Trip to Colorado

We had a great trip to Colorado. We stopped in Dumas and got to spend some time with my mom and then we went to Colorado the following day. The first day B and I skied and the kids took lessons. The following day we took it easy and B pulled the kids on a sled behind the snow mobile. There were several days that the weather didn't cooperate and we had to stay indoors but we enjoyed our time with Pops and Bisus. The last day we were there the kids, Pops and I went sledding. It was a great time until K. asked to go one more time before we left. She changed her mind half way down the hill so she laid on her side which didn't stop her. She hit a mound of snow that someone had built up and she was airborne for a second and landed on her right shoulder. We took her to the E.R. in a nearby town and she had broken her collar bone. Initially the doctor thought she had broken her arm in two places as well, but when we took her to the doctor here he said if she did have a break (which he couldn't see from the x-ray he took) that it was too high in the arm for a cast so he just wanted her to continue wearing a sling. She has done so well with the broken collar bone. In fact, last night she went outside to play and didn't have the sling on. I had to make her come back in to put it on.

B, hide there is a policeman!

J, B and I went to the store yesterday and when we came out there was a police car parked outside one of the stores. J said, "Watch out, there is a policeman!" I told him, "Yes, I better watch it since I am such a bad person." J responded, "Not you, I am talking about Dad." Too funny!!

The other day B and J went to run errands together and J told his Dad to drive good. B said he does drive good and J said, "No you don't, you run red lights and you speed."

God's watchful eye!

Saturday B. was flying home from Florida and the airplane lost pressurization. Jason, the other pilot, and B had to put on their masks and descend quickly. He made it down and was able to land the plane safely. The mechanics in Florida said they could not duplicate the problem and told the guys to fly the plane back to Oklahoma on Sunday evening. The plane was already scheduled for maintenance so the pressure valves were added to the list of things to check. Sure enough there was a faulty valve on the plane that needs to be replaced. It is amazing to me that God took care of them on the way home from Florida and allowed a safe landing when they were in Florida. He is a good God.
By the way, B was suppose to be in Houston with his Grandfather but he will now leave tomorrow evening or Thursday morning. Please pray for his safety. After many tests the doctors have concluded that his Grandfather's prostate cancer is not back and that his trouble is in his lumbar. He has a disk that is out of place. That is a praise but the family is working on getting him to agree to assisted living. Please continue to pray for his salvation.

Tears of Joy

Woohoo!! J. got an excellent report from school yesterday and we are so thrilled. J's teacher told B. that their class had an indoor play day because of the cold weather. The teacher created an obstacle course with a balance beam and some tricycles and some cones. One little girl was afraid to go across the balance beam and J. went over and held out his hand for her to hold on to as she crossed the balance beam. When she had made it through the obstacle course he let her in front of him in line so she could try it again and he would be there to help. The teacher's eyes were welling up with tears as she told B.
