Kindergarten

I took Saydie for Kindergarten registration today.

She is the youngest of all 125 kids enrolled. She is so ready to be in school, even being so young.

She spent a good 30 minutes in front of the mirror getting ready to go because she was so excited.

She did awesome when they took her to the classroom by herself for 2 whole hours for a practice day.

She made new friends and did better than some of the older kids--some of which had to be brought back to the parents in tears.

Sigh! She is not a baby any more; she is all grown up!

Little Pink Curlers

     All little girls remember those fuzzy, little, pink, sponge curlers. I bought some for Saydie about a year or so ago. She has never let me even suggest putting them in her hair--the mere thought of it would put her into a fit.

     But, while helping me to unpack the other day, she spied them and asked about them. Amazed and nervous, I began to explain what they were. Surprised that she was so calm and interested, I worked up the courage to ask her if we could try them.

      Very shyly, she agreed. She was so adorable! She let me roll them into her hair and then left them in! She even let me use the blow dryer! Even more surprising, she didn't freak out when I took them out and told her how pretty she was.

     She is such a good little girl. I am sure it will be a while before she lets me curl her hair again, but we sure had a fun day the one time she did. :o)
