Union of Souls - Magpie Tale # 248

Image
Bond of Union, 1956, by M.C.Escher

Two in body
One in soul
Together forever
Once half now whole

Contiguous emotions
Of nature and will
Of mind and of matter
Love be the thrill

The Law of attraction
The science of love
A closed book of magic
Sent from above

Spherical pearls
Luring them in
A union of love
Set to begin

Remember - Magpie Tale #244

Image

In horrid conflict
The fallen lie
Life so fleeting
Too young to die

Like lambs to the slaughter
Their blood was spilled
Soaked in the earth
Lives left unfulfilled

Battle torn bodies
Taken to ground
A sea of red flowers
Lies all around

It's believed that the poppies
Grew from blood that was shed
Of the valiant soldiers
That is why they are red

Remember the gallantry
The valiant fight
Remember the lives
That were lost day & night

For those lives that were taken
I wanted to say
Thanks for your courage
And valiant ways

Breakfast Now Served - Magpie Tales # 243

Image

"Happiness is homemade jam for breakfast"

My bedroom floor
A table it be
Breakfast now served
Yummy treats for me

Cool glass of Valencia
My lips citrus kissed
Chased by a coffee
Of beans freshly pressed

The scent of warm toast
Permeates my room
Butter willingly melts
Prepared to consume

Warm woollen socks
Scarf loose round my neck
I soak up the sun
Coming in from the deck

Nannas Mulberry jam
A comforting treat
With a dollop of cream
Toast's now ready to eat

A good morning picnic
Lovingly prepared
By the man that I married
Just to show me he cared

My Mother My Foundation - Magpie # 242

Image

Mother...

My foundation

You planted the seed of my life
You nurtured me with abundant, beautiful love
You tended me &
cared for me tirelessly

You ensured my roots were strong
That I had the strength to withstand the elements,
strengthening me to weather whatever storms may come

The seasons will come
The seasons will go
The years will add lines to my face
and most likely a crick in my step

But

With my foundation

I will enter my Autumn with a great appreciation for

LIFE

Thanks Mum

Facing the Sun - Magpie Tale # 237

Image

Overwhelmed with the treachery in life, she turned her face to the sun in a practical act of self preservation. She needed to feel connected, to something or someone. The warmth of the sun on her skin and the sting of the suns rays in her eyes, reminded her she was alive. She was still here. Every fibre of her being was pervaded by a state of languor, of listless indolence.  Her thoughts were scrambled, rushing forward, rushing back.... desperately searching for reason and resolution all at the same time. She wondered how she would muster the strength to forge ahead. How she might navigate the perplexities placed before her.
She opened her eyes again & noticed the sun filtering through the leaves of the tree just outside the window. She noticed a little hummingbird just hovering outside the window. It hovered before her for the longest time & seemed to be as interested in her as she was in it. This was the connection she'd needed. This tiny, sweet little jewel of nature had visited her at her window and in it's wake it had filled her heart with hope and joy.

As a very wise and insightful woman once said," Look for the beauty in the spaces in between."Helen Keller.
If we could all just do this we would learn how to restore our faith and hope in life itself.

Divine Inspiration - Magpie Tale # 234

Image

"Starry night by Alex Ruiz"

With stars in his eyes
The celestial sphere illuminated his soul
Filling him up

...With an abundance of...

Peace
Love
&
a bucket load of
Creativity
...
He stood in silent contemplation
Thinking about man from millenniums past

Resting his eyes on constellations
Shared by men from those Elysium fields

Now divinely inspired

It was time to channel his inner Van Gogh

and

Paint!

Let There Be Peace - The Mag # 232

Image

Goodness prevails
At least that's what they say
Yet somehow the innocent suffer

Faultless

Defenseless
 &
Unknowing

they fall ....

by the hundreds

they fall ....

War surrounding us

In religion
In union
In state
In nation
In Community
In Homes

it's prevalent

it's there!!

