It's a Wonderful Life!

We would like to take a minute to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year! As we approach the end of 2009, we would like to express our gratitude to our family and friends who have shown their unwaivering support to us over this past year. It has been quite the emotional roller coaster with the birth of our beautiful boy and then so shortly after, the loss of employment. We honestly cannot adequately explain our deep appreciation for those who have kept our spirits high, lent a shoulder to cry on, or just listened in a time of need. Our little family has so much to be grateful for! We are truly blessed and we know that it is the hand of the Lord in our lives. He has watched over us and has always provided a way to get through our trials. We know that these trials have strengthened and humbled our family and we know that we will carry the lessons learned from them throughout our lives. Thank you again. We love you!

7 Months Old!

Yeah, we realize it's been way too long since we've updated this thing. We've been reminded numerous times that we need to get on it and we acknowledge that we are slackers. The worst part about it is that you have all missed out on our tiny little man growing ever so quickly! He learns so fast and we just can't believe he is 7 months old! He still amazes us each and every day. He is constantly trying out new things and learns new tricks all the time. Jack has now mastered crawling (started well over two months ago!), climbing stairs (yikes!), "talking", and has 7 surprisingly sharp teeth that he loves to dig into just about anything. He is extremely active and has a lot of his father's personality. He is a total boy and shows no fear. He can also be very chill and snuggly if the mood hits him right. Jack has yet to sleep through the night and definitely puts up a fight when it comes time to go to bed. It has become quite the battle! He is such a beautiful boy and we are so proud to have him! We can't wait to share our first Christmas as a little family! It has been so much fun to witness all of his firsts and be there to love and guide him along the way. We love you silly little man! Here are some of our more recent pics... Enjoy!

One Month Old!

Can't even believe it's been a month. We are so wrapped up in our little guy that time seems to cruise by. At least we're taking lots of pictures as we cruise on. Jack is growing more studly every day. His hair is beginning to lighten and he's already grown out of some of his newborn clothes. But still he is so tiny that the next stage of clothes are too big. He is just too sweet! He also is smiling more and more. Some of the smiles are inadvertent, but now he is doing it on purpose. Today as I left for work, I told him I would be home later and he gave me a big smile. When I got home from work, I told him Daddy was home and again I got another great smile. Too precious. We're trying hard to get a really good photo of him smiling. We've kinda got a couple, but none baby magazine worthy. For as cute as he is, we'll definitely get lots more prize winning photos of our little Jack.

One Week Old!

Today our little man is one week old. Such a big boy! Even though Jack has been tied to his light bed almost the full duration of his young life, we are loving every second with him. He is such a miracle. We are extremely thankful to our Heavenly Father for this little guy. Which brings me to my next topic, Jack's name. The name Jack means, God is Gracious. It also is a second name or nickname for Jon. Even before we knew what the name meant or even that he was a boy, Jack had always been one our favorite names. We especially liked how well it went with his Granddad's name, Kelly. So only 3 months into the pregnancy and Jack Kelly was our #1 boy name. And now after we've seen him and have got to know him, Jack Kelly is a very fitting and beautiful name for our little boy.

Our little glow worm has a Buddy!

Yesterday Jack had another appointment to get his heel pricked. He actually didn't even cry this time. He's a tough little guy. We later got the results of the test and were told that his bilirubin levels had come down. But not enough to take him off the bed. His first appointment with the pediatrician is Imagethis coming Thursday. So Jack will have to stick to the bed for another week. It's kinda frustrating. We don't think he really needs to be on there for that long. But doctor's orders. And of course we'll do anything for the health and well being of our little man. Later that evening, Gma Shaunna and Aunt B-Train stopped by with a little gift for our glow worm. Yep, it was a glow worm buddy. How precious are they?!

Our little glow worm.

As many infants do, Jack has spent his last day in this silly light bed. Jack's bilirubins have gone a little wild and have caused him to get a bit of the jaundice. Tuesday morning he had his heel pricked and they tested him for this jaundice. A few hours later, we received a phone call from the pediatricians office telling us that Jack's levels are way too high and that they're sending out his bilibed asap. So when he's not eating, sleeping, or pooing, he's lying in his space man light bed. Hopefully he'll be back to his awesome little self soon. He's got plenty more to do then lie all day as a glow worm. We are loving all the firsts that we're experiencing and will continue to blog on.

The car ride home.

48 hours after Jack's delivery, we finally were able to go home. Staying at the hospital has it's positives and negatives, but there's nothing like coming home. Here are a few pics of Jack loaded up and ready to go. He's just a tiny little guy. But as we all know, he soon will be filling out that car seat.
