Kent and Ellie came to visit!! So fun! We started off with a tour of Vermont. Charming Fall colors and towns, including Chattanooga with it's covered railway bridge and little museum
SUNDAY
The "Chicken Farmer I still Love You" sign is a historical landmark, believe it or not.
Look it up for some fun stories. People have speculated for many years what the story behind this "graffiti" could have been.

We visited the Joseph Smith Birthplace
This woman in our group looked so familiar!
I finally asked her if we knew each other. She said "I'm Lynn Wilson. I'm on scripture central"
Ah! That's why she looked so familiar! She's actually good friends with my friend, Nate, who has shared some videos of hers with me before.
Ellie is a huge Gilmore Girls fan, so naturally we needed to visit South Royalton where the opening credit has a quick shot of South Royalton.
Next Stop was Woodstock
Woodstock is arguably the most charming town in Vermont
The view from the covered bridge
walking under the road
Visiting the Gourd Garden
We were a bit late to see the hanging gourds, but it was pretty nonetheless
We visited Harvard University
Statue of John Harvard
Most buildings were not accessible to the public, so we were wandering around trying to find buildings we were allowed in. haha
This mess hall was students only, but we got a little view and it was like Hogwarts inside! Very cool!
The gardens and buildings were quite fun
This stone chapel was quite charming
We found an Egyptian Museum that was free and really neat!
Wish grandmother Parker was there to tell us stories about everything!
These engravings on the side of the buildings in one courtyard were really cool
Kent had a great find in Che's Argentina Empanadas
Gotta go here again! It was so delicious, and free parking!
Made a stop at the Isabella Gardner Museum
I loved the fire escapes around town.
Had a "West Side Story" feel.
Kings Chapel Burying Ground is the oldest burying ground in Boston
Ellie and Kent at the beginning of the Freedom Trail
(after they probably had already walked 6 miles)
Boston Common
Trinity Church
The Boston Public Library
Gorgeous Brownstones
(These babies go for about 6 Million in this downtown area)
Cheers!
Boston Common
Acorn Street
The homes had such fun pumpkin and Fall displays
The Public Garden
The Public Garden
The photos at the end uploaded backwards, but suffice it to say that we had a FULL Boston day!
It was amazing warm weather and we saw so much of the city! It was great!

This was a recovery day from our big Boston day. We stayed local!

The "Bowry"
After picking up Cora, we visited Searles Castle
And then we supported Tim at his home meet at Windham High School!
Go Tim!!
WEDNESDAY
Having recharged, Kent and I took a morning hike in the woods and discovered a new trail I hadn't been on by Clyde Pond.
Then, Kent, Ellie and I took off for Maine!
Kent treated us to a lobstah roll in Ogunquit.
My first ever and I was shocked that it was delicious!!
We highly recommend the butter/mayo mix. We had it cold, and it was delicious.
Might be ever better hot?
Bar Harbor welcomed us with a double rainbow when we met up with Melissa, Adam, & Seth.
Providence was happy we were together apparently!
Mel and I have a favorite restaurant here: Geddy's. It was very full, but next door we got a table right away, which we needed because it was wet out and cold!
So beautiful though!
We also got this amazing Moonrise over the clouds at night too!
THURSDAY
On Thursday we hiked the Precipice Trail!
It was every bit as fantastic as I hoped! Loved it!
Beautiful Views, steel rungs.....just a little adventure, but not too scary or unsafe!
Sandy Beach
Melissa brought paints for us too!
Thunder Hole wasn't thundering, but still had nice views!
Jordan Pond - FINALLY got a popover at Jordan Pond.
They were very large and delicious, but only if you like German Pancakes/Popovers
I do! :)
Bass Harbor lighthouse
A bit chilly, but delightful views
Mel, Kent and I hiked out across to Bar Island at low tide and took photos of the harbor
Jordan Pond - this time we got to hike around the pond!
It was crazy busy, but still really beautiful
Geddy's stacking cups
Schoodic Point was gorgeous!
After bidding Seth and Melissa a fond farewell at Bangor Airport,
we visited Portland Head Lighthouse
on the way down the coast.
Iconic! You just can't take a bad picture of the Portland Head!
MONDAY
(Kids had school off!)
Monday was pouring rain.
I had wanted to have a farm day, and was promised this farm was
"the Best" (in a Nacho Libre accent)
It was rainy...and therefore, not "the best".....but....still fun because we were together
We got some doughnuts and cider and made the best of it...even visiting the animals in the rain
The pumpkin tree certainly was original
Our toga boy
TUESDAY
Before Kent and Ellie had to fly out, we toured all over Concord, Mass!
Ellie graduated from Walden School......it was a pilgrimage we HAD to do!
The Louisa May Alcott Home "Orchard House"
The North Bridge
Henry David Thoreau's grave at Sleepy Hollow
Daniel Chester French's grave
(The architect of the Lincoln Memorial and the Minuteman statue at the North Bridge)
Thoreau
The Concord Library
I feel like I will break out into song....or poetry just being in this building. Hahaha
It's so inspiring!
Walden Pond
Reggie and Indy are saying "Goodbye Kent and Ellie!!!
We are so glad you could come!!
(Ellie had helped us feed the farm animals the Tuesday prior.)
