I'm obviously in the bad blogger mode again. I guess that's what happens when you are getting used to having 2 kids but I feel like I'm getting in control of life again so that's good.
At the beginning of the month we got to have my dad here for the weekend. Since he didn't get to be here for Addison's blessing (for those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, its kind of like a Christening), we planned to do Bailey's while he was here. It was a great couple of days. We had alot of fun chatting and Addison loved the attention from Grandpa. The blessing was very nice and we took the opportunity to get some pictures after church.
Addi has started being a stinker when it comes to taking pictures. I'm pretty sure she's pointing to an airplane in this one.
Brian came down for the weekend too. I know this is not a very flattering picture of him or Addi but I thought it was too funny not to post.
Ahhh, kisses from Grandpa. :)
This is us and Chad's grandpa. The reason why Addi is actually smiling in this one is because my dad and Brian were getting her to laugh. :)
Bailey in her dress.
We're so glad Dad and Brian were able to visit. In an effort to make the blog unbiased, both girls are going to get a section on this post.
Addison
The other week we went over to Chad's grandpa's house to help do some yardwork. Addi saw everyone else weeding the garden and thought "I can do that!" She was seriously picking weeds for like an hour. I was really surprised at how focused she was at doing her task.
This girl has always been picky about what she eats. Luckily, her palate is slowly expanding but some of her favorite foods are kindof peculiar... 1) pickles. She would eat these at every meal if I let her.
Sour cream: She LOVES sour cream. The other night we opened a new carton and put it on the table and then walked away. When we turned around, Addi had managed to take the carton and was eating spoonfuls of it.
Addi is a very helpful older sister. She loves getting diapers and wipes for Bailey as well as helping her get the pacifier in her mouth. Sometimes the pacifier placement is a little rougher than I would like but its all done in love right?
This is Addi's new backpack. She loved wearing it around the house. Little does she know that I bought it for our trip next month and it has a leash that I can attach. Bwahahaha!
This girl is getting more and more dangerous. She can climb pretty much anywhere now and can reach the kitchen counters. The other day she walked into our room and when I went in a few minutes later, she had gone into the bathroom and managed to get into the tub...
She has mastered the fishy face.
Addi loves to help clean. She'll steal wet wipes and start cleaning our kitchen chairs and the windows on our porch door. She also really loves using the broom. We need to find an Addi size broom and really put her to work! :)
This next photo shocked Chad. I let Addi go outside after the rain the other day and play in the puddles. Chad thought someone had abducted his wife and replaced her with someone else. Addi loves anything involving water so you can bet that splashing in puddles was a big hit.
Speaking of water, we've had alot of fun in the past week playing with friends. This picture is from the other day when Addi got to go over to a friend's grandma's house to play in the pool and run through the sprinkler. She wasn't quite sure what to do with the sprinkler but had fun anyway.
Addi has a bunch of friends in our ward that were born pretty close to when she was and we had a big swimming party with everyone down in our courtyard the other day. We were outside for over 2 hours playing!
Bailey
This little girl is 2 months old today! I can't believe its already been that long but at the same time, the first month and a half were pretty rough on her and the rest of us, so I'm happy we've made it this far without any major casualties. I didn't mention this in the last post but Bailey started being really ornery at about 2 weeks old. I felt like she was either crying hysterically or sleeping. Chad was allergic to dairy (its really the protein in cows milk that's the problem) as a baby so we took Bailey's discomfort as a sign that she had inherited that trait as well. I went off dairy and it seemed to help a little but she was still really gassy and uncomfortable so about 2 weeks ago I also stopped eating anything with soy. It turns out that infants with dairy issues also tend to react to the soy protein negatively. Not gonna lie, finding things to eat is a bit of a challenge for me now but its TOTALLY worth it and its like we have a completely different baby now! She's super smiley almost all of the time and I fall in love with her more and more every day. It also doesn't hurt that she's started giving me the amazing gift of 4 hours of continuous sleep most nights. That's way better than the 1 1/2 to 2 hours I was getting before!
Even before Bailey was born, I could tell that she was not nearly as laid back as her sister. She was constantly moving and stretching inside of me and she hasn't stopped. We laid her on stomach one day back at the end of April and she rolled over! I tried to get a video of her doing it again but I got this instead. The action picks up around 40 seconds. (sorry for the crying. This was still in her ornery stage)
She's a mover!
The other day I put her down for some tummy time and a few minutes later I heard a slurping noise. Bailey had discovered her hand and was trying to devour the whole thing! I hope you can see how big her mouth is opened in this picture.
I dressed the girls in matching outfits the other day (I know, I know. I'm a cruel mother) and wanted to take a picture of them together but Addi really didn't want to cooperate so Bailey got some individual pictures. This is her saying "Ok Mom, I've kindof had enough. Can you please let me lay down now?"
The rest of the pictures are pretty much just to show you what a cute smiley baby she is. :)
I had to put this one on just to show you how huge her eyes are. I love it!
I'm so grateful for our two cute girls! And for a husband that helps me keep my sanity when it would be really easy to lose it.
