Global Big Day 2017 – Every Bird Counts.

It’s that time of year again! Four weeks from today is Global Big Day. Labuan Avian Group for the 2nd year contribute to the global event result to ebird via Borneo Bird Club. Asian Waterbird Census 2016 –

LABUAN WETLAND,SHOAL AND SHOREEvery January, thousands of volunteers across Asia and Australasia visit wetlands in their country and count waterbirds. This event is called the Asian Waterbird Census (AWC), which is part of a global waterbird monitoring programme, the International Waterbird Census. Labuan Avian Group join the Global event under Malaysian Nature Society (Sabah) branch with supervision by  EAST ASIAN-AUSTRALASIAN FLYWAY PARTNERSHIP.

Wader Conservation World Watch is all about participating and standing up to say

“We Care!”. Labuan Avian Group took the challange and participate the world wide event by doing the waders census and record during their migration season. Thanks to Mr. Mohd Aswad Mohd Sa’dan and Mr. Zamri Zawawi for the commitments.2016 results. Together have seen 125 species. There have been 245 observers. In 38 countries. On 6 continents in all 9 flyways. Weldone.
