Happy Anniversary 12/21

ImageSunday was mine and Kyle's 6 year anniversary... we had reservations to do our annual date night with the McCray's at El Gaucho, but had to reschedule for next Sunday due to all the snow. We did go out to lunch locally and enjoyed the day playing in the snow at my parent's house with the kids! Good thing the weather wasn't like this on our wedding day!! (here's a picture of us at the Christmas party)

Princess Ava

ImageNot sure why this picture is sideways (because it's not when I view it on my computer) but anyway, here's Ava taking a bath to warm up after another day of sledding. (Doesn't it look cold outside)
ImageHere's a series of pictures of Ava brushing her hair after her bath =)
Image"My hair's almost perfect"
Image"Oh, I sure am a cute girl"
ImageThere's that smile I love =)

Sledding 12/20

ImageMy parents watched the kids while we went to our Christmas party... the kids couldn't wait to do some sledding. I know it looks really late in these pictures, but it was really only 4:30pm.

My 3 Month Old Baby!

ImageCarter is 3 months old today =) Here's a close up of my sweet baby!
ImageCarter's latest fascination is with his toys. He loves for someone to hold them up so he can look at them. Some of them he can even grab and put into his mouth (like the one he's holding in this picture) He's starting to spend more time alert during the day... he loves to look at himself in a mirror and laugh, he likes his play mat, and he still hates tummy time.
ImageHere's my big boy sitting on our chair, you can see his chubby belly in this picture =) He weighs about 15 pounds already! And I can't get over how much he looks like my mom's baby pictures. Especially in this photo.

Present Wrapping 101

ImageAva's Theory on Wrapping Presents: Use as much tape as possible.
ImageNannie is going to have a fun time opening this present with all that tape on there =) (I blurred out the box so she wouldn't be able to tell what this is)

Starbucks with Mommy

ImageYesterday, Ava and I got all ready for preschool (yesterday was supposed to be her last class before Christmas break), but when we got there, we found out her class had been canceled because of the snow. So, we decided to go to Starbucks and have a girls afternoon =)
Image A hot drink was much needed on such a freezing cold day (actually freezing is an overstatement... it was well below freezing!)
ImageAva is now a starbucks lover too!

Let it Snow!

ImageThe kids were so excited to wake up to snow this morning! We didn't get a lot, only about an inch, but to them it could have been a foot. Here's daddy helping Ava get her gloves on.
ImageThe kids all bundled up. They played outside for about 20 minutes before they came in all red-cheeked and frozen... 20 degrees and windy felt so ridiculously cold.
ImageAva making a snow ball.
ImageCristian trying to make a snowball
ImageReady, Aim...
ImageFIRE. This snow is not the best snow for snow ball fights or snow man making... it is so cold outside that the snow has no wetness to it. It's just blowing all over the place like fresh powder. This would be great snow for skiing =)
ImageI got Carter all bundled up so we could go out and take pictures to document "Carter's first time in the snow." Well, I laid him down on my bed while I got dressed, and within that 3 minutes, he was OUT. He was just too cozy in his coat, hat and boots I guess.
ImageSleepy baby. I guess his snow pictures will have to wait =)

Sky Island Lights

ImageI took the kids to Sky Island to see all the Lights last night after dinner. We went through the drive through at Starbucks and then weaved our way around the housing development. We were amazed at how "ALL OUT" people went with their Christmas Lights. There were lights on every tree and shrub, lining driveways and walkways to the front door, and around all the windows and garages. And almost every house in the neighborhood participated. The kids loved all the snow globes and the house with the dancing lights!
ImageSeveral houses even had props... manger scenes, snow globes, blow up Santas and Snowmen, etc etc etc. It was definitely a fun activity, you should go check it out if you have a chance and live in the area!
