A small gathering at my place

Image
Yours truly

Well, this entry has been postponed for too long so here goes nothing.

Had a small gathering with Ah Yan, Ah Jan, Sam and me at my place few weeks back.
It was so blAaaardy spontaneous that I virtually have no prepare for it.
Image

After having Kin Kin chilli Pan Mee that morning, I told Sam and Jan that I would make Tapas for leisure later.
Who knows, they are so into Tapas and we decided to buy the ingredients from Jusco (I think) and go straight to my place for Tapas.
Image

Sam brought her own absolute vodka and thank god we did that.

Image
Making Tapas isn't that difficult when you have the heart and experience (I made Bruschetta before), armed with my Tapas recipe book, I continued to make my choice of Catalan toasts and Wild Mushroom and allioli toasts.

ImageImage

It is cool preparing food with my friends, though, both of them ate my Baby Roma tomatoes more than helping me =.="

But nonetheless, mucho gracias, mi amigos.

Image

After finishing the last piece of Tapas, we brought Ah Yan back to my place again and we played PS2, card games, accompanied with vodka, Tapas and some....food... that I have no idea what it's called ^^"

Image

Lazy day, exhausting day. But full of fun.
and my Tapas taste really good :P heh heh!

Image
All right. That's all for now.
Till next time.

HAVE A TAPAS-FRIENDLY DAY

Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee @ Cheras

Okay the post has been dragged too long. So here it is.

Ever since I started working, hunting for good food has been on top of my list.
This time, the so-called best chilli Pan Mee is my target.

I didn't went to the original outlet (Jalan Dewan Sultan Sulaiman) but gone to the outlet in Pandan Indah, Cheras.

The differences between these two outlets are:

Cheras..............................Chow Kit
Hygiene: Cleaner..................Dirtier
Service : Rock......................Like a rock down your throat
Price : Malaysian economy.......Malaysian economy
Taste : Godly.......................Devilish Godly

(All of the above are compared from personal experience and other bloggers' experience I found through the net)

Image

Even though this new outlet is much bigger and they covered TWO rooms at the same time,
the food serving speed ain't fast enough.

Why?
Sadly they only have ONE kitchen to serve TWO shop lots.

It is like using one piece of toilet papers for two assess when you shit.

Image

I've tried the food, it wasn't that SUPER DUPER OH-MY-GOD tasty like how I thought it would.
But nonetheless, it sure taste so good you want to keep eating it (May be it's down to the psychological factor that we waited for so long, so it must be good, right?)

The chilli flakes is darn spicy, man, this is definitely not for the NOOBS in spicy food.
I put 3 spoonful of the chilli flakes and damn, I was wrong for doing that.

Image

Since I ordered dried mee, it is bloody dry and with chilli flakes on top, it is super spicy compare to the soup base as the chilli here has no where to go but with the noodles. -.-

The soft boiled eggs taste really good as the way to eat it is to mix everything together in the bowl and eat it after that.

Something like this...

Image

If I need to describe the 'journey' I've finished this bowl of noodles, it would be something like this...

A tough journey starts from zero, chewing strings of explosives in a fully-contained environment gave tonnes of bombardments in the area. As the explosives bombarded the reservoir of ice, ocean of saliva flows out and BAMB!!! SCREAMS of TEARS from the contained-environment sending signals to the brain to STOP EATING!! But heck, as a man, I'll not bow down. Carrying the burden of this spice of life, I've finished this journey finally.

Image

So, that's how the Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee's noodle taste like, I can't complain much as it does satisfied me in a way.
So, until next time.
Be careful of your food choice.

Next entry would be about the Tapas + Vodka party at my place.

TILL THEN

HAVE A SPICY DAY

Driving again after 6 years

So there I was, holding the steering wheel like my life depends on it. I was taught driving again by my uncle few weeks back, only one lesson from him so far.
And basically that is the only training I get.

