Skyler's Christmas Concert (2nd grade only)

He heard Charles laugh and is looking for him in the crowd.

Now he finally found him.
The teacher gave the kids 30 to wave at mom and dad
so they would get it out of their system.

Poor little boy in the front row was so nervous he threw up all over the stage.

Image
Of course the smell (and chunks on the stage)
caused a chain reaction and at least a dozen more threw up as well.
Skyler didn't throw up but told us after that he came close.
Not very discretely either.

At Last We Saw Each Other....

I cannot believe it has been a whole year already! Christmas is a mere week away and the end of 2010 is just around the corner. We have been very busy at our house. Charles loves that he is able to stay home with the kids for a little while. (I love it, too. No babysitters and I don't have to do dishes! ;)

Charles has been working, doing little side jobs here and there, just enough to keep him busy. Skyler and Saydie are getting so big so fast. They are so excited for Christmas this year. They are at that perfect age, where they are big enough to really get into it, but not so big that they are too cool for it.

Yesterday, we went and got a tree. The kids decorated it beautifully. After we plugged in the lights, we made Zonkers and Candied Graham Crackers. Charles turned on some Christmas music and it finally felt like Christmas. We all snuggled up and pigged out on our treats while we watched "White Christmas". It always makes me laugh at how the kids get so into it and sing along.

I don't think we will get a white Christmas here, though. The weather has been teasing us. We have had a few snow flurries here and there and it is very cold, but no snow yet. At work, one of my jobs is to help keep the leaves cleaned out of the pond (a salt water pond/waterfall) it has been so cold, the whole thing froze solid, including the waterfall. I also get to play around in the tunnels from the castle to the old church and other adjacent buildings. It's both really cool and kind of scary at the same time.

Charles and I both have the whole holiday off together! We are both excited to be able to just sit around the house with nothing to do. School doesn't start again until January 18, 2011, so I have a good long vacation. I haven't gotten my grades in yet, still have one more final to take on Monday. Maybe--if my grades are good enough--I might post them for you.

Everyone is healthy and doing well. We have no complaints. We hope everyone else is having as good a Christmas as we are.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Halloween

OK, I'm caught--I'm guilty of forgetting to take any Halloween pictures! Luckily Charles took some with his phone--I missed most of it because of school mid-terms.
We had a great time even though it was very cold. We took a hay ride, made smores over a fire, had hamburgers and hot dogs, sipped hot apple cider, and stuffed our faces with CANDY! Here are the pictures we have (Thanks Charles, for remembering to take some :)

He just found Charles in the crowd :)
Poor kid lost two teeth the day before Halloween
(plus, he still hasn't grown one from the last tooth he lost).
He really looked like a Jack-O-Lantern with three gaping holes in his teeth.

Brock, Zane, and Skyler are making their best "bad guy" faces.

Saydie was really into being a cop, eh-hm, excuse me...
Police. Officer.

Just before the kids all left, we lined them up for a picture,
Saydie and Skyler are at the top.
We had a Police Officer,Swamp thing is
a soldier from Call of Duty (or some other similar game), Nacho Libre,
three Star Wars clone soldiers, a Cat, a Cowgirl,
a Skeleton (the cat and skeleton are twins),
and I think a Grim Reaper.

Its Been a While

Life has been a little crazy lately. I don't have much time for anything, let alone blogging :o).
Here are some picture of Saydie's birthday and the first day of school. Bet you can't guess which was her favorite present. Her daddy really spoiled her!

The next door neighbors have been so good to us. They spoiled Saydie! They gave her an IPod. She also got a pair of shoes and a barbie doll form them.

<3 Thank You to all of the Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, and Neighbors for making Saydie's Birthday so special. <3

Time for School

there is always a little lul before school starts when the kids start to get fussy and board with summer. For instance, Saydie just walked into the kitchen, looked at me for a second then fell face down to the floor. Arms and legs sprawled out like giant letter X she moaned, "Ahhh-ooooh...I'm dead. Mom, did you hear me? I'm dead."
I guess they are ready for school to start. Skyler seems to be getting more and more cranky as well.
Other than the humdrum our summer has been pretty good. We had an awesome fourth, and are excited for the big Labor Day picnic coming up. For now we are content to just continue hanging out.

I am so glad we made a fire pit. The kids have loved it.

It's Official!

It's official! I registered for classes at Arcadia today. Statistics and Chemistry at the same time! Yikes!

I hope Charles is ready for all my stress. ;o)

I have five classes in all, plus a lab. On Tuesday I start at 8am and end at 10 pm (not counting the 45min--1 1/2hrs with traffic--commute).

Hang in there Charlie, I am just getting started.

I am so lucky he is such a great guy! Thanks Honey! I sure love ya!

Just Hangin Out

I have been so bad about posting! The kids are out of school, I am out of school, and Charles is working away. There is not much going on. We are just hanging out and enjoying the summer. Here are a few pictures of our summer so far. I am sorry, I didn't get any pictures on the Fourth :( though we did have a great time and the food and fireworks were really good.

Image
We like to roast marsh mellows and eat Smoores.

Image
Image
We also like to spend the hot days swimming!
Lots of friends to swim with us.

Charles watching close. The kids swim so good now.
Image
Sometimes we just chill and watch the fire.
Image
Image
Saydie puts a wet towel on her face to cool off.
It's not only hot from the fire, but it's also really warm out some nights.
Image
Of course, even when though we say not to, the kids always have to play in the fire.
Image
Image
You know what they are thinking...
Image
Yep! They were laughing themselves sick playing this game.
Image
Image
The kids play night games and the grown ups chat. Evenings are quiet and mellow. There is not much to write about because there is not much happening. Which is ok. We have had enough adventure to last us for a little while.
