From Leila's Lips 2016

I found Leila playing with a calculator at my mom's house.  She informed me she just had to text her friends Aubrey, Hailey, and Brynn. January 2016

Jason hauled away our Christmas tree and Leila was so upset.  Later that evening, she told him that he was the Santa grinch who took away our Christmas tree.  January 2016

"Look what you did to my face!"  She picked this up from us as we often tell her to look at our faces to see if they are happy or sad with what she is doing.  January 2016

"Flushing is kinda hard work." January 2016

Leila went over to my mom's for a sleepover.  When she walked inside to the kitchen and said, "You almost forgot to clean this messy mess!"  February 2016

"There is one more character left!"  She says this anytime she feels like someone is being forgotten.  February 2016

During a field trip to the Bean Museum, the presenter asked the kids what animals have scales.  Leila replied, "My sister Ellie has scales!"  February 2016

When we are at mom's for dinner, Leila finishes well before anyone else and then often gets mad that she doesn't have anyone to play with.  One week she walked over to Jared and pointed out that he had one peach left on his plate.  She proceeded to take his fork and stab the peach.  I thought she was going to eat it.  Instead, she fed it to Jared and said, "Now you're all done!  Go put it in the sink and you can play with me."  March 2016

She had a brief stint with twin imaginary friends Caddy (boy) and Cappy (girl).  For about three days straight she would talk about them and how they met at the light up glow house.  And they were going to come to our house and sleep in her room, but not until Tuesday.  By the time Tuesday finally rolled around and they didn't actually show up, she was very disappointed and said that "Caddy and Cappy just need to be real!" March 2016

She woke up one morning with a hoarse voice and immediately proclamed, "I'm talking like a boy!" March 2016

"Girls wear dresses to church and boys wear...(pauses)...handsome clothes to church!" December 2016

Awesome April

April 2
Ellie loves to climb on everything and feels so proud of herself when she conquers a new height.

April 7
Did I mention she likes to climb?  She thinks this bottom drawer is her own personal step stool.

I went to 3 different stores today and every one of the cashiers remarked "What big, beautiful brown eyes she has!"  I hadn't noticed.

Ellie is 18 months!

Ellie is now 18 months and that means she got to go to nursery today!  Hallelujah!!  At 18 months she:
*  loves to climb on EVERYTHING
*  will not leave anything in a drawer where it is supposed to be
*  sleeps like a champ
*  loves following around her big sister
*  doesn't like being in the car, especially if Leila isn't there
*  doesn't talk much yet
*  smiles constantly