And today...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
My brother decided to teach me driving...
and the first kilometres and beyond is by me T.T

Okay, okay, you might be saying...
"King is a wimp, how can driving be this tough?"

Well, think back to the days you first touched the steering wheel and hit the road w/o proper instruction and tell me how you feel.

Back to the story,
So there I was, reversing to get out of the parking lot, drive out from the condo,
straight into the road, without my brother helping.

He just sat there act cool smoking his cigarettes while talking to his gf with his IPhone about how bad of a driver I am...
Yes,  I love my brother.

First stop was to the nearby grocery store, and I nearly scratch a car, thank god I didn't.
It wasn't that tough, not much cars. and I can come back alive.

------------------end of part one--------------------

Part 2 happened just now, my brother asked me to drive to the nearby Steven's Corner mamak restaurant. It was around 12 am midnight. Dark and spooky....
BOoOOooo...

Finally gone to the main road, seriously, I need to practice more so that I won't be relying on him anymore. Though I dislike the way he taught me driving, but I still need him by my site, however, I don't think he is that willing after seeing how I drive =.=''

He did say in the end that he was afraid when he sat beside me, I mean, dude, I'm more afraid than you!!!

------------------end of part two-------------------

So there you go, my 'virgin'driving experience. I didn't tell anyone before going for a drive, though I did tell you, Chyi.
and thanks for your "comforting words". ZZzzzz...
I did save the world for you....
without killing anyone -.-

Tomorrow I will be driving by myself, this time, w/o him guiding me.

Pray for me, yall!

TILL THEN

HAVE A SAFE DAY

Look into the window of soul

Warning, the following content might have a minor degree of narcissism.
Read it with your own risk.

Okay, I was having a shower just now and suddenly a flash back occurred (Funny, this shit always happen)
I remember few weeks ago I was going to Sungei Wang to meet up with my friend.
On the way there, I was in the Starline LRT.

I forgot which station, but there was this girl.
About 165 cm tall, in her 20s.
She got an angelic face. Very pretty, a bit too thin for my liking though.

The moment she came into the train I noticed her. I believed she noticed me too.
How would I know?

Because she did this thing that I used to always do.
She looked away when I looked at her  :)

Damn, I can't stopped but put a smirk on my face when she turned around as I stared back at her :P

It is so fun to see her blushed and get nervous.
She was exactly sitting at the opposite of me and just when I thought, "Okay, she knows that I know she is looking at me, perhaps it is no fun to give her a sudden stare anymore"

Who knows, the moment I closed my eyes for a little 'doze' (I usually do this in buses and trains), she started to look at me again... and she thought I didn't know.

How do I know that?
It is because I caught her looking at me again when I give her a stern look in the eye.

Then after 5 minutes (Damn, that feels like eternity), I was closing my eyes again for a little rest, then open my eyes to see what is happening around.

There I saw her closing her eyes too.
It just get me wondering, is she copied me because she saw me dozing too?

I mean, after all the blushes that she gave me, how can I resist myself from having such a thought?

I was actually smiling everytime I caught her looking at me.
Damn, it was fun.

Actually I have more experience of this when I'm dating with my EX last time, but that will be another story.

So there you go, a little thought of mine.
I think the reason some people doesn't have this encounter before is because of them being too afraid to look people (or strangers) in the eye when you glance at them.
The eyes is like the handphone of your body, it transmits signals to the other person.
So use it wisely to your advantage.

The both Highlands

Dear loyal reader,

How have you been? As a professional blogger (ahem..) *cough cough*, I am now back to update you with the things I've went through those past few days I'm absent from this site. The following are the things I've done. Please, reader, bear with me.

*90 degrees bow*

----------------------------------------

So I went back to my hometown Taiping to reunite with my friends that came back from UK and Singapore. CF and Snow, oh, how much we miss you.
PK and Eddy too, you guys rocks!!!

