in Park City

We had a chill weekend in Park City for General Conference/Easter with Jared's parents and Julisa & Daniel. We explored the city, hit up our favorite places and enjoyed conference. Saturday morning we woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had indeed found Emery in Park City, and spoiled her! We hurried off to Smiths for an egg hunt!

She was sooooo excited for it to start!

And then, she cried. Eventually she warmed up to it and...

Image

made quite the haul! She got 7 actual eggs that were hid on top of cans. After we looked to see what was inside we wish we would have had her go for more eggs! They were coupons for free boxes of cookies, pudding, or fruit snacks!

Image

They also had donuts, milk, and juice as well as cookies to decorate and pictures to color!

It was a fun weekend spent with good company!

Oh E...

This was just a random conversation from Christmas that I found in my drafts and thought it was too cute not to share. (or for me to remember)

J: "Do you want to help dad make a box for the Christmas tree?"
E: "A box for the Chri Chri Tree!?!? Awww yeahhh! Dat'd be great!"

Easter Egg Hunt

Image

Some friends in our ward did a little Easter egg hunt and we were so excited we were invited! We were asked to bring 10ish eggs filled, it was perfect because we had 12 eggs left from last year!

Image

Getting ready to go, not really sure what it meant (I dropped the ball on getting her excited for Easter this year).

Image

We sorted them and counted them when we got home. SHE LOVED IT! She was practicing for days after how it goes and what you do when they say go, etc. She was most excited about the sparkly eggs! I'm so glad we went, it was so fun!

Enjoy the Journey.

Pic-ic

Emery has been sooo into picnics lately, sometimes we have one set up for days! Her imagination is going like crazy these days and it is so fun!
