She’s Almost Here!
Max cheesin'
Generous with hugs...
On Daddy's ladder and Max dancing to the radio we had set up. :)
Now we just have to move a dresser in her room - Andy painted one we had white. It's been drying in the garage all week. Then I need to decide what to hang on the walls. Amazing that we're ready this early. Maybe I'm just a little excited about a girl...;)
Also, I went to my ObGyn today. She is measuring at 34 weeks which is right on track. But, because I've had big babies in the past (Jake - 9 1/2 lbs and Max was almost 8 lbs at a week early) she will probably induce me a week early - on October 18! We can't schedule it yet with the hospital but that's the date she's shooting for. That means only 5 weeks left!
I really am so excited this time around. I think a lot of it is that I don't have any fears of caring for a newborn anymore - got over that the first 2 times. I look forward to just enjoying her. And although I've enjoyed this pregnancy so much, I'm super uncomfortable and ready for the end. I know these last few weeks will fly by...
And we finally decided on a name: Annalyn Ruby. All the women on my dad's side of the family have Ann somewhere and Ruby is Andy's mom's middle name. So it's special and precious, I think. And I feel so blessed - my mom and some friends are throwing showers. Such a fun, blessed time. Amazed at the Lord's gifts... :)

Having Fun...

This one is called Sweet Dreams. I like certain details like the green polka dots and ruffles, but not as crazy about the birds or the colors. 3rd choice...

This is still my favorite but is it not babyish enough? It's called Poppy and I love the black with the pink polka dots. We just got a used white crib so it will go better than with the boys' brown crib.

This one is called Garden Party. Love the lamp, polka dots, colors, BUT don't like how the flowers on the bumper are so similar to the dots on the sheet - needs more pattern variation or something. I know, I'm a little ridiculous. And what colors would I paint the walls in each of these? Any input is welcome!!! :)

Preggo!!
And we have our first (and probably only) sonogram in about a week and a half. We're praying for a healthy baby, and of course.......a girl! I would love a daughter to do girly things with and to teach how to be a Jesus-following lady, etc. It's so good to know, though, that our God is sovereign and so GOOD. His plan is perfect. No doubt, if our 3rd little one is a precious boy, I'll go through a bit of grief over the loss of MY plans. But it's SO good knowing that God knows every day of our lives, that this little person has a specific purpose, and that I can trust that whatever He does is best! Like I said, I can't deny any disappointment if it's a boy, but doggone-it, it's so good having Him to trust. Peace that passes all understanding. Not my will, but yours be done, Lord.
The boys are pretty excited. It's neat now that Jake is so much older (he'll be 6 when the baby comes) and able to understand a lot more. Every week I get an email from babycenter.com that tells how big the baby is in comparison to a food (shrimp, apple, avocado, etc.) Right now I have a little bell pepper inside. :) Jake likes that and asks what size the baby is all the time. I know he'll be a huge help.
Max is excited too. I want to be super careful not to let him fall to the wayside as the middle child. I want to really love on him and include him in the baby stuff. Prayerfully the transition will be smooth. And funny, he told his Sunday school teacher today that we were going to have a puppy and "it's going to be a boy." ?!?! Somehow from the beginning he has linked having a baby to getting a puppy. We've explained that there really is no puppy, but his little mind must still be confused... Need to keep working on this one so there's no major disappointment.
We got bunk beds today (our sweet friends saw them for sale while driving, called us and we bought them! $60 for pretty nice ones - way better than anything I saw on craigslist) so the boys can both move to Jake's room. Baby will get the smaller of the 2. I look forward to painting both of their rooms and decorating.
And I felt the baby's little - faint - movements the other night and a few times today. That's my favorite part of pregnancy and I want to relish it this time. How blessed we are...

"All I Have"
A song he performed at his preschool Christmas program...so sweet.
"All I have is a stable for a bed
All I have is hay for your head
It's a small, small thing, I'm offering
But I give you all I have.
All I have is a voice to sing for you
All I have is a heart to love you too
It's a small, small thing, I'm offering
But I give you all I have."

Little Bits from the Last Few Months
moving day - we wanted to let them experience the giant truck, but they both were afraid of the loud engine, amazingly
I (NOT Andy! so proud of myself) pulled all the weeds that were here and planted several (21!) plants and some pansies. The previous homeowners really made it easy by creating these beds and putting in great soil...easy canvas.
We've let the boys sleep together on Friday nights sometimes (Robin, thinking of you and Scott! ;)) and it's so cute when they whisper and giggle - who knows what's going on in there. Might get bunk beds and have them share a room someday.
Andy - I mean the kids - had fun carving a pumpkin this year. Check out the individually carved teeth - he amazes me! And Jake's into crazy faces for the camera. :D

Last Weekend
It was a really nice little hotel in College Station - brand new and modern. We spent a little time in the indoor pool - perfect since it rained the whole time there.

Neat thing at the alumni building. We all got new A&M shirts too. Fun looking around campus and showing the kids where Daddy used to go to school, live, etc. I'd be proud if my boys were there someday!
Out of curiosity we went to the Bush Library and walked through the museum. It was really interesting for me and Andy but the boys could only take so much. We had to rush through a bit.

Friday afternoon we drove to Houston and ate dinner with Grandpa Clay that night. Max started being silly and then we all took turns taking silly face pics...

Oh my goodness...we were on the fishing dock and someone spotted this guy from WAY off, coming pretty steadily toward the dock. Crazy how comfortable he was coming up to us. He was probably about 4-5 feet long, and the fisherman on the dock kept saying how they could jump straight out of the water 4 feet or so! He probably was coming after our crab bait - chicken gizzards. He came a little close for comfort...