The first trip we went is to have our breakfast in Ipoh, the Dimsum restaurant that everyone is talking about, no, not Foh San but yes, that gigantic Dim Sum restaurant is located just the opposite of the restaurant we went that day which is equally famous...

The Ming Court Hong Kong Tim Sum restaurant

--------WuuuUuuulaaalaaaaa----------

Compare to Foh San's, Ming Court actually offers more tasty Dim Sums and foods to its customer than Foh San's. For me, Foh San is more of comfort than taste. (Btw, I've been to both, and when it is in peak timing, Foh San's service is just as bad as Ming Court)

We kind of went there bloody early in the morning (Woke up at 5am, ready at 6am, and depart at 7am)
Reached there around...
For more detailed review on Ming Court's restaurant, try this link from j2kfm.com

8am?? Not quite remember but ya, it was crazy but it was worth it ^^

The dim sum was nice, the price was right... My friends have it for free, because I'm paying it -,-
But I did promise, and for you guys only.
No more treating until next year lol!

Then, we moved to Cameron Highlands....
Damn, bad choice, it took too long and Cameron highlands is just plain boring, thank god I have you guys to joke around ^^

Image

------------------------------------------

Basically my time in Taiping are spent eating famous foods and hanging out in cafes.
Laksa, New Prima, Taiping Sentral, and Pokok Assam roast pork are just some places/foods I've eaten. Hhmmmmm...

Surprisingly,
my aunt from KL came back to Taiping that same week and so I decided to join her so that she could drop me to Jeram when she return to KL.

And so, Jeram trip again.

-------------------------------------------

My Jeram friends are all super younger than me, (well not really)
my cousin brother Fliks yet again joined us for yumcha session with Xin, Tifanny, Pinkis and Beeboh...
Ahh~
visiting places at night with motor bikes in this haze-free wonder village is just cool and refreshing, especially with the company of you guys.

XOXO girls...

Yumcha, chatting and overnighting (betting... ahem...) has slowly becoming our routine when I'm back to Jeram.
Seems like I have to be back to make sure this 'tradition' to continue -,-
Thanks Xin and Fliks for the house ^^
If you are seeing this, I'm sponsoring beers and games in this coming December.
Just make sure you guys are free this time around -.-"

-------------------------------------------

Before I came back and able to be typing this entry, I was in Genting with Jeram friends and relatives.
Awwwhhh~
I feel warm swarming with your love and care. You guys are great, that makes me feels great too.

Great + Great = GREATNESS

Okay, I'm exaggerating here.
But you know what I mean.

No pictures for this as they must be sleeping by now after this exhausting trip.
.
.
.
same goes for me -.-

My new baby... SC 2.

Ohyeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah~

I have been away for a few days, don't blame me, blame the game itself...

Image

SOme of yyou might know, I have been ccRRaaaaAAzzzzyyy over this game called STARCRAFT 2.
Holyshit! Now I'm serious, this game is so good that it got me drooling over it when the beta phase came out like few months ago, now that I have the game, I just can't control myself from playing it over and over again on the Battlenet.

It was....

really....

AWESOMEEEEEEE!

-------------------------------------------------

Image

Compare to its pred3cessor Starcraft 1, this newborn baby of Blizzard(Gaming company) comes with whole rangE of new units and some quite familiar old units. THe added skills in majority of the units make it more diverse.

You are only limited by your own imagination when playing this.

So I have been playing the multiplayer game and fought with other players from over the world.
Came to know some friends from Australia, US and other countries.

SOme are nice, some are spice,
somE give you minerals, some destroy your base -.-

Overall, yes I'm a 宅男 (I don't know if they have a word for it) now, staying at home playing games, but come on, boys will be boys.

Games,
Crapping (literally),

All in a days work for us.

Though I know it won't be long before I start looking for another job and going to put my life together again. So until then, I might as well enjoy my life. Tomorrow need to collect the rope from UTAR... Zzzzz...

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY

The Judgement Day

The title says it all, but don't worry.

