Almost there................8 weeks to go

Image
Here are some pictures from week 32, taken by yours truly. I am totally not ready to have this baby, but I have a feeling the baby won't care if I am ready or not. I still need to get some a couple things, like a car seat and crib and stroller. I hear they make you have a car seat to take your baby home in these days. I guess I need to get moving, but I am having a hard time making decisions on what get. Also, I need to work on finding a name. Oh the dreaded name. I hate picking names.

Ocean Shores, WA

A couple of weeks ago we headed down to Ocean Shores to visit Dave's little sister Melia and her family who were vacationing there. The drive wasn't bad only about 2 hours to the coast. I was surprised at how different it was here compared to all of the rest of the Washington coast. I guess most of the beaches in Washington we have been to were in the Olympic Rain forest. I guess that about says it all. It wasn't green or lush and  had very few trees, and no sea stacks. Don't get me wrong it was beautiful in its own way but just not what I was expecting.

The trip was cold and windy but we enjoyed being with family and Ryan's good cooking. It was also nice to meet baby Katherine that we hadn't met before. Thanks for having us!

Good Easter

Image
We had a great Easter this year.  We got to talk to Dave in the morning (always a good start to our day) on our way to church. After church we stopped at our favorite spot by the Sound and let the kids run for a bit before heading home.

My Grandma and Uncle stopped by for a couple hours on their way home from a long road trip. We had a picnic at the lake and played at the park. We enjoyed catching up and soaking up the sun together. All and all a pretty good day.

Birthdays

Jaxon and I celebrated our birthday days last month. Jaxon, turning the ripe old age of 9 and me turning 31. Ya, I know we are both getting old.

Image
My friend made me this beautiful cake pop and Jelly Belly bouquet for my birthday. It made my day. The kids and I celebrated by going to the movies, then out to dinner and hit Krispy Creme for some delicious donuts for dessert on our way home. It was a good day.

Jaxon's birthday started out with breakfast in bed, a birthday tradition.

It has now been a month since Dave has been gone. For the most part we are doing really well. Things are always bound to fall apart to an extent when Dave goes. I found out last week that I have gestational diabetes which has been an unexpected challenge that I have had to deal with. My doctors were already concerned with this baby because both of my girls were quite big and had shoulder dystocia (shoulder getting caught while I was delivering). Lets just say I am being kept on a very short leash, which equals lots of doctor, nurse, and nutritionist visits. I just got my blood glucose meter today and testing myself isn't as bad as I had anticipated. However following a strict diet is time consuming and not much fun. On the bright side I only have 10 weeks left so I am hoping time flies by.

Dave is doing really well in Afghanistan. He is staying super busy and doesn't have much time to spare. We usually get to talk to him a couple times a week and we try to keep the letters going his way so he feels less lonely.

I guess that is about it for now. We celebrated Easter and Jaxon and my birthdays this last month. I will try to get on posting pictures of those soon.

March 2012

This has been one of the highest and lowest months of my life, what a roller coaster!! Warning -Try not to drowned in all of my posts. Considering we took over 1000 pictures in the month of March I think I did a pretty good job condensing them into only 8 posts or so. I hope you all enjoy!

Saying goodbye.. the dreaded D day

The dreaded day has finally come and gone ); It is going to be hard but we are going to be strong and do our best. I am sure that this will be the most challenging adventure I have ever had in my life but hopefully I will become a stronger person and our family will grow even closer together. Image

Family Vacation - Florida

The first day we arrived in Florida we drove to Cocoa Beach and found us a beautiful hotel right on the beach. Of course Dave couldn't pass up a room with an Ocean view so that is what we had. I think we were all a bit blinded by the sun the first couple days but boy was it beautiful. The next morning we got up early to watch the sun rise on the balcony, what a site. The agenda for the day was to spend the day at the beach and check out the local hot spots. This was probably my favorite day that we had in Florida, just relaxing on the beach.Image

Image The best 9 dollars spent on this vacation was this body board. The kids played on it all day.

The next day we headed back to Orlando to start our way through the theme parks.
