Hope For Skylar

Some friends of ours started a website for their little girl who is very sick.
She has been through so much in her tiny little life and she and her family need so much help. You can see her story on her blog Baby Skylar. If you can help I know it would be much appreciated.

more junk

I learned how to make nursing covers a while back and have been making them A LOT.  I just love how they've turned out.  Especially this one on the right that I made for my super awesome and pregnant friend, Jeannette.

Finally made some pillow covers for my fugly couch pillows.  Man they look so much better.

Maddison turned 3

I can't believe my sweet Maddi turned 3 years old already!!!  She is so wonderful.  The three best things about Maddi are:
3. She is so easy and laid back, always has been! I can go on an hour long car drive with just her and not hear a peep out of her.  I can sit her in front of a movie and she sits still and watches the whole thing.
2. Maddi is very kind to her brother and sister.  She doesn't flip out like every other kid when she doesn't get what she wants.  She'll give you anything you want if you just say pWease.
1. She has the most and best personality of any kid I know.  She says the funniest things at all the most unexpected times.  She can make you forget about your crappy day by surprising you with a "secret" i love you.  She dances the robot and sings beautifully.  I just love this girl!

We started off her day at the party store getting balloons and treats for her friends and cousins.

Then we hit good ol Krispy Kreme for a free dozen!

We went to Subway for lunch, per Maddison's request.  And by then we were all ready for a nap, hence the non smiling picture.

Later that night we went to Peter Piper Pizza for dinner and a party with family and friends.  We were so glad that everyone could come and help us celebrate!!

We couldn't be more grateful that Maddison Jeannette is a part of our family.  She brings us so much happiness and I couldn't imagine a day without her.  We love you Maddi and happy birthday!!

Christmas Catch Up

Here's some of the stuff I made over the holidays.

These shirts and bows for the girls on Christmas turned out so cute I think!!

I gave TONS and TONS of chocolate covered pretzel rods and twizzlers to friends. (this is only about 1/3 of what I made)

How cute did my kids look in their Christmas Sunday clothes?!

And I had to throw this pic in there cause it's probably the cutest one I've ever seen of B and E.

For some reason I can't find my pictures from Christmas morning except this one.  Maddi got this uber cute Dumbo from her Cousin Jarrod.

My mom and I took the kids up to Mesa to see the temple lights!

Maddi was the only one brave enough to sit on Santa's lap at the ward Christmas party.

Haircut

It got late the other night when Stephen and I were playing games with some friends so we put the girls to bed.  They wouldn't go to sleep and just kept playing so we put Bailey to sleep in our bed and left Maddi in her room.  Well I had been sewing that day and some of my stuff was still out in sight in my room...I blame myself.  Stephen went to check on Bailey and found her hiding in my closet with scissors.  He didn't see anything damaged so he put her back in bed.  Later when everyone left I found a small clump of hair on the floor.  Bailey then got up to go pee and wanted help so I went to help her and noticed tons of hair all over the back of her shirt.  Then I raced to the closet and found more and more and MORE hair.  Bailey realized what I was finally realizing and hid under the covers.  I calmly told her I knew what she had done and we'd talk about it the next day.  Luckily she didn't cut too much.  She gave herself some long-ish bangs and cut some pretty short layers in the back of her hair.  It's not bad enough where she needs a whole new haircut and it blends pretty well.  The bangs actually look kinda good!  I am soooooo glad it wasn't worse.  I guess it's my fault for never getting her scissors of her own and showing her how to use them properly.

You can't see anything really from this picture but here's just some of the hair I collected.

Baby Nikolas is here!!

This past week was a bit CRAZY. On Thanksgiving night my brother's girlfriend went into labor!! She wasn't due til just before Christmas but Nikolas had other plans. So while I was trying to get some rest before my Black Friday shopping we got the call and decided there would be no sleeping that night. My mom had to be at the hospital so my sister and I decided to just start our shopping at midnight and check in at the hospital after each store. It was great! Nikolas was finally born at 10:03 am on black friday. He was a healthy 7 lbs 5 oz at 3 1/2 weeks early! He is so stinkin cute and I am so excited to have a baby in the family again!!

Happy Birthday Mom

My mom turned 60 last week!!!  If you know my mom you know she doesn't want a big deal made of her.  This is just impossible when you turn 60!  A while back when my sibs and I suggested having a birthday party she quickly shut our idea down and absolutely DID NOT want us doing anything for her.  We even were told not to buy her gifts.  Well that is just unacceptable.  So we got planning a surprise party for her...

El Corral Steakhouse is a special place for my family so I decided to make reservations there. We got a room all to ourselves since we had 30 people there. We had to change our plans on who was delivering the birthday girl at the last minute. It was so great though, she had NO IDEA! At least she had no idea until she got there and like a a little snoop she peeked in the window where we were and saw my nephew and then all the rest of us! It was still great and we all had a wonderful time celebrating my wonderful mom. Happy Birthday Mom, you're the best!!
