I say total hogwash!!!!

It was a Sunday evening at about 10:30PM as we drove up to the Entebbe International Airport with our precious package we were voluntarily but hesitatingly allowing to leave us yet again. As if the pain of saying goodbye was not enough everything at that airport just rubbed salt into it all!!

NOTE: THERE MAY BE STRONG LANGUAGE USED IN THIS PIECE OWING TO THE EMOTIONS GENERATED IN THE PRODUCTION HEREOF. THOUGH IT IS FOR GENERAL READING, PARENTAL GUIDANCE IS ADVISED.......

When did I become persona non grata in my own country!!! When did I subscribe to the norm of being guilty before I am found innocent? And why can't I sit with loved one or atleast watch them leave without feeling like I am standing on the wrong side of the wall with Israel?

I am totally irked by the treatment at the airport!!!! And I say its total hogwash!!!!
I thought this is my country! I thought going to the airport was exciting- a chance to relive some silly childhood memory! I thought I could come and go as I pleased!!! What is this nonsense of I must vacate the premises in 30 secs or a minute depending on when I pay my dues???!!! This is my country!!! Or did it stop being my country!!!!? What's with all the paranoia??? If someone cannot do their job effectively, why should my liberties be affected?!*$%#@!?@!

As one parks their car to allow their loved one remove their luggage, the stupid copper is already bellowing outto them (with misplaced importance) to drive off mbu you cannot park your car there!!! Hogwash!!!! Then put up signs you imp!!!! And what is the actual definition of "parking"!!! I guess if you did attend driving school you'd be in a better position to determine the same, isn't it?

As you lift the luggage and look for a trolly, some half educated female twit holding her walkie talkie like a prized iphone yells out, "if you're not a customer you go and stand across the road or enter?" What do you mean, "customer"? What is this nonsense? What stupidity is being served up there? Customer? In my own country? And what is with standing on the other side of the road?

This is my country!!!! I should be allowed to go in and out of that airport as I please! Let the police ask me to identify myself and have me walk throught the metal detector (unless some health issue forbids it)if terrorism is what they are fighting but dont treat me like a terrorist before you have reason to. The treatment at the airport is propostrus!! If I get treated like that in my own airport, its no wonder that embassies feel they should keep us out of their countries at all costs even those that are not valuable enough to be included in the word "cost"!Hogwash!! Hogwash! Hogwash!!

We are a society that delights in family! We cherish escorting people to the airport to say our last goodbyes! We used to be allowed to see them even get onto the plane if you desired. Now- you have to stand on the opposite side of the road??????? BLOOMING HOGWASH!!!!!

In Honor of You

Never the anticipation of what the year would bring;
Would I conjure up in my entire being!
The hours dragged-and yet they run….
Days prolonged themselves by more than halves…and yet halved at each turn!
Emotions- a potent mixture so strong-so demanding!
A weary burden to be carried alone but would one gladly give away…
And yet therein, I learned of you…..
And suddenly I could not let go...I would not let go!
I learned of your care, your selflessness and your kindness….
I learned once more of my worth and being from your finesse…
And though the year still taunt me and struggles to slow my stead to relief
I know that though I be weary, I am the better thief
For I have you for me and that is my grip
For to have you is the greatest gift
That my God did give
In perfect timing-
In perfect form!
