Playing in the Sheets

Making the Bed...I don't think so: ImageImageImageRemember as a little kid how fun it was to take all four corners of a sheet, throw it up and then run underneath it while trapping the air inside? Lucas was helping me make the bed and I was trapping him along with the air underneath the sheets. He loved it! I thought I would share our fun time making the bed.

7 Months

May 26th,
Image

I just can't believe how fast time goes by. Lucas is already seven months old! We had our weight check up today and he is doing well. He weighed 16.12oz; he is just at the 25% for his age, which is getting better. Lucas started his blabble talk about a week ago and it is awesome! It is mostly Dada dada gaga gaga baba baba...we keep trying to practice Mama mama, but he just won't spit it out yet. :)

Last weekend Casey went rafting and Lucas and I were on the porch waving bye-bye to "Daddy". We came inside and Lucas said, "Dada" I am sure it was just a coincidence, but it was so perfect.

Mommy Needs a Bib Too!

I was fully warned that this would happen so I have been waiting for him to start spitting his food at me. Well, Lucas figured it out today. Here is a video of Lucas learning how to blow his lips together with food in his mouth so it sprays EVERYWHERE!!! Enjoy. I need to go wash our clothes, now.

Learning to Clap

Since Lucas was on the low end of the chart for weight, we have been trying to encourage him to eat his solid food. Every time he takes a bite of food, we clap and cheer for him. I am pretty sure this is Lucas' attempt at clapping after I have clapped. :) He has been eating his solid foods very well, but now he is not taking breast milk or formula. He should be getting 18-40 ounces of breast milk or formula and he is getting between 5 and 15 ounces. We go into see the doctor for a weight check on the 26th of this month. I was worried about a week ago, but I am feeling much better.

Happy 2nd Birthday Dodge

May 12, 2010:

Our little puppy is two years old already. It seems like just yesterday we were picking him up in Kirkland and riding home with him in the car. I sat in the back seat and he slept on my lap the whole way home. Dodge has been such a great family dog and since Lucas, he has been so protective of us. He absolutely loves Lucas. If Lucas wakes up from his nap crying and I am downstairs, Dodge will run upstairs to his room and then stand at the top of the stairs and wait to make sure I am coming to check on Lucas. Lately, Lucas wants to play with Dodge's bones and he will take it from Dodge and then Dodge takes it back...they do this for a while!
Happy Birthday Sweet Puppy!

Mother's Day Weekend...Continued Again

My Special Mother's Day with My Boys!

ImageImageI woke with a sweet Mother's Day card lying by my bed in the morning. We got ready and took a beautiful drive to Snoqualmie Falls. I really wanted to hike down to the bottom to see the Falls. It was such a gorgeous day, we had a wonderful time together. I was a little disappointed that we could not get closer to the falls, but we still had a great time. It seems like the first time in a long time that just the three of us were able to hang out together. We headed home and Casey stopped off at a Nursery just outside of Monroe to pick up this beautiful fragrant Lilac tree. We planted it right outside of our front door. I took Dodge out this morning to go to the bathroom and right as I stepped outside, I could smell the yummy smell of my new tree. Ohh, and Lucas slept 11 hours in a row for me! :) Being a Mom is the greatest thing in the world, besides being a wife! Casey, Lucas, and Dodge, thank you for making my first Mother's Day so special. I love you so much!

Mother's Day Weekend...Continued

Mother's Day at the Hogle's ImageAfter breakfast with the Hoffman's, Casey's Mom surprised me at Kohl's and took me shopping for Mother's day. I got some new shirts and shoes! She said there is only one "first Mother's Day" we had fun together, mostly we made fun of Casey :) We picked up some Jimmy John's and headed back to their house for a walk around the block in the new pack! Lucas had fun! Ed doesn't look enthused. ;) Happy Mother's Day, Andea! Thank you so much for taking me shopping and helping me in my transitioning phase of post pregnancy! :) I couldn't ask for a better Mother in Law!