We will still be alive after today,
it is not like the world is crashing down,
It is not global type of Judgement Day like in the movie Independence Day.

It is just MY Judgement Day.

------------------------------------------------------

As you see, I have been working on this project for the past few months (2.5 to be exact)
It has been a ride, imaging yourself sitting in front of the computer at least 12 hours a day.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Can you imagine it? Please don't put Facebook inside your image of this -.-"
Working as a freelance translator is not as easy as it seems.
We have to look through all the available sources on the internet and pick the suitable ones.
.
.
.
.
.
.
It is like picking a needle from the sea,
Eating pork in front of Muslims,
Getting laid while wearing a chastity belt.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
It is tough trust me.

----------------------------------------------------

So after 2.5 months of working through the dialogues, historical backgrounds/locations/names of the great Mongol Empire...
By the way, I'm translating on the game Khan online, do google it if you have time.
It is a MMORPG kind of game.
It should be fun.

As I was saying, after finishing all the necessary translation I needed to pass the work, now I'm exactly 14 hours away from meeting my boss at Tropicana Mall.

It feels like all burden and weights totally came down,
weights...

Oh... Crap...
I haven't been going to the gym for the past 7 days, Alex (Gym owner) going to kill me =.="

I should start going for it again...
And I will bring a bullet proof kevlar just incase.

wait...

Instead of shooting me I think he will throw 3846457698475 of dumbbells at me T.T

----------------------------------------------

Anyway, Judgement Day aka D-Day is coming, and tomorrow will have a post on my new baby. ^^

TILL THEN

HAVE A GOOD NIGHT ^^

Geylang...

Freelance

Sounds like no life isn't it?
Yes it is if you start procrastinating like me in the first week =.="

So in the end, I'm going to say that I kind of understand what my life is for the next 6 months.
I planned it nicely,
this year will be the year for me to buy a car, insurance, starts saving, visit my Jeram and Taiping kaki friends.

Next year though, will be a bit different, I'm going to start going for Spanish courses to brush up my Spanish, oh yeah! And also going to learn a thing that I want to be kept a secret first. ^^

So, ya, that is all, damn the entry is long =.=
And thanks for reading it (if you do)

HAVE A NICE DAY -.=

Library and Otak-Otak 2009

I feel guilty,
for not telling her...

I might not look like it,
but in fact, I'm really feeling bad over it.

She has been with me for so long as time can remember,
She is the one I always talked to.

Through the ups and downs,
Lefts and rights...

She has always been there for me,
sorry...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
My blog.

Yes, it is my blog I'm talking about.
Feel bad for not updating much due to exam, so now I'm back with some pictures from last year (I know is a "bit" late, but heck, you are here anyway so might as well continue)

-------------------------------------------------

After hearing the hype over the newly open Library in The Curve, where the theme of the pub is... a Library... duh...

Before going there, I was actually imagining how would the place look like.
Would they wear those uniform where librarian wear but with a taste of sexiness?
And would they look like those pretty, young and carefree librarian that I used to see in my school days?

Image

Too much imagination ain't good,
As the old saying goes,
the higher your expectation,
the higher you will fall.

Heck, that is what I experienced that day.

Honestly,

Those waitresses look like those from the maid agency,
Christ! Those aunties ain't your daily sweet and innocent neighbours, they seriously need a total makeover.

Honestly, they look so bad until I don't even dare to take their pictures, so there will be none here.

Below are some pictures we took that day (Many others in Facebook though)

Image
Image
Image

The place though, do live up to its hype. This pub though don't have a dancefloor, does provide a lot of good interior design to make up for it. A large monitor screen for those that wants to watch football.
Basically it is just a place to chill out with friends, drinking some liquor/beer and just look around.
If you are lucky, you might see a magician lurking around trying to land some free drinks (And chicks too)

The only super duper drawback is the overcrowd issue.

