"Here's lookin' at you kid"

I'm always amazed at the things that Kevin comes up with while talking to Colin. It cracks me up.
He is so creative...whether it be talking about the Bill's draft picks or adding his own funny lines to books while reading to him. This morning he channeled Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca. Hey, whatever works!

Chris comes to town...

One of our most favorite people happened to be in town yesterday for work! He was only here for a day, but at least he got to come over and meet Colin and go to dinner. We miss Chris and his fiancee Amy SO much! Although it is a year away, we are looking forward to celebrating their wedding in Little Rock next May. It was so nice to see you Chris!

Photos of the day

I gave Colin a bath this morning and grabbed the camera after getting him dressed. I LOVE how light his hair looks after a bath! His eyelashes are completely blonde. Never did I think that I would have such a light baby. This boy really is changing every day. And by the way, does he look like his Daddy, or what!?!

Paging Doctor Bridget...

Image
Colin's Aunt Bridget graduated from Med School today! The family is up in NYC witnessing this spectacular event. We are SO sad that we couldn't be there too, but I hope she knows how proud we are of her. Congratulations Bridget! We love you!

Grandma Donna

My Mom left today to go back to Rochester. It was a sad night in the Tracy house without her. She was such a big help while she was here. Colin loves his Grandma Donna and so do I. We will miss you, and can't wait to see you again!

Chick Magnets

We took my mom to Pinehurst for lunch yesterday. It is a beautiful area, but should be named the retired golf capital of the world. My mom and I went into a little shop leaving Kevin outside to feed the baby.It turns out Colin attracts the older women because when we came out, Kevin was surrounded by swooning ladies. You can only imagine the scene. My mom and I couldn't stop laughing.I wish I would have gotten a picture of the mayhem, but a picture of the two chick magnets will have to do.

Stinky boy gets a bath

Colin was not too happy while getting his first bath. These pictures are so pathetic!

Discovering the Rainforest Activity Mat...

We put Colin's activity mat together and put him under it this afternoon. He really loved it! He was so alert. I love these shots of him looking around and exploring his new toy.

A glimmer of red and gold...

As you know, I live in a Buffalo Bills world. Everyone seems to forget that although I like the Bills and support the team, my heart belongs to the San Fransisco 49ers. This is my Dad's favorite team, so naturally while growing up, I followed suit.

Before I even got pregnant, my Dad got me a 49ers infant hat and booties set. I think it was a nudge for Kevin and I to get started on grandchildren. The hat and booties have now found thier rightful place on little Colin. I know he will be wearing his fair share of Buffalo Bills apparel, but at least he got to sport a little piece of 49ers red and gold.

Thanks for visiting Dad! It was so nice having you. I know Colin enjoyed it too.

"Oh, that's a good one! He looks like he is leaning on a hockey stick!"

That was the comment made by the hockey-loving Grandfather when he saw this picture.

Our first family portrait...

Definitely not perfect, but it's a keeper.

The 'Rents are in town...

My parents got into town this week to visit and meet Colin. It is so nice having them here...and thank goodness they came when they did since I had to go to the emergency room the day they arrived. Long story short...mastitis. But, all is getting better now.

Of course my mom scooped Colin up as soon as she walked in the door, and has earned the nickname "CG". Yes, this does stand for Crazy Grandma.

I'm sure we will come up with a nickname soon for Grandpa Joe.

Happy Mothers Day...one day late

Colin came just in time for me to celebrate Mother's Day this year. It was a special day, and Kevin made it even more special by whipping up some manicotti for dinner! It was delish!

But I do have to say that the past week has been a rough one. I know it all comes with the territory...constant feedings and no sleep are to be expected. I'm not complaining, we are just exhausted. While on the phone with my mother, she told me that my Nana (paternal grandmother) used to say that "mothers earn their stripes." Sure, I have always known that mothers are amazing people. I guess going through it first-hand I can appreciate all the work that mothers do even more. Nana, I hope I earned some stripes this week!

I would like to give a special "shout out" to our mothers because I definitely know they've earned their stripes! We can't wait for Grandma Donna and Grandma Patty to meet Colin. I know they will continue to be amazing Grandmothers.
Both our mothers sent such beautiful flowers. Thank You!

Just chillin' on the back porch...

We love sitting out on the screened porch in the backyard. Last night was such a gorgeous night outside so we took full advantage to relax. I promise I will post a picture soon with Colin's eyes open. I had to take his hat off to showcase his full head of hair.

Some special visitors

Dana came to visit Colin in the hospital. It is nice having such a good friend only an hour away!
Then, Grandpa Jim and Aunt Bridget made a trip down from NY and stayed for a few days. It was so nice having them here! I know Colin enjoyed all of the love and hugs!

And Baby makes three...

Image
Colin Patrick Tracy made his arrival on May 4th, 2009 at 1:50am. He is 7lbs 10oz and 19 inches long. We will post again soon-it's kind of hard to do it from the hospital using an iPhone :)
More soon...

Not much going on here...

Just an update!
We went to the doctors today and everything seems to be going well. The doctor said I am 1 centimeter dialated, which is really a fancy way of saying the baby can make his arrival in a few days or even weeks.I am supposed to be due on Monday the 4th, but we will see. Now it's a waiting game...lets hope that he comes sooner rather than later!

The doctor is "guesstimating" that this baby is 8 pounds or bigger. While she was feeling my stomach she kept saying "There seems to be a lot of baby in there." Oh boy.

We will keep you posted!
