Well for those of you that are in contact with us daily you've already heard about what we have been going through with Hunter for the past month (maybe more than once?). He has some kind of infection on his leg, right on the shin that has been getting bigger and more painful for him that has been worrying us... He's been in to the doctor 2 times, had blood taken, got some yucky, heavy antibiotics (which gave him some yucky, heavy diarrhea). With no results and the infection was still getting bigger, swelling up his leg from the knee down to the foot!
So on Friday we were sent to a dermatologist who took a skin biopsy, while Hunter was a awake! Lucky for us (me) Clint was off of work and came with. Poor Hunter was so brave and didn't cry but he got poked a lot to numb the area. I was up at his head trying to distract and cover his eyes (he didn't want to see anything) (neither did I) :) I would look over at Clint, who you'll remember likes to kill, clean and eat any mammal, bird or fish..... the big manly guy who nothing grosses him out.... and he gave me a look---like he was going to lose it! He said the doctor cut soooo deep to get his 'sample' and Clint just couldn't take seeing his son getting cut into. Isn't he sweet? :) hee hee
Now the skin sample is sent off to the labs, Hunter has stitches on his shin and it's Christmas week so I'm sure we won't be hearing anything till next week. He did get put onto another antibiotic (yay) and last night when we changed the bandages for the first time it looked like some of the swelling and redness has gone down!! Maybe this new medicine will do the job? Until this is cleared up he isn't playing any soccer which has him pretty bummed. I'll keep you all posted~!

I just had to laugh at the sight of Colby this morning before school. He put it all together himself, I had nothing to do with it! There was only 1 inch of snow on the ground for pete's sake! All I kept thinking was "Ralphie! Help me up, come on Ralphie!" hee hee Now if I could just remember the little brothers name from The Christmas Story.... trivia time--don't cheat, if you've seen the movie already this year! Look at how little his head is compared to the rest of him! Oh my good gosh, I've got tears!

Here's our Gingerbread house lane! We had 7 kids (and a couple of adults) all in my kitchen constructing houses on Sunday. Needless to say as soon as I'm done posting this I need to go and mop..... It was sooo much fun and I highly recommend this activity to everyone! I bought the kits that had everything in it and even though the gingerbread tastes like cardboard it was a great deal for the money. It was fun to see how different all the kids were with their creations, and they were so proud too!
um we won't be eating anything off of his house.

Hunter and his cousin, Brady, were so serious about the whole thing. You'd think they would start to rebel this sort of activity... but actually isn't building houses manly anyways? They loved it!
Well thanks everyone for coming over and trashing my house :) Next year I'm getting my vote in early for someone else to host this party!

And it was not easy..... I'm talking about Clint and my indoor soccer team--we had our first and only win on Saturday night! There were a lot of injuries, mainly to the other team (thanks to Jeremy 'the tank') but we did have one of our girls do a nose dive into the wall! I thought for sure she knocked herself out cold... we talked on Sunday and she said her face is fine, it's her wrist that she thinks is broken! Poor girl, and all she had running through her mind was "don't cry!" Let me tell you, she is one tough old broad! (Happy Birthday Jamie! sorry about the 'old')
Anyways, at the end of that game I said to the ref, "If this is what it takes to win a game, then I'm fine always losing!" Seriously.

Tuesday-- Went to Clint's grandparents to visit with his Aunt who was in town from Arizona for only a couple of days.... Love them and wish they were here for longer!
Wednesday-- stayed home, made dinner, played board games (Clint is teaching Colby chess, and had to show Hunter who the master at chess really is...) and bathed kids.....it's been a while.
Thursday--rushed over to the grandparents again for dinner and visiting before having to rush into town for Hunter's school choir that was singing at Christmas village.

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving this year! Spent at our house, with two of Clint's sisters, his dad and niece and nephew we had a blast. Here's a shot of some of our spread....mmmmm!
We then rolled into the living room to watch a movie, no one could move from all of the food we ate. Somehow this turned into a big feet tickling circle, which some of our other family members who were m.i.a this year would have loved! (you know who you are!)
We wrapped up the day with our now traditional game playing. Pictionary is a favorite of my kids, we like to make our own words for teams to draw.... Even A.J played this year, kind of :) He got up to draw what his aunt Kari told him (ice cream) and proceeded to draw his own thing (grass)! It was hysterical. What was even more funny was when we started playing 'Bullshit' and A.J started saying it over and over and over! I haven't heard that word come out of his mouth today so I'm hoping he's forgotten.... The big winner for 'Bullshit' was none other than my son, Hunter! We could never catch him lying. Such a sweet little innocent he is. On the other hand, Colby has a knack for catching the 'Bullshitters'! Mostly me.... he would call 'bullshit' on me every time I was lying, the little eagle eye!

OK, now that Thanksgiving is done with---I've got to start losing some weight! This is pathetic, my baby is 3 years old- going on 4 pretty darn quick! So I can't use pregnancy as an excuse any longer! Or can I? :) Usually since I started having kids I would have been pregnant again by now and wouldn't have to worry about it. Since we are done having children I really need to start losing some weight now! So really, it's crunch time for me. No more soda, cut back on sweets (that's my biggest no no), more exercise!!! It's time people, I'll keep you updated. Without actual numbers of course, that's just embarrassing and wrong in so many ways!

