A Summer Night

Is there a better way to spend a summer night than a little hometown fair??
Enter South Jordan Country Days. A beautiful night and family made it all so fun!!

Image A patient Maycee and cheesy Layla wating for the train...ImageThe animal train...such a thrill
Image Not sure why Jack is SO happy to be there...Image Our crazy mad scientist kids ImageThis was for sure the highlight of the night...I think if she could...she would own a horse. Image Pretty sure this was the highlight of the night for Layla...she likes food! Even better when she gets to do it by herself.
Image Poor Tami got in a fight with the ketchup and mustard...there goes the white pants!ImageThe two country princesses watching the kids come down the REALLY big slide. Image Halle and Jack were happy to try and LOVED the slide...I think Kristin did too (check out the look on her face). Maycee however, wanted nothing to do with the slide. ImageShe would rather stick to the good 'ol carousel. Image This is what Maycee looks like when you take her (against her will) on the big slide. When we got to the bottom she stood up and turned to me and screamed "I DID NOT WANT TO DO THAT!!"Image The perfect ending to a perfect summer night...sparklers. This was Layla's first encounter with them and she was mesmorized.
Image Maycee loved every minute and learned how to draw with them
Image So ready to start walking...it will happen any day now!
Image Lots of loves to end the night!!

These Girls...

Image I am so happy my girls are so happy together and even happier when their cousins are around!

Image I couldn't be more grateful for "These Girls"!!

Princess and the Pea

ImageYep Maycee is there...right on the very top of all those blankets. Do you think she needs any more blankets for her bed?? She still felt the bump of the pillow underneath...even with EVERY blanket from the house piled up.

Down on the Farm

The weather finally warmed up enough to take a little trip to the farm. We packed some lucnches and made a break for Wheeler Farm to see the animals and run around with the kids a bit.

A Boat & A Mermaid

To kick off summer we went south to St. George for some boating and fun in the sun with KC's cousins and their families. We also took the older girls to see The Little Mermaid at Tuachan. It was so good...everyone young and old LOVED it!

The first night we hit up the fun splash park downtown. The girls were itching to put on their swimsuits and play in the water...
Image
ImageThis is a momentous occasion...the first time maycee made friends with a random kid and played! She is a little shy...
Image She must have been feeling awful brave that day...she never gets this crazy in the fountains. So proud of her!!
Image Just a little cold after all the fountain fun!

ImageShe learned about using the sidewalk to warm up. LOVED watching her do something I vividly remember doing when I was little!

Later on that night we met up with the Andersons and the Eves. We ditched all the kids and went to an adult only movie and a LATE dinner.

The next day we packed the cars up and headed for a day on the water at Sand Hallow. So fun to be on a beach (of sorts) and have some boat time (thanks Taylor). The kids all raced straight for the sand and in no time they were all getting dirty in the red sand.

ImageMaycee would have played like this all day long...I had to practically force her to get in the water! (notice the hoarding of ALL the sand pails-she's a little possesive)

ImageImageLayla was very concentrated on scooping the sand with the shovel. She was a little confused and tried using her hand to scoop up the sand and put it in the shovel. Finally she decided it was more fun to watch it run through her fingers.

Image That little smile makes me smile :)

Image Can you tell who likes to eat?? Erin and Layla were boxing each other out to get to the orange slices... Jennifer could barely keep up!
Image Cute Erin...she loved the sand!

Image KC...showing us his skills on the wakeboard

Image Watchin daddy getting crazy on the wakeboard behind the boat.

Image Wakeboarding is alright, but I'd rather be...

ImageSkiing!! I was in heaven, even with the not so great water. LOVED it!

Image Those boat rides are just so relaxing...

ImageImage Cooling off after a long play day on the beach! (p.s. - not a very smart mom having her wear a white swimsuit to a RED sand beach!)

After our fun in the sun day we prettied up had some dinner and took the older kids to see Little Mermaid at Tuachan. Daylemarie was SO sweet and made all the girls some cute mermaid outfits...complete with a red wig!

Sunshine State

We went to Florida...just for a few days at the end of May. It was still cold in Salt Lake and we needed the sun and warm...that is for sure what we got!
Image Maycee kept Layla pretty entertained on the plane...the flight ended up taking about two hours longer than it should have!!
ImageMaycee's first stop once we suited up was the sand! She loved it!
ImageLayla loved it too...ImageShe thought she was pretty funny that Dad said NO when she tried to eat it!ImageMatching swim suits...love it almost more than matching pajamas.ImageShe started like this, relaxed a little...

ImageAnd ended up like this!ImageMaycee relaxed a little too...
ImageLittle Lays thought she was so funny in Maycee's goggles.
Sidenote: Her suit looks a little large because when KC got them dressed after their naps he put Maycee's top on Layla and vice versa! I wondered why Maycee kept pulling at her top...ha ha ha!
