Victoria ____ Ketcheson

Image
She's here! Just when we thought we wouldn't get that extra tax deduction, our little girl decided to come. Victoria was born Friday, December 28th at 3:35 p.m. As you can see, both she and mommy are doing wonderfully (in fact, we came home from the hospital at noon on Saturday). Victoria is a bit concerned about her own lack of a middle name, but we're working on that...

What does big sister think of all this? You can judge for yourself:

A child's prayer

Image

My dear Elena is finally saying her own prayers, she figured out that when we say them we talk about our day and family situations and anything that is happening at the moment. It has been so sweet to learn more about the way she sees the world and how much she understand simple things we try to teach her. Here I would like to share some of my favorite little prayers from my not so little girl, some are night prayers and some others are to bless our meals:

Heavenly Father, we thank thee for this day, for President Hinckley, mami and daddy, please bless Robert and Camille and mami's back hurts. In the name of...oh, thanks for uncle Ryan, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, for my Candy cane. It's all gone, my candy cane is all gone.. in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, for the apples, please bless the apples and the oranges and the bananas..oh and my boogers in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you for mom and daddy, for this food. I don't want to eat right now. please bless Elizabeth. In the name of Jesus Christ amen.
Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, for the fun we had, for Robert and Camille and mom and dad. Please bless grandma to feel better, please bless grandpa...grandpa plays with me, grandpa comes plays with me, grandpa comes plays with me in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Isn't wonderful to be a parent?

Does anyone know what is wrong with the thing?

I just know that 7 weeks is more than I bargain for.

U.W.M.C. Half Marathon

Go Huskies!
It feels weird to say it being a true BYU fan but, since my Dave was part of the team I can say Go Huskies GO!
U.W. put together a team of students and faculty to participate in the U.W.M.C. Marathon, Marathon Walk, Half Marathon and Half Marathon Walk; to raise money for Grad students Scholarships.
Dave and other members of the Applied Math department signed up to run the Half Marathon and with much training and injuries they all came to the finish line as winners of their own efforts and friendship.
ImageA shot taken before the run, David, Kyle, Kristen, Bernard, Kirsten and Katie.
Most of you know that during training Dave had injured his heel more than even before and was sad to announce that he was not going to run but, thanks to a little sincere prayer from our dear Elena, which said "please bless daddy, please bless daddy to run" he went and tried running the night before and reported no pain, YEAH! so he said I'll go and try to run but I'm sure I'll have to walk.
When we got there to meet his friends we found out that Kirsten's knee was hurting too much and her and Katie(what a good friend) decided to play it safe and changed their registrations to do the walk instead of the run.
Dave almost went with them but was too excited and decided to start the run with Kyle and Kristen but made sure to let them know that they shouldn't wait for him because his hadn't trained as much as they had.
ImageDave and #1 Fan Elena! she was so excited! she kept saying " Go daddy go!"
ImageThere were so many runners that this is how fast they were moving after the start shot.
ImageGO Dave GO! this is a shot of Dave going up one of the hills!ImageKristen and Kyle getting close to the end. Can you see how happy she looks!
ImageKyle and if you can see behind the red cap person, Dave showing how he really felt at the end!
ImageKatie and Kirsten, didn't I say they were doing the walk? Those two! nothing can slow them down!
ImageAt the finish line! Mr. "I'm going to go so slow Belky that I won't make it under two hours" So when I come out to meet him at the finish line, I find him with his friends already done :-( I'm sad I missed him at the finish line but so PROUD that he made it at 2 H. and 10 Minutes!!!!
Of course he couldn't have done it on his own, his friends Kyle and Kristen were of great support during the very hard parts of the race, they all came together!
ImageThe Applied Math team after the race at the Recovery Center. Bernard ( red Jacket) came in first then Kristen, Kyle and Dave and shortly after Kirsten and Katie ( who were supposed to be walking)
ImageNow, you all know that training is the most important part of the process and support from your love ones is a great boost so... How can you not be a winner when your #1 fan is also your training parter!

Thanksgiving!

Here is the Turkey!
ImageThe yummy pies!
ImageThe beautiful table Melanie decorated for everyone!
ImageThe yummy food altogether and a little bit of Kimberly!
ImageBut, Thanksgiving is more than all that, it is family and friends that get together and enjoy quality time as a loving family.
We went to Dave brother's home in Moscow and spent the holiday with Ryan, Melanie, Kylie, Jared, Natalie, Joshua, Kimberly and Melissa (Mel's sisters) and had a wonderful time together.
After our dinner was over we went around and told the things we were grateful for and we all had one in common and it was "family"
I am so very grateful for mine. My dear husband who somehow still understands that I can't control everything about myself while I'm pregnant, and that supports me in every crazy thing I want to do; for my daughter that loves me more than I ever expected, that teaches me everyday about forgiveness and that has put a smile on my face every single day since she was born (yeah even on the hard days there is something to smile about); for the rest of my family for always believing in me as well as my friends do.
Thank you all...

TAG???

I've been tag by Jennifer, don't know why or how it really works but I'll give it a try.
Here it goes 6 things you probably don't know about me.

1.- When I was little I used to play music really loud, lock myself in the bathroom and make choreographies for the songs that were playing, dreaming one day I would become a famous dancer.