Seriously, it is so packed until I can't move around freely,
it is almost like clubbing during the New Year Eve at Sanctuary The Curve type of crowded.

I have no choice but to squeeze through the crowd as if my life depends on it.

And yes, it was so darn noisy, every word I say has to be in the form of SHOUTING!!!!!
I SHOUT SO MUCH THAT DAY, I LOST MY VOIce the next day =.=

-------------------------------------------------

Next I'm going to talk about the trip to Otak-Otak at Tropicana City. I have been here twice, because their Otak-Otak just so good.

But the most impressive part is their interior decorations. They design it as if you are in a time machine flown you back while you step foot inside.

Why?

Image

Because inside is full with primary school's text books, guli, your grandmother's bycicle and tonnes of other childhood toys.

Ah~~
It sure brings back memory.

Image
Image
Image

Me and my friends can's stop playing the games while dining there, I mean, those Plane chess, Millionaire etc are just so fun to play with.
You can't really help yourself.

Image

Food wise, it was okay, their signature is the Otak-Otak, it taste good. But still, the decorations are the main dish here.

You will definitely have a good time.

That is all for now.
Still in the holidaying mood.
Going to prepare my plan for the future now.

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY (",)

Kampar trip - part 2

Image

While I was in Kampar, yours truly me has the chance of tasting and seeing some new things.

My grandma prepared some really alien-like dishes I've ever taste before, like my first encounter of eating belacan. It taste like heaven (literally) when I first try it.
Especially when it is prepare with petai. Hmmmm... hmmm... yummy!

Image
But I didn't find it nice after I know how they are actually prepared =.=
Why? This is because there are shit foreign things that are added indirectly without knowledge into the belacan.

Then,

It amazed me how old people keep themselves busy by doing things that we normal human beings won't do (Or should I say normal young adults won't do).

Image

This masterpiece was made by my grandma in a month. With some creativity juice flow, she came up with this creation that can be sold for a few tens of Ringgit.

Image

This baby over here, is called Kah Lui. It appears that this gigantic mutant-like fish is 13 years old. It might doesn't look that way in this puny picture.
But trust me, this Godzilla-size freak fish is huge for a fish his type.

Sadly, It died few weeks ago when I got back to Kampar for vacation. R.I.P. Kah Lui.

-----------Don't be fooled, I'm actually very kind------------

Now ladies and gentleman, I'm going to introduce you to one of the best laksa (may be the best) in Kampar.

Disclaimer: The laksa you about to see might not look convincing, and it might not look like the normal laksa you know. But trust me, the taste is great.

Image

This baby over here is one of the best laksa I've ever taste, honestly, before tasting this, I'm not a laksa man, in fact, I hate eating laksa due to my previous experience in primary school, where I nearly choked to bleed as I first taste the laksa.

But this laksa is different, it taste very fresh (not many people use this to describe huh? ^^) The mixture of its sourness and spiciness was just perfectly balanced.
The simple combination of raw onion rings, peppermint leaves and fu pei is what it makes it taste so good, and of course, the aroma gave out from the heavenly soup is just spectacular.

My uncle introduce me to this Kwan Yew laksa (I think that is what it is called). He says that he needs to eat it every week or else he would die.

The seller is actually an Ah Gua (transsexual?), but don't be fooled, his laksa is the best in the business even though he doesn't look like it.

Trust me on this, you are going to love it.

--------------------Boundary line---------------------

The funny thing in sub-urban town and urban area is the 'gaoness' of their drinks, the difference is obvious.

In the urban-like, steroid-pumped and well developed city, their drinks are mostly expensive and superbly diluted.

It is so diluted until you will mistaken lychee juice with plain water.

But not in rural areas.
Jeram is the kind of rural village that gives good'ol concentrated drinks.
I have the chance to taste one of the drinks there, it was this barli that makes me feel like writing about it.

Image

It is just a normal coffee shop's barli but damn, the taste is awesome. It is so concentrated until you will feel like ordering TWO barli drinks instead of one.

