Months 9 and 10

Oops...I've been a little busy lately and completely forgot about blogging. I love to have everything on here so I'll be able to look back and remember how she was at that age, so I'll do a quick recap.

Hannah has learned so many new things these past 2 months. She just does stuff out of nowhere that completely amazes me. I handed her a hair brush the other day to occupy her while I was changing her diaper, and she started brushing her hair! She's started following a ton of verbal commands; and will demonstrate when I ask her to point, wave, clap, dance, pat, come here, and so many others. She babbles non stop all day and has picked up a few more words: yeah, yuck, Mac (Lane's dad's name and her favorite word to say,) ball, and dog.  She crawls at lighting speed now and can disappear in an instant.  She pulls up on everything in sight and cruises all around the room on the furniture. I think she'll be walking soon.  She usually gets up once a night, though occasionally we'll have a night where she's up every couple of hours. She usually takes 2 naps a day. She is still in 12 month clothes (a few 18 month) and size 4 diapers. I finally started putting her in shoes, and she wears a 3.5 wide.  She eats mostly table food now, and will eat pretty much anything that we eat, just cut into tiny pieces. She still only has 2 teeth.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from these past 2 months.

One of her favorite things to do is to swing, and we do it almost every day.

Sweet girl on July 4th.

I have way too much fun dressing her up.

She loves wearing shoes.

First trip to Sanibel. Her favorite thing to so was trying to eat all the sea shells. Yuck.
Image

And she's officially started throwing temper tantrums.

First spaghetti night was a success. This girl can eat more than a grown man.
Image

First day of school! She's going to a Mother's Day out program while I teach 2 days a week. She's doing great!
Image

Loves to dance! She sticks one leg out and swivels her hips like Elvis and it's hilarious.
Image

Always so happy!

I'm already planing her first birthday party. I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by. Her personality is really showing through now, and she is such a sweetheart.

8 months

This is going to be a short recap. We are moving to Arkansas tomorrow and things are crazy! I'm procrastinating by writing this blog post.

This has been another month of new discoveries every day and big changes.

Image

Image

She definitely loves posing for the camera! Whenever she sees me hold up my phone she automatically smiles.  She LOVES to clap and will do it on command. It's the cutest thing ever. She also has been saying "mama" all the time. I'm still not sure she knows what it means, but it melts my heart to hear her say it!

Hannah has two teeth now! She's had a rough time with teething. There's several more about to come through, and I know they're bothering her.

Image

Her little personality is starting to show more and more. She's a little comedian; always laughing and acting silly. She's generally happy all the time...except for when she doesn't get her way. She will pitch a royal fit if I try to help her do something or if I won't let her hold something when she's shopping with me. She is also very determined. When she makes up her mind that she wants something, she WILL get it. I have a feeling toddlerhood will be tough!

Image
I was trying to hold it for her so she wouldn't throw it on the ground. Obviously I'm the meanest mommy ever.

Hannah's new favorite things are climbing and standing. She spends most of her day doing this now, and has figured out how to stand up in her crib. People keep saying it won't be long til she walks...eek!!

Image

She loves feeding herself and I think we'll be done with purées soon. She eats just about everything we eat now; I just tear it into little pieces for her. She wolfs it down super fast!

Image

I love this age so much. I know I say that about every age. We are having so much fun playing and I love watching her explore everything around her.

7 months

This has been a big month for Hannah. She has learned so many new things that it's hard to keep track.
Image
She weighs around 19 pounds and is 27 and a half inches long. She is in 9/12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

The biggest thing that's happened this month is that Hannah officially became a crawler. She's still not exactly coordinated, but she gets around pretty quickly and I can't take my eye off her for a second. Somehow she already knows exactly what she's not supposed to get into, so of course that's what she makes a beeline for.

Image

Hannah's favorite thing to do is feed herself finger foods. There are some days where the only time she's happy is when she's in her high chair eating! She's gotten pretty good at it and probably gets 90% of the food in her mouth. I've had to figure out more things to feed her since she isn't crazy about purées anymore. Her favorite things to feed herself are peas, watermelon, spiral pasta, small pieces of turkey, yogurt melts, and steamed carrots. She also got her first tooth this week.

Image

Her favorite toy is still the jumperoo. She'll jump for 30 minutes straight and them cry when I take her out. I'm actually making her take a break from it for awhile because she jumped so much she got a big blister on one toe, and wore off the skin on another toe and made it bleed. She's hardcore!

Image

We've always called Hannah our little Houdini baby because she could break out of the tightest swaddles when she was a tiny baby. She's living up to her nick name-- last night I heard her laughing on the monitor. I went in there and picked her up, and she was naked! She somehow managed to take her pajamas off without unbuttoning them. A couple of weeks ago she pulled off the crib toy that was securely strapped to the slats. I have no idea how she can do these things.

Image

She really is developing a sense of humor and loves to make mommy and daddy laugh. A couple of weeks ago I was sitting with my feet propped up while she was playing on the floor. I was reading a magazine and wasn't keeping a super close eye on her...all of the sudden I felt something tickling my feet! I looked down and she was underneath my chair, tickling my feet! She thought it was hilarious and laughed so hard.
Image

She's starting to go through some separation anxiety. She doesn't mind when I leave her with someone else, but if I'm in the house and I'm not right there with her, she screams bloody murder. Other than that, she really is such a happy, easy going baby. Her sleep schedule is getting a tad better; she'll usually take 2-3 decent naps and gets up once or twice at night. She still has nights where she'll get up 5+ times, but those nights are happening less often.

Here are some favorite pics from this month.

Six months

I wish I could freeze time with Hannah at this age. She is such a happy, fun baby and already has a sense of humor. I am loving every moment with this precious girl.
Image
We went to the doctor this month and Hannah is perfectly healthy. I can't believe she hasn't even had a cold yet! She is in the 75th percentile for weight, and the 90th for height. Big baby! She is in mostly 9 month clothes, with some 6 and 12 depending on the brand. She is in size 3 diapers, but we're going to switch to 4's soon since they're getting tight around those chunky thighs. Size 1 shoes are still too big for her...go figure! I have all these cute shoes that she can't wear because they are huge on her. Hoping her feet catch up with the rest of her soon.

Hannah is doing really well with eating solids. She eats dinner with us every day and will usually eat 3-4 cubes of puréed fruits and veggies. Some days she eats breakfast too. She has had oatmeal, strawberry yogurt, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, peas, carrots, green beans, apples, pears, peaches, and mangoes. She has also snacked on cereal puffs and yogurt melts.

About the only thing she refuses to eat are the green beans.

Image

We are enjoying the nice weather here lately. We took Hannah for her first trip to the park. She loved swinging and watching all the other kids play.

Image

She is doing a really good job sitting up now, and spends most of her time sitting up to play. I still have to stay close by because she still falls over every now and then.

Image

Hannah is definitely a talker. These days there's hardly a moment of silence in our house, and I love it. She goes through phases where she gets stuck on sounds. For awhile she was giving Mariah Carey a run for her money and making all these crazy high pitched sounds. Lately she's been practicing her chewbacca impression with lots of gurgling noises.

Image

Unfortunately we're still having major sleep problems. I thought there was light at the end of the tunnel when for several nights in a row, she only woke up once. But lately she just rolls around in her crib so much and gets stuck in the weirdest positions and it wakes her up. I've been so paranoid because she has decided she likes to sleep on her tummy with her face straight down into the mattress.

Image

Every single day she is growing and changing so much. I wish so badly there were a pause button!