2.- I had to wear my shoes on the wrong feet for about 2 years. Even though it was to correct some orthopedic problem, everyone made fun of me because they thought I didn't know how to do it the right way. I was 9 years old :-(

3.- Theater is my passion, more than I can explain, well this might help. I have cried twice to Dave and been VERY upset for not getting the lead roles in the two plays I've done here in the States. Should I point out that the leading role for one of them was a male? and for the second one there isn't really a lead role! in my little head I AM the BEST! ..................this is embarrassing to admit :-(

4.- I punched a guy on the face during recess in high school when I was 13 years old. It looked like he was doing some obscene movement right behind me ( I saw a reflection from the wall) and I just turned around and hit him in the eye with my fist, he stood up and acted as if he was going to hit me back so I kicked him on the stomach twice and run away.............. You are thinking, so brave, well, I went to the girls bathroom and cried my eyes out because I was scare to death!

5.- I was the BIGGEST brat in town. At age 4, I would tell my dad that the restaurant we just walked into was not fancy enough for us and that we should leave; I would walk back to the car and wait for everyone. The worst part!! they would come and we would go to another restaurant.

6.- I better say something good about myself before you guys decide to run away from me.
O.K. So I couldn't come up with anything, so here is another embarrassing one.
I postponed my baptism day to a week later so I could have my birthday party on Saturday (our parties start at 8pm and go till 7am) and not "brake" the Sabbath.

Baby shower

How can I express the way I feel? I don't know but I will try my best.
So my dearly awesome friend Camille decided to throw me a baby shower "again" yes, she hosted the one for Elena too. Any how with the help of my Visiting teachers, Jen and Sally, and of course another great friend, Cailean, I had one of the most "feel so loved" days of my life. I know it sounds cheesy but, I'm pregnant and I really mean it.

Why was it so wonderful? Well, Isn't it wonderful to feel Loved? or to know that you have a friend? or to know that other people care enough about you to come and spend a few hours playing silly games and making sure you have everything you need and more to make your life easier?
That is exactly the way I felt. As each one of my friends walked in the door I felt loved and cared for. I know if I ever need anything I can count with about 25+ ladies that will help me the best they can.

So, to all of you that came to my baby shower THANK YOU SO MUCH! just coming and spending the morning with me was so much fun, just having you there with me was the best present I could have gotten. Although I have to admit the super cute things I got from you are just soooo CUTE.
Love you all!
Belky
p.s. So I was so excited that I forgot to take pictures :-( but I have pictures of the cake Camille and I made together.

Happy Birthday to you!

Our little "baby" turned 2 last week. I can't believe how fast she's grown:-(
We decided to have a Barn Yard Birthday party for her because she loves farm animals.
ImageHere is her "Barn House" as she calls it. Robert made it for her and she just LOVES it! and so did her little friends that came to the party.
Inside the barn there are Horse sticks that I made for each kid, thanks to Dave's mom for the pattern and Camille for all the help.
ImageThis was our first game "Pin the tail on the Donkey" You had to be there it was so funny to see the kids try it, only a few wore the blindfold the other ones just went and stuck the tail anywhere on the picture....
Image...as you can see one of them was extremely good at the game! Of course no blind fold involved :-)ImageOur second game, a "horse race" They were so good they ran and ran around the kitchen. I think I made them run a bit too much because at the end they posed for a picture for longer than needed :-)ImageThe Barn Cake, Camille and I made it together and borrow a farmer and animal from Cailean. Elena really liked it, although she tried to eat the animals :-(ImageThere were two candles I promise!ImageOpening presents. Funny story, later that day we downloaded the pictures to our computer and looked through them all and when we got to the presents pictures Elena kept saying "I want to open presents, I want to open presents"ImageTwo of her presents, a brand new baby and a real camera, she took pictures all day long!. I can't say they are her favorites because she LOVES them all. ( I'm now considering0 giving our guests our Christmas money and having them buy the presents for her because they did so great!)

There are more pictures but have other kids in them so if you want to see them please email me and I'll send you a link.

Trunker Trick

The title is dedicated to all of you who believe I'm so good at English, that is exactly how I wrote it in our calender. The "Trunk or Treat" is a Halloween activity at the church were we all go open our trunks and give out candy to the kids.
We started our day by carving our pumpkins with the Bradshaws. It was way fun to do it together and see what Elenita thought about the whole thing.
ImageElena painting her pumpkin red, while mom was cutting the top off.
ImageGOOP!
ImageCamille starting her carving.
ImageBack then when we were Pirates!
ImageAfter a lot of carving Dave has to rest his pinky. Well he actually burned his finger earlier that day and was still feeling pain so he dipped his finger in cold water every time he could.
ImageI don't know if you can see but there are two black dots on the pumpkin. Elena was playing with the pumpkin and was frustrated that she couldn't close it the right way every time, so I drew two dots and told her to pair them up and the pumpkin will close. She understood right away!
ImageTrying to find the pumpkin's tongue.
ImageOur masterpieces, from left to right, a tree that says Happy Halloween on the top but Robert; a kitty cat, spider and pumpkin by Camille, a ghost by Elena and mom, and a castle by David.
ImageOur pumpkins at the church activity........No I don't dare to write the name again just in case I messed up again :-(
ImageImageElena the doggie, What are David and Belky?
ImageRobert and Camille as Proton and Electron, or like Larry called him, the "Fat" guy, I guess he hadn't read the sign. :-)
ImageThis is what happens after so much fun!... isn't she a super cute dog?
ImageRuff ruff, Meow meow...Elena and Elizabeth, the baby I watch during the week, no, we didn't plan it but aren't they the cutest pair?
ImageHalloween night! or afternoon, we went to a shopping center to Trick or Treat.
I have been thinking of posting a 30 week belly shot and kept forgetting to do it so here is one at 31 weeks, I know it looks like twins but it isn't my fault my babies have aunt Karen's genes and not mine.ImageAny doubts that she was having a blast?
ImageElenita and daddy..... Best friends!
ImageAfter all the candy recollection we went to get pizza and for dessert we had.... a tootsie roll!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