A Memorable Mother's Day Weekend

Image We all met at the Pancake house in Kirkland. They have the BEST Pancakes...and I have to say that I will not eat Pancakes, that is probably one of the only foods that I do not care for. However, it was Lucas' first time in a restaurant and he did great! :) We then decided to go to the park and visit since it was gorgeous outside. What a wonderful Mother's Day to share with my Mom! Thank-you, Mom for always being there for me! I never realized how special being a Mom was until I had Lucas. I love you so much! Love, Kim

Happy Mother's Day

First Mother's Day with My Baby:

This is my first Mother's day and although I have only been a Mom for six and a half months, being a Mother is the absolute best job in the whole world. I never expected to feel the instant, deep, unconditional love that I feel for Lucas. He brings our lives so much joy. I am so entirely blessed that I get to stay home with my Son and watch him change every moment before my eyes. This video was taken about a month ago and I just love dancing with my baby.

It doesn't matter how many times a night I have to get up to make sure he is okay, every time I have to go into his room in the middle of the night, I get to give him one more kiss.

It doesn't matter how goofy I act, if I can make him laugh, I will act as silly as I possibly can. His laugh is the absolute best sound in the world to me.

It doesn't matter how many hours I spend with Lucas a day, when someone wants to hold him, I always immediately want him back. :)

I love the way he gets tired and rest his head on my shoulder. I love the way he smiles when I sing to him. I love the way he kicks his hands and feet when I go to get him up in the morning. I love the way he hits my face when I am feeding him. I love the way he laughs at stupid things I do. I love the way he looks at his daddy with the biggest smile on his face. I love the way he wants to sit on the floor next to Dodge. I love the way he loves to be outside. I love how shy he gets when he sees himself in the mirror and turns his head into my neck to hide. I love the way he hates being on his tummy and immediately rolls to his back with the biggest smile like "I did it". I love the way everyone says, "wow, he is such a serious baby," but I know how truly happy he is at home.

I love everything about you, sweet baby Lucas.

Love, Your Mama!

Cinco De Mayo Party

May 1st: Bill and Patti'sImage
Image
Image ImageImageI started working for Bill and Patti when I was 15 and I have stayed in touch with them for twelve years. Casey and I got to work there together when we were in college, which was so much fun. Every year, Bill puts on a Cinco De Mayo Party for his Birthday. This year, he decided to get a pig for the party...wow!
Lucas got to salsa dance with Patti, feed the chicken's with Daddy, eat tamales with Mommy, and wear sombrero hats with Bill. We had a great time.

A Little Outing

New Backpack:

We went for a walk on Saturday morning to try out our new backpack that Ed and Andea gave us! He seemed to like his new perspective. We are excited to take him hiking in his new back pack with Grandpa Ed.

Grandpa Wally's Birthday

April 29, 2010:
Happy Birthday, Dad (Grandpa)!
Image

We went over to Katie's house for lunch and celebrated my Dad's birthday. Lucas got to wear his "Grandpa is my Hero" shirt just for his G-pa's birthday. :) Katie had these M&M's out in a dish and Lucas loved putting his hand in the dish. A quick move to his mouth and before anyone could react he had that darn yellow M&M in his mouth. My Dad's hands were full as you can see by my Dad's reaction, "Oh No" he could not help Lucas get it out of his mouth. Fortunately, Grandma was there to swipe it out! :) I love this picture!

What a fun day!

6 Months

April 26, 2010ImageLucas is doing great. His weight was pretty low at our Doctor's appointment. He was not even 16 pounds. So we are now at three solid meals a day. He has been doing pretty good. He is sitting up on his own and he can get on all fours, but no crawling yet. He has been sleeping much better too, especially with his naps. We are working on weaning him from the multiple feedings at night, which is going pretty slow. Other than that our serious little man is soooo happy. Here is a video of him laughing that might bring a smile to your day!

Cracker Adventures

Lucas has tried these rice crackers once before and it is hilarious when he eats them. Here is his reaction on film.