Conflict
Confrontation
Hate Mongering
Warfare

Incitation of hatred, enmity and prejudice

No matter what side of the red line you sit

We all pay the price

Please let there be peace

Peace for all!

Our little slice of heaven!

Welcome to my garden, my little slice of heaven.

Image

"The trees, flowers & plants grow in silence. The stars, the sun, the moon move in silence. Silence gives us a new perspective."

"If you look the right way you can see the whole world is a garden"

" It's a funny thing really. We think that it is us that is nurturing our garden but in fact it's our garden that is nurturing us."

"It's so true"

Rope em up & Ride em. The Mag #231

Image
Elizabeth Taylor, Set of "Giant", by Frank Worth.

Rope em up & ride em
She's a sharp lassooin lass
Showin him her stylin
Blockin off his pass

Hobble up your lip she says
As she orders him on down
Dust billowing from underfoot
As her boot stomped the ground

Pony up already
The tumble weeds roll thick
Her mittens now are tossed away
It's time he did his trick

Throwin in the sponge
No diverting from the route
He got down off his trusty steed
To help the poor gal out!

Yee! Ha!

Unrequited Love - Magpie Tale #225

Image

Sweet Summer, 1912, John William Waterhouse

"Some people are meant to fall in love but are not meant to be together."

Aware of her own existence and longingly dreaming about his, she lay exposed and vulnerable under a sultry summertime spell. Her secret garden was a verdant oasis. A place that lent itself to her seductive daydreaming. Although present in body, her mind was lost in reverie. She was lost in another place and time. Her indulgent thoughts caused her great frustration, for what she longed for her body could not make claim.
If only her lust, her hapless passion and her love could bring him to her, she would lay forever happy in his arms.

The Forgotten - Written by KMF

Image

Facing the ghosts in the silence,
breathless and burdened.
They fight to understand a confusing,
complicated world.
A world of trouble.
A world of suffering.
A world of woe.
Walking waywardly through life, lonely and misunderstood.
Why this great misfortune?
With their destiny marred at the first breathe drawn.
Jilted and abandoned
Never cradled
Lullabies forever lost
Forgotten
The biology of love forsaken
A proverbial maternal slap in the face
Arms left barren
Longing for embrace
Begging to belong

To Belong to someone...

Anyone!

Through the Silence - By KMF

Image
Google Image

Unspoken words
Tongues tied down... twisted
Burdened by thought
How can minds so right be so wrong so many times
Stuck in memories
A fragmented existence
Shadows cast on the walls of their psyche
Bodies ready to bleed
Ready to fold
Ready to be freed
Broken, rigid... an untidy perception
Holding them in
Listening through silence
Pain seeping
Hurt weeping
Failing attentions
Heedless of the danger
Just wanting to be loved
~~
And isn't that all that any of us want...
to be loved!

Elixir Vitae - Magpie Tales # 222

Image

"Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest

wealth and faithfulness the best relationship"

The alchemy of healing

Belongs in body, mind and soul

Little pill of immortality

Taken with water swallowed whole

They call it "Elixir Vitae"

It may add years onto your life

Its curative in nature

And may halt the surgeons knife

Disease alleviation

Non- pharmaceutical mend

Live life as God intended

Which may see your ailment end

Live peacefully with each other

Be happy, Laugh and Play

Medication has a place in life

But.... LIVING fully is the way!

The Curiosity Shop - Mag # 221

Image

Bit bots and oddities
Mothballs and dust
Bric-a-brac and curios
Knickknacks and rust

Mags on the walls
Whimsy all around
Thingamajigs and whatsits
Are sitting on the ground

Curiosities surrounding
Tried and tested things
Buy a piece of history
And see the joy it brings

The Date - Magpie #220

Image
Edward Hopper, 1922

The walls hug warm; comforting & cosy. Ambrosial aromas permeate the air, pleasing the senses and fructifying heart, body & soul. This place was elegant & refined, worthy of the gods. This moment, right now, here in the Russian Tea Room was a consummation of love and of food.
I watched your hand delicately scoop the first morsel of divinity from the bone china & I remembered the softness of your touch upon my body. A touch with intent of doing nothing more than pleasing me. I remember your lips, your taste, your tongue and my heart beats hard within my chest. I yearn for this moment once more & my hunger grows. This kind of yearning is good for ones appetite. You lift your spoon to my lips, your eyes melt into mine and invite me to taste. I willingly oblige & I'm pleasantly surprised. You place your warm hand on my cheek, cupping my skin and say, " It tastes heavenly doesn't it? Just wait my love, till you taste your dessert."

