Amelia

I am:

A bibliophile with an M.A. and half a PhD in English literature.

A professional in the academic publishing industry.

A cheese lover.

A daughter, sister, and auntie who loves her family.

A Mormon who believes some things, questions other things, and outright dismisses still other things about Mormon teachings.

A liberal, feminist intellectual (which may explain some of the tension with that Mormon thing).

A backpacker, a reader, a swing dancer, a traveler, a museum-goer, a thinker, a conversationalist.

I appropriate as my own Walt Whitman’s statement:  “Do I contradict myself?  Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.”

Amy Parkin (aka Amelia) lives in the intermountain west where she sells college textbooks, writes about Mormon women’s issues from a feminist perspective at the Exponent Blog, reads as many books as she can, and travels whenever possible (often on business, but always for pleasure).  She can be reached at ameliaparkinATgmailDOTcom
