New York City

Our ballet school planned a trip to New York City! This is a pic of all the girls that went on the trip at a dance clinic they had with one of the Rockettes. We had a fabulous time exploring the numerous sights. Below are pictures of some of the places that we went.
This is Kevin and I standing in the center of time square.

We didn't get to ride the ferry over to Ellis Island but we did get to see the Statue of Liberty.
We rode on the subway all day Saturday. When we were walking to catch one of the trains we heard the music this man was playing and it was amazing. We wished we had taken the time to take a little video of him playing.

Ground Zero is still under construction this is a pic of the memorial they are building.

F.A.O. Schwarts "the largest toy store in the world" I don't think the girls would have minded getting lost in here.

We were walking back to catch the bus and ran into the Grinch.
Rockefeller Center
The 67 floor elevator ride was awesome and exciting. It was and amazingly short ride up and there was a digital display on the glass ceiling of the elevator that made it look like you were taking a trip into space. Reminded me of the wonkavator a bit with its speed and splendor. When we got to the top we could see enormous buildings in every direction over the city. The buildings that appeared small were only small in comparison to the gigantic ones beside them. There was crisp cold air at the top of the rock. The building was amazing with crystals growing inside it's walls. We could see the Empire State building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park and so much more. It was truly a remarkable sight.

Here is Valerie shopping at Sax. The entire first floor was cosmetics.

Did you know Santa likes to were blue? He told us it is his other favorite color.

While we were in New York City we got to see the Radio City Rockettes in the Christmas Spectacular. We also saw the Broadway play of the Little Mermaid.

Our trip was incredible and we hope to go back again someday. Valerie thinks she wants to live in the city after she graduates from high school.

What are we doing in North Carolina?
For everyone who has been wondering what we have been up to, here is a little update. My opinion of this area hasn't changed much and I seriously need to work on that foot in mouth disease I have. Honestly this place is...hummmmm howwww should IIIya put it??? just a little bit sssssslllllllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww!!!! And yes it is starting to show up in the childrens speach. GRRRRR hahaha. Nah it init so bayidd! We have had some good times. For example check out this grin!!!

We had such a great time at the fair in Kinston, NC. The weather was beautiful and the rides were very fun. Our favorite part was being able to see the 'Steppin Stones' performance. Unfortunately my camera wasn't charged so we didn't get any pics of the little Hallenbergers this time. They did such a great job of singing and dancing! Stacey kept telling me she wanted to run up there and join them. Which I am sure would have been hilarious and disaterous at the same time. The girls have had some great times playing with their cousins. I have enjoyed spending time with Michael's family as well. It was really great to make poodle skirts for Amber, Brittney, and Melody. They looked so cute in their costumes singing the oldies.
The girls have also been enjoying their ballet classes. Valerie has been standing in the different positions at home not noticing she is doing it. Stacey lives for Tuesdays! She gets so excited each week and when it finally gets here she wants to "get ready" all day long. I really wish her class was earlier in the day so I wouldn't have to keep telling her it isn't time to get ready yet.
And check out this little fish...I could barely get her out of the waterwings in Boise. Within a week of being here she was swimming like a pro.

Now if she will just let go of her nose. =)
We are looking forward to Halloween! The neighbors have told us that our neighborhood gets a bit crazy. Yay!! Something I can relate to. We have already started working on our costumes. Stacey wants to be a fairy, Valerie has decided on Esmerelda the gypsy, I am atempting pirate costumes for Kevin and myself. I found some fun decorations and I am going to try to make some tombstones to put in the yard. It should be a lot of fun.
I am going to try to keep this updated and current. We are missing our family and friends at home so leave us comments once in a while it makes us feel loved.
