Not the Zigfield Follies - Magpie #75

It aint the Zigfield Follies
It aint Cirque De Sole
It aint the The Black n White Mistrals
In burlesque style, it's risque
There are men in tigerprint lap laps
Walking on needles & spikes
There are girls singing the songs of the sirens
Whilst peddling topless on bikes
It's a feast for the senses
It's a show to be seen
So if it tickles your fancy
It's starts July sixteen

Foundations

Come in for a while
Take time, look around
I'm a unique kind of construction
No others like me to be found
I'm forever changing
Inside and out
I'm always changing appearance
Of this theres no doubt
My foundations are sturdy
This is a fact
Thanks to the love a woman
Whom raised me like that
I have many flaws
Can't be perfect you know!
Though I know how to nurture
And like to help others grow
If life is the building
Then mines only half done
I'm still under construction
But that's half the fun

Just Be!
This week went by in the blink of an eye! Some weeks are just like that, they're so busy that it's can be hard to catch your breathe & really relax. Tonight though, I can! I can just sit here on my patooty, all alone, I don't have to rush anywhere or do anything. I can sit here in my jim-jams, with my fluffy slippers on and do nothing. There is something about this scenario that is truly wonderful & very much needed.
Sometimes it is nice to just - Be!
Be in the moment
Be silent
Be rested
Be contented
Be alone
Yep, Just Be!
So I raise my glass of Bailey's & say cheers!! Cheers to Me!
Tee! Hee! Hee!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

A Way with Words!

He has a way about him
The words that he weaves have impact
They float like a feather falling gently from the trees
& settle gently on my skin
They dance across the page in a rythmical display
that causes me to dance within
They sear into my heart like a lovers dagger
& cause my heart to ache
They creep under my skin and move in there
causing my body to react
His way with words
Awakens my senses
&
I come alive inside

Through Iron Barred Windows - Magpie Tales 72
The Wheat Field by Vincent Van Gogh
The golden stems they stood up tall
The sun was rising in the eastThe morning breeze caused the wheat to dance
Creating a visual feast
His asylum cell was cold & dark
He was a prisoner trapped within
But through the iron barred window frame
His creativity would begin
His eyes and immagination
Would take a journey beyond that cell
Then colours would dance on canvass
Transporting him from his hell

Take a Moment & Think!
Spend a while in my head
Come see what's inside me
Learn of things that I've not said
You don't know my story
You don't know why I cry
You don't why I can't sleep
Why I struggle to try
You've not walked in my footsteps
You've not experienced my pain
You've not had forced hands upon you
Damaging your brain
You stand there and stare at me
With your judegmental eyes
You see what you want to
But what you see is lies
In truth I'm a person
I'm a person like you
Who's innocence was stolen
By someone I knew
They were meant to have loved me
They should have taught me right & wrong
They were meant to protect me
Instead I was abused my childhood long
Now I hear voices
They reside in my head
They tell me I'm nothing
That I'd be better off dead
I am working so hard
To get the life I deserve
But the journeys a rough one
There's just so many curves
So next time when you see me
So next time when you see me
Please don't judge what you see
Just pause for a moment
Ponder what my story may be!
By KMF
I wrote this to encourage people to alter or at least question how they think. I ask them to make a concious efffort not to make assumptions & judge others.
Please take a moment to remember that every living person has a story and sometimes those storied are filled with darkness and gloom. It is something that a majority of us would struggle even to imagine.
So next time:
When you see that man walking down the street with shabby clothes & a dirty face please don't laugh. (He may have been abused by a family member since he was 3, his parents may have belted him everyday of his childhood, he may never have had good role modelling to learn life skills from)
Please don't laugh at the lady sitting in the park who is nursing a doll & talking to herself. (She may have lost a baby and suffered a reactive psychosis, she may be enacting the sort of love she never had, she may be role playing the motherhood role that she will never experience)
Or the manic man pacing up & down the mall yelling at someone who isn't there. (He may have been abused by his own father from the age of 12, he may have been repeatedly told he was worthless & would amount to nothing)
There are many reasons why people act they way they do. I've worked with the adults whom were the victims of ongoing sexual abuse and often these alter personalities are the only reason they still exist. They are the survivors of a cruelty that many of us will ever know.
This doesn't just apply to children of abuse but to anyone that may appear different in this world because they all have a unique story.

Bright Star - Official Trailer
I really enjoyed this movie. It was a beautiful , lyrical love story. A feast for the eyes, the heart & the soul. Beautiful!!
Not everyone's cup of tea though says my husband. Too slow!!
"Don't be discouraged by failure. It can be a positive experience. Failure is, in a sense, the highway to success, in as much as every discovery of what is false leads us to seek earnestly after what is true, and every fresh experience points out some form of error which we shall afterwards carefully avoid." John Keats