Then, there is this Claypot Yee Mee that I like it so much.
The reason,

It is the FIRST ever Claypot Yee Mee (煲仔面)I had, because of this, Claypot Yee Mee has become my second FAVOURITE noodle dish precede only by RAMEN!

Image

Honestly, the fresh prawns here add the extra "ohm!" that other Claypot Yee Mee never gives. You got to try it to believe it.

Hmmmm~

--------Ramen is like god, Claypot Yee Mee is like Confucious---------

Ops, look at the time, I have to start packing and get ready to go back to Taiping tomorrow.
Bye~

Till Then

HAVE A NICE DAY ^^

Kampar trip - part 1

Those were the places I've frequently visited. God grace it is just opposite of one another, if not I will be traveling a lot like a camel in the desert.

The second picture is the house where I stay, and the first picture is the house I visit to online and to cool myself down, literally (Air-cond ^^b).
The place is bloody spacious and nice, I just have to travel there everyday to feel the comfort. Hmmmm~

During the 1 month there, I'm "blessed" with visits from my little "adorable" cousins =.="

Some are FUN,

Some are just like GUNS!

Shooting me here and there with their frequent rounds of annoyance.
BAMB! BAMB! PIOW! PIOW! PIANG! PIANG! PIANG!

But of course, they are nice to play with when they don't have the 'gun' ^^
Especially Sim and Ting.

ImageThis is how it looks like at night

During the night of Chinese New Year, we kind of had a steamboat + birthday party at my place. Tonnes of cousins I have no idea of came by and it was a CHAOS!

Here, i would like to thank my superbly "yao yeng" cousin brother Fei for bringing me around Kampar and Ipoh for movies and to the Dept of Immigration. Thanks man.

Here are some of the picture I took while hanging out with them.

To be continued...

I don't know about you, but I think is bloody cool (^^,)

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY ^^

Give me some, Pokok Assam. (Bruschetta and Favourite hometown food)

I remember few months back I was in Taiping for a while before I left to Jeram (I think I mentioned this before but heck), I brought all my Bruschetta making tools back with me as well, because I want my mom to try my LEGENDARY dish...

HEHE!

But it will be my next post...

One of my favourite food is definitely Sambal Petal ^^
YUM YUM!

Yes, I know, some might argue it smells bad.
But heck! Smelly TauFu smells bad but taste good, Durian smells so bad until they are prohibited to be brought to planes, but guess what, we eat it too.

Same goes for Sambal Petai.

My mom's Sambal Petai is really one of the best I've taste, seriously, only her Sambal Petai are custom-made to its perfection.

Other than the normal ingredient such as onions, Petai, sambal chilli. Under my constant pressure (Ohyeahhh~), she added ketchup and a few slices of tomato into it.

HOLYSHIT!! This is why I'm alive!!

That little bit of sourness makes all the difference, especially when I like a bit of sourness in my dish ^^
With added prawns, this dish was meant to be eaten by everyone. Hope that I can learn it from my mom before it become 'fossilized'.

Next...

Whenever I'm back (Which is like 1000 years once -.-"), I will request my mom to get me some all-time favourite of mine such as this Lai Fen Xiu Yoke (Lai Fen serves with BBQ pork).

Everyone in my family loves it, in EVERY Chinese New Year, this is a must for breakfast. In fact, the whole Pokok Assam loves it, it is rumor to be one of the most popular food in Pokok Assam.

Because that famous Xiu Yoke some how taste 100 times better with this Lai Fen. Some eat it with Mee Rebus.
But both taste fine with this because that Xiu Yoke really is one of the best in the whole Malaysia, don't believe me?
Come and try it yourself ^^
If you are lucky to be able to buy it of course. (It finished damn early in the morning, like... 8am?)

to be continue...

TILL THEN

HAVE A NICE DAY ^^

and

Don't you think so??
