Teeth are Breaking Through

Natalie has been chewing on everything she can pull up to her mouth lately. I noticed last night, I can see two bottom teeth breaking through the gums! I have not been able to look at the top gums, yet.

Natalie is doing great overall! She has slept through the last two nights mostly. I have to get up only once to put her pacifier back in, but that is not a big deal. She is also eating better. She loves carrots and sweet potatoes. I tried bananas the other day and she was not too found of them yet, but we will try again.

Carter has been battling a sinus infection for a week now. Poor little guy, one minute he is so happy and the next he is running a slight fever. He has been on medication for about six days, but from what I hear most kids are having to go through two rounds of medication before it will clear up...yuck.

We have finally gotten settled and I feel like my feet are underneath me now instead of running behind me to catch up. I just wish I could get my family well.

Natalie has a weight check this week, so I will keep everyone posted. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Meeting Nanny and Grandad

We have had a great first week in Amarillo! We have been getting adjusted and settled. I am feeling much better, however Natalie is a little snotty now.

Carter had a great week of school and seems to be back in the swing of things.

We took Natalie to meet her Nanny and Grandad this week. They were so excited to see her in person finally.

I had mentioned a while back about a sweet little infant girl, Emery Williams, who has neuroblastoma. She just finished herr second round of chemo and the tumors shrunk by 80%...what a miracle! Surgery is still not an option, so she will have another round of chemo. Please continue to pray for her and her family.

We are Home

After a weekend of packing in Dallas, we made our voyage on Sunday. Larry was in front of me with a trailer and I was driving my car with both kids...what an adventure. It took us about a little over 7 hours. We made two major stops for feeding and a few little stops here and there to put the pacifier back in her mouth.

Both kids overall did amazing! Carter had one meltdown about an hour outside of Amarillo. Thank goodness for my ipod, which I had saved just in case. He put those head phones and was fine the rest of the way. Natalie sleep a good portion of the trip, but about 20 minutes outside of Amarillo, she was done with the car seat. Needless to say, we got home a little quicker.

The kids are adjusting to the rooms and sleeping in their beds. I am hoping that after a week, Carter will be sleeping through the night again and not wake up. Natalie still wakes up once a night, but we are working on that. I can't complain, because we were waking her up to feed her so she is just use to it I guess. My theory is, it was one more feeding I could give her to add the pounds on.

Carter had his first day of school today here in Amarillo. He had a great time, but is really tired now. I am making him lay in my bed and watch Cars, so at least he is resting.

I took Natalie to Dr. Scott today, so she could meet her. Dr. Scott is our pediatrician here in Amarillo. They weight her and she was 13lbs 1 oz! Dr. Scott also took her oxygen stat, to have a base line here in Amarillo; good news, they were still the same as in Dallas...mid 80s.

Natalie rolled over this past Saturday! She rolled from her back to her stomach and back again. This is huge for her. She is a little delayed in some of her development. We still can't officially do tummy time for another two weeks, but if she rolls to her stomach and is not screaming in pain, that is okay.

Overall things are going wonderful for us! Amarillo has gotten the best of me right now. The dry weather has killed my eyes and I have developed a cold. I am feeling better today, so maybe I am adjusting back to panhandle weather.

I will continue to update the blog, but probably once or twice a week for now on. And I promise more pictures soon.

Thank you all for your support, God is so good! We are truly blessed by everyone.

Amarillo...Here we come!!

Image
That is right, we got the okay to go home! I can't believe it! It has been 8 months since I have been down here and 7 months since Natalie has been born, what an adventure we are on.

Natalie had her sedated echo today. She did great! Everything looks wonderful. Natalie has been pretty sleepy today and a little grumpy at times from the sedation, but that should wear off tonight.

She is now 12lbs 14oz! She is huge in my eyes, but she is still just barely on the growth chart.

We are so excited about finally coming home! I am a little nervous not being in Dallas so close to Children's, but I am ready to be in the same house with my husband all the time.

Carter is so excited to go to Amarillo and see all of his friends. He has been a little helper with packing. He is so afraid we are going to leave his cars, that he has lined them up by the stairs.

Thank you all for the support for the past several months. We truly could have not made it through all of this without your love and support...thank you

Snow Day

Image

Who would have thought Dallas would have two inches of snow on the ground and it still be falling? We took Carter to school this morning for his "P" day, pajamas, party and pizza. Needless to say, we got a call after an hour to come and pick him up; the church lost electricity and it was starting to get cold inside.

I am pretty sure Carter did not care. He got his cookie and daddy picked him up, he was in heaven. We brought him and let him play in the snow. Yes, his outfit is bad, but we really do not have snow clothes in Dallas. Natalie is doing great! She has an appointment tomorrow with Dr. Zellers. She will be having a sedated echo as well.

She has started taking baby food a lot better. I think she is finally figuring out how to swallow. She loves watching Carter, but who doesn't, he makes a lot of nose all the time.

We are hoping if all goes well tomorrow, we will get the okay to head home! I will keep everyone posted. Thanks again for all the support

Sixth Month Well Check

Image
Image
Natalie had her sixth month well check today with Dr. Jim. She is 12lbs 7 oz, which is only the 3rd percentile, but is huge for her! She is really doing awesome since surgery.

We have started rice cereal this week. She is not really sure about it. I think she thinks it is medicine we are trying to shove down her, so it is going to take some time.

Natalie is also teething. She will suck on anything she can pull up to her mouth, including her clothes. She is finally getting her personality back and has started babbling and laughing again.