Sunset Sunday - Rainbow Beach atop Carlos Sand Blow

A few weekends ago my husband, sons, sister and niece went for a drive up the Sunshine Coast of Queensland to Rainbow Beach. We drove our 4WD on the beach, had a swim, ate fish and chips on the beach and watched the sunset standing atop Carlos Sand Blow. I would have to say that it was probably the most glorious sunset I've seen in a long, long time. Here are just a few of the photos my husband took.
If you would like to see some other sensational sunset photos, take a look at Scott's photography blog "Just Used Pixels"

"If light is in your heart,
you will find a way home."
By Rumi

Enlightened body
Quieted mind
Defying gravity
Eluding space and time

Ethereal warmth
Touches my skin
Heavenly blessing
Remission of sin

Peace flows through
Making me whole
Destroying all pain
Restoring my soul

The King of Cats, 1935, Balthus

Felix the feline
Lived in a house
With the King of Cats
And a small field mouse

The cat king, Jack
Did not like the mouse
Thus the reason why
Eight cats lived in the house.

There was Flotsum and Gipsum
Milly and Moe
Dusty and Daisy
And Milo and Joe

There were that many cats
The mouse ran away
And has never returned
To the house till this day!

Indelible Art - Mag #213

Image

Ritual knife carves through flesh
Ink is seeping in
Sacred tooth... mallet tapped
Piercing the skin

Stamp of beauty
Spiritual tag
The body marked for life
A message for ones oppressor
To ward off evil
And stave off strife

A persons ink is personal thing
Forever etched in skin
Kaleidoscope art
Indelible ink
Message contained within

Broken Heart - The Mag # 212

Image

She'd been laying wrapped up in her linen cocoon
Sheltered and alone
Hidden behind the bedroom walls
Since the day he'd left their home

She'd said yes & so had he
Their vows were so seriously made
Why he left she would never know
She was left broken and afraid

Sadness took residence in her heart
Her limbs felt heavy as lead
She wept every day she opened her eyes
Starting each day filled with dread

Then one day she woke up and wept no more
She had no more tears to give
She picked herself up and faced the sun
And decided it was time to LIVE!

"LIFE"

Image

I lay back on luscious blades of green
Stare into the blue
and
drift away

...I let go...

The clouds lend me their rain drops
&
Tears roll down my cheeks

I remember

&

I am grateful

Life flows through us for only a short time

It's unpredictable

It's messy

and

It's wonderful

!~LOVE ALWAYS~!

In Between - The Mag # 208

Image
Poet's Sleep, 1989, by Chang Houg Ahn

"Millions of spiritual creatures walk the earth unseen, both when we sleep
and when we are awake" (John Milton)

 The souls of hundreds
Lurk in the night
A chill's in the air
Marking mid winters bite

Is it.....

Reality or Illusion
Argh this matrix of sleep
My senses are marred
I'm confused, incomplete

Not here nor there
It's not lucidly clear
 I'm caught in between
 This limbic system of fear!

Goodbye Beautiful Boy!

Image

Today was a very difficult day for me and my family. We had to say goodbye to our beautiful boy, Kirra. He has been sick for quite a few years and up until the last few weeks was still enjoying a good quality of life. He was very much a part of our family and we are going to miss his cuddles, the games he'd play & seeing his beautiful blue eyed face around the house.
We love you Kirra and we will never, ever forget the love that you gave us. We will never forget you, ever!!
I just wanted to share some photos of our precious boy here with everyone, he was such a handsome boy!
