Some Updates

I have been so busy with school, I have not kept up the blog. So here are some updates:

We are still in Philly, though we have moved, again. Fall has come here and all the trees are turning gold and red. It is very beautiful. The kids and I are loving it. Skyler asks me everyday when it is going to snow. The car is still being fixed. Skyler is starting to like school more. He is still kind of shy. Saydie is as busy as ever, though, having Skyler in school has helped. They play so cute now. She waits for him at the bus stop everyday and they race each other home. Things have been picking up, so that is good. Everything is just normal for a little while. It's nice.

Weekend Visit

My little sister Alicia and her husband Dane flew into Philly this last weekend. We had a great visit with them, seeing all the fun historical stuff in the city. We even drove out to Valley Forge for a pick-nick lunch. Dane said he is going to post a slide show in their blog, so I am only putting up a few pictures.

This is all of us standing in front of Liberty Hall, the place where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed. It was very cool to be able to walk through it.
We ended the day with dinner from a cheese steak cart. Yes, we had to have a "real" Philly Cheese Steak. They were very delicious.Image

New York, New York!

Charles worked in Orange, New Jersey this last week. We got looking on the GPS and seen that the Statue of liberty was only 8 miles down the road. We decided we would eat our PB&J at Liberty park, and enjoy the view of Lady Liberty. While there we could not resist driving across the river into the city. We drove all over. It was crazy. People do not know how to drive! Taxi's and busses practically run you off the road if you are not paying attention. There were thousands of people everywhere and piles of garbage. We saw China Town and the Brooklyn Bridge. We drove up and down Park Ave and 5th Ave. We stopped at Ground Zero where the Trade Center Towers fell. We went to the Empire State building. All in all the day was AWESOME!

Saydie's Birthday

Image

I wanted to say

Thank You

to all who sent birthday cards/presents for Saydie. She had a wonderful birthday. We had cake and ice-cream and sang happy birthday. It was nice to be able to have a day at home. We had to have cake for breakfast, Saydie just couldn't wait any longer. Charles got up with her, bright and early, and made her chocolate cake. I think dad was just as excited for the cake as Saydie was. Although, judging from the picture, I don't think dad knew how old she was turning. She is four not three. :) They didn't wait for the cake to cool before frosting it, so it was deliciously warm and gooey. Image
Yesterday we got our rental car--finally! Saydie wanted to go out for ice-cream so we went to Rita's. Saydie had been asking to go all summer and now was so excited to be able to. She ordered the Swedish fish flavor (It really tastes like Swedish Fish) and used her birthday money to pay for it. She made a big deal over paying for it herself. She even made sure that she bought her brother an ice-cream, too. I am so proud of how grown up she is getting.

Also, we want to say Happy Birthday to Nate and Grandma.
