We decided to get some free frozen yogurt since it was national frozen yogurt day but we didn't realize the line would last almost two hours! The kids were very patient and we waited so long that Daddy was able to come join us at the very end.
It was worth the wait!! They told us we could fill up as much yogurt and toppings as we could fit in our cups. We decided to keep it reasonable even though there were some people walking out with 2 foot tall yogurt towers.
Carter and Beckett decided to play one of their crazy games and Beckett got launched into the corner of the coffee table and his head split open. Luckily we were able to just run him over to brother Vaughan's house and he put in a couple staples and that was it. They were home in 5 minutes. No long and painful ER visit! We are big fans of having laid back DR friends.
Dallas loves to play in Nana and Papa's bathroom while I sit at the vanity and do my makeup. One of his favorite games to play is to get out all of Nana's velcro rollers and fill them with q-tips. The things that entertain one year olds!
Grandma Allred bought tickets to the princess ballet for a combined birthday present for Rylynn and me. We went with Sarah and Alethia and had so much fun! They had a tent set up outside the theater where they had all kinds of treats and face painting. Then we went in and got to watch the BYU ballet dancers perform numbers from fairy tale ballets like sleeping beauty and cinderella. Then at the end, they invited all the girls to come up on stage and dance with the ballerinas. It was such a fun night!
Beckett got to celebrate his half birthday at preschool and was very excited for me to bring in blue cupcakes for all his school friends.
They sang to him and he got to wear his birthday crown all day long at school. It was a happy day!
For Rylynn's 9th birthday we had a family party and we all went to Fiesta Fun to play games and have fun!
The kids won a bunch of tickets and had a lot of fun in the soft foam are too. That was Dallas' favorite part and every time we would go back the game are, he would escape back there. Either that, or he would climb up the skeeball game and chuck the balls in the cups.
Here they are with their loot! At the end of the night some teenagers came up to the kids and gave them all their tickets so they could buy more prizes. They were thrilled! I'm always amazed that my kids cash in tickets for candy but it just goes to show how much value they place on candy.
After Rylynn's birthday dinner which as always, included mashed potatoes, we had her chocolate bunny cake! She is obsessed with bunnies right now and asked for a pet bunny for three months leading up to her birthday.
Beckett was nice enough to lend Sissy his birthday crown.
So we struck a deal with her. We would pay for the cage, food, and supplies for her present and she had to use her birthday money to buy the bunny. At first she really wanted a baby bunny but we searched all over and couldn't find one so finally she found one that she loved. She named her princess. She decided that she was the bunny for her because when she went to the animal store, she bent down into the bunny cage and her bunny hopped right up to her and started sniffing her fingers. The other bunnies just stayed where they were so she took it as a sign and the rest is history.
The brothers were very excited to welcome princess into the family too! We had to have a few lessons on how to hold her but they got the hang of it pretty quickly. She is so soft and sweet.
We keep her in the garage for now since it's still a little bit cold in the morning and night but she will go outside when it gets warmer.
We took Rylynn to dinner during her birthday week at the Black Bear Diner. She loved getting the birthday ice cream and getting sung to by the waiters. Daddy really enjoyed his hamburger which was the size of his head!
Dallas mostly just ate the whipped butter out of the cup instead of putting it on his pancakes.
It's beautiful spring weather so naturally I had to take these cuties to play at the park!
Beckett insisted that we have a make believe baseball game on the baseball field. This cute boy and his active imagination keep me constantly entertained.
I love when these brothers play well together. Beckett really likes playing the big brother role but Dallas doesn't always love it. Sometimes when Beckett just lets him play they get along swimmingly. Those are good days!
Soooo, Annie came over with two baby bunnies a week after Rylynn got princess and Rylynn and the boys decided they needed to go buy a friend for Princess. The Vaughans said they were only ten dollars at Cal Ranch so I took the kids over to take a look. Of course they fell in love instantly and had to buy one.
It turns out they were fifteen bucks but the kids could not have been happier with our purchase!
Princess and snowball became fast friends and they were so cute when they would snuggle together in their cage.
So it turned out that the batch of bunnies that snowball was from had some kind of disease and Annie's two bunnies died within two days of buying them. Jenna called me and warned me and I checked on Snowball but she seemed fine. However, the next morning when I went out to check on her she was dead. The kids were so sad!!! We buried her in the backyard by the play house and had a little funeral for her. Our other friends, the Drapers also bought four bunnies from that same litter and all theirs died within a few days too. It was a very sad week for bunnies in our neighborhood. Luckily Princess didn't seem to catch it and she is doing great. Rylynn thinks she really misses her friend though and wants to buy another one but I think we are going to hold off on new pets for a few weeks!
Warm weather also means more trips to the carousel and the water park downtown!
Saint George is a really fun little town for kids. I'm thankful we have gotten to live here while the kids have been young.
Dallas is obsessed with his "Be Be" and blankey right now! He can't sleep without either of them and then he just carries them all around the house while he's awake. Every once in awhile he will just give his baby's head a kiss. Never just one though. He always says, "one more" and gives him another kiss for good measure.
I love seeing his little sweet personality shine through more and more each day.
I got spoiled and Garrett brought me home these beautiful spring flowers after work! They have been so pretty on the counter. I love fresh flowers so much!
Dallas has decided that it's time for some spring cleaning and has taken to vacuuming the kitchen any chance he can get.
This boy! He is such a crack up! He asked me to take a picture of him with his hat like this. We are enjoying the spring and remembering why people endure the horrid summers here.