Colby is thankful for......

He brought this home from school today, along with about 30 other things he's thankful for. I chose the highlights! Sorry about the blur, they didn't scan very well but I had to show off the actual writing because I'm so very thankful I have such a wonderful son! I think I'm going to have to frame these up somehow....

Hunter is 11 today! My baby is growing up fast! I told him last year, no more parties....we can't afford it and he has too many friends (that's a good thing though, right?) So tonight we are having brownies and ice cream, and my angel boy is happy with that. He is always aiming to please, but last night Colby was doing all he could to make Hunter happy. It was the cutest thing ever, I think Colby is buttering him up so he can play with any gifts? I can't imagine life without my boys, was there ever a time? I was reminiscing with Clint last night, saying I remember looking in at the crib and thinking "After today, there will be a baby in there!" To which he replied, "I remember thinking, how did I let Kim talk me into this?"
MEN! He laughed and said that now he is glad I did talk him into it. I wonder, would the world continue if it were up to men only? Probably not.....
Ok, before I start crying I'm going to stop my stroll down memory lane! And I have to report that sadly my laptop has been infected by some pesky virus so I'm down on my ancient home computer.... I don't have the patience to wait for pictures to download on this beast so I'll post some birthday pics later!
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and eats till they burst! Have a good week.

Me, on the other hand, I think I could've used a drink! :) (kidding, maybe just a mild sedative)

I've been feeling a little sad thinking about Hunter turning 11 in a couple of weeks and getting so old, then last night I turned and saw him with his jaw dropped and mickey mouse ears on and realized he's still my baby!

I just love my boys, and I hate how fast they're growing up! We had a great time, I loved having all my family there too! Seems like yesterday when I was doing this kind of stuff with my nieces and nephew, now they're all grown up getting married and going off to college.... how quickly time flies!

I just had to share really quick with you all, I figured you probably would get a chuckle out of this like I did! Colby did his homework last night, and it's so amazing that he never needs help... he'll just sit down and do it with no questions and then be on his merry way! So this morning after the kids went to school I started reading through his packet to make sure he did it all and just started laughing so hard! He gets a spelling list every week and has to write it in a sentence, so here's a couple of sentences that just tickled my funny bone... remember, he's in 2nd grade.
1.MIND - Mind your own bissnus boys and girls.
2.TRY- Try the meat.
3.LIE - I will never ever lie! (this made me laugh for obvious reasons)
4.KIND - I like the cheesy kind of chips.
The kid never ceases to amaze me! I love him like crazy, makes me wonder what comes out of his mouth at school.... I'm sure I'm better off not knowing!

Indoor soccer is still going on, and I'm still alive! We had a game this last weekend with a good sized crowd there cheering us on. Sadly the other team wasn't aware of this and I'm pretty sure they were mocking us out on the field.... I was told (by my husband) that we are in the 'lower' league, with other teams that are down around our level of playing. Well..... I'm finding this very hard to believe week after week, game after game--there are no other teams out there down at OUR skill level. Something wrong with the system? I'm not sure. We're thinking we need to have some shirts made, that might boost up our playing level? I'll keep you all posted! I do have to report that I was sooooooo close to making a goal! Twice! So who knows, maybe this next game (at 11:00 p.m) will be the one!? Of course no one wants to come that late to cheer, so naturally that will be our shining moment.....

Here's a quick up-date on our Halloween day.... The kids were out of school and Clint was off work so it made for a really long, scary day for mom! My costume ended up being a mom with p.m.s who wanted nothing to do with anyone! Original?? I thought so.... Colby couldn't make up his mind on his costume (surprised?) so he put on all the things that he liked best. I guess he was a skeleton/grim reaper/with a pirate sword hand? Whatever, this was a base for my costume to really grab onto. A.J had a blue power ranger costume that was Colby's long ago, but got this red power ranger costume this week as a hand-me down from his cousin and liked it better! Except that there was no mask or gloves, so he followed Colby's lead and added onto his costume too... Clint went deer hunting with his nephew, J.B, and his dad. Yes, he's still deer hunting. He has an archery tag, so it just seems to go on and on and on...... He did get a shot, but missed. Oh well, I guess he'll just keep going till it happens. He ended up getting home late so his costume was a deer hunter!

Here's me, my mom and two sisters.Yikes, I'm looking scary in this one. Thanks Michelle for being a great sister! I know I can call you first to find out what's ailing my kids, so I don't have to call the doctor if it's not needed. When mom started working evenings and I was left home alone you had great recipes for me to copy and would talk me through doing laundry (since I really had no clue as to what I was doing). You've always been there as my 'mom' figure and I really look up to you as a great mom! Happy Birthday sis! I love you!

Last night the boys and I met up with all of my side of the family down in Salt Lake to watch Disney on Ice celebrate 100 years of Disney. And I do mean ALL of my family.... all my nieces and nephews except Cameron who is at Snow College, but I'm sure he would have been there too!
