Korver Jay Moffett

I find it hard to believe that my little boy is 1. It seems like not that long ago I was laying in a hospital bed exhausted after 20 hrs of labor and a c-section holding my brand new baby boy. I was scared out of my mind!! A gorgeous little angel was looking up at me putting all his trust in me and here I was having no clue what to do. But here we are a year later :) Korver has taught me so much about myself and about life. Here's a list of things he's taught me/ things that make Korver well, Korver :)

-Baby Korver LOVES to dance!
-His hugs are magical
-He reminded me of the magic a balloon holds for a child
-He loves mickey mouse
-He needs to be the center of attention AT ALL TIMES!
-He loves food
-He loves animals
-He loves his binky
-He is so crazy!!
-He loves to climb on everything
-He's a very curious little guy
-He loves to wear hats and sunglasses
-He especially likes it when you tell him how good he looks in hats and sunglasses :)
-He's very attached to mommy
-He loves to give kisses
-He loves to take everything out of my wallet and hand me things one by one
-He is such a silly little boy
-and last but not least he is the sweetest most adorable baby boy!!

I tell Korver all the time that he is the child I prayed for all my life. Having a career and traveling the world never seemed to compare to my calling to be a mom. I have loved every second of being Korver's mommy!

Life changes faster than you know!

ahhh so many things have happened since I last blogged. I knew I wasn't going to be good but I didn't know I was going to be this terrible at it haha So for the most part I'm a pretty private person so I kinda have a hard time posting everything that happens to my family and I as soon as it happens I like to do what I call "savor the moment" and just keep news to myself for a while. I hope that makes sense! I'm just trying to explain why i'm not the greatest blogger and never will be lol So some of the things that have happened are:

-Derek got a new job
-I got a new job
-We had Korver's first birthday party
-I turned 21
-Our house was "remodeled"
-We got a new car
(not in order!)

ummm i know more things have happened but those are just the ones I think of right now. So Derek now does hard rock drilling...not in utah! It's so hard to have him gone for so long (28 days) but after that he gets to be home for 2 weeks without having to work so it's really awesome to have him be home and be able to just relax and go on mini trips as a family! Derek being gone and the house being remodeled actually go hand in hand. I have to have something to keep me busy while derek's away so I focus on the house. We got our basement put back together by my wonderful daddy the first time he left, then retiled our kitchen floor the second time (again by my wonderful daddy), and this third time well, this time it's me who's getting remodeled! Don't get me wrong I don't think I'm fat, I actually have really good self esteem, but I really wanted to push myself to lose the last few pounds from the baby (since the baby is almost one! haha) and I did :) I lost 10 pounds but since it's working so well why not run with it right? So we'll see what happens I have 2 weeks left!
So I got a new job! I work 2 days a week babysitting a little girl Korver's age when Derek's away and I don't work when Derek is home. It's a perfect job! Korver loves playing with Emma and it makes me so happy he gets to socialize with someone his age especially since he's an only child and well let's just say he's VERY spoiled! haha I'll take the blame for that one!
So I also turned 21!!! Finally!!! It seemed like I was 20 forever!! Derek and I took a one night trip to wendover to celebrate and it wasn't as awesome as we thought it would be but we spent it together and that made it worth it. That was the first time I've ever left Korver for more than a few hours and I was a nervous wreck! Of course I left him with my mom who loves him more than anything and I knew he was in great hands but still you worry :) As stated before, he's very spoiled so he has weird things he does that i guess only a mother can do? haha well he didn't even cry the whole time he was there, and he ate all his food (that's usually the hard part with him), and he slept when he was supposed to and overall had a blast! So it was definitely a good experience for the both of us!
Korver's birthday party was awesome! It was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed and we had mickey games, mickey cookies, mickey decorations, and of course a mickey cake! He was of course late to his own party because he was down the street sleeping at my parents' house but when he came to the park he was so happy and excited to see everything. Derek and I baked everything at the party and we were pleased with the outcome! His actual birthday is next week and I'm planning on taking him to the circus so hopefully it happens! He's grown so much and I'm so proud of him and so excited for all the things he'll learn throughout his life but it's also really sad because my baby is gone :( But more on him later :)
So last but not least our new car!!!! Derek had wanted to get rid of my good ol' chevy impala for a long time but it just wasn't the right time. So right before he left for work again we went to the nissan lot and got an 09 pearly white nissan maxima :) It is for lack of better words OH SO SEXY!!!!! Seriously! I'm in love! It has everything I wanted in a car and this list might sound silly to some but oh well..*ipod jack *big trunck *air vent in the back seat *sun roof *lots of cup holders *manual and automatic *rims *tinted windows
so yes it's everything both Derek and I wanted and Korver hasn't complained so I think he likes it too :)
That's basically everything for now, I hope to blog more but I know it won't happen haha I'll try though!!!

Enjoy the following pictures :)

The Easter bunny is real!!!!

Our celebrations started on Saturday morning where we went to the park and had an egg hunt! Korver is usually all over colorful things but for some reason he wouldn't pick up any eggs. So i had to hold it in my hand and give it to him and then he realized what he was supposed to do. What a fast learner! We only had him pick one egg because it was way cold haha Then he had his picture taken with the Easter bunny! He LOVED it! He was trying to turn around and grab the bunny's nose the whole time!  On Sunday, we started our moring by looking for Korver's Easter basket!! It was FULL of candy, clothes, and toys for Korver and daddy to share. Korv really enjoyed shaking the eggs with the jelly beans in them. He also loves eating the reese's eggs...well he only sucked on the wrappers and he liked that haha. After church we went to my parent's house where we decorated eggs and had a really fun egg hunt! Needless to say Korv passed out that night and didn't wake up until 9 am the next morning! He's getting so much better at sleeping through the night! He'll probably wake up 3 night out of the week but he's now sleeping in until like 9 am! What a sleepy boy we have

Our little family in the pool

A couple of weeks ago we went to Idaho for our friends Anna and Andy son's baby blessing. Winston was such a cute little boy! I met his big brother Glenn when he was about 8 months old and it was such a shock to me to see him be a 3 year old!! Time flies way too fast!!!! Glenn loved Korver though! Everytime he saw me holding him he would pat the floor and say "baby sit" It was so cute! While we were there we went to this AMAZING pizza place. It was called Flying Pie and it was seriously close to the best pizza I've ever had! Then that night we took the boys swimming! I was so excited to take Korver to the pool for the first time! But as soon as we stepped in the water I knew it was a bad idea, the water was cold!!! I decided to stick his feet in anyways and to see his reaction and he didn't seem to mind it, so we went a little farther and still no reaction from him. Right when the water hit his chest Korver started crying and I literally ran out of the pool! Poor guy! Lucky for us since the pool was so cold so was the hot tub so he splashed around in there for a little bit. The next morning we woke nice and early to get ready for the blessing. Andy gave a really good blessing and we felt very lucky to have been invited! Saying good bye was sad since we only get to see them about once a year, but it was a wonderful trip all in all :)

My beautiful baby and me :)

It has been 6 months from the moment I first held my beautiful son! Words can't even explain how awesome the last 6 months have been! He is such an amazing little boy! He has his 6 month wellness check in a couple of weeks and I'm so excited to see how much he's grown! So many things have changed in the last few weeks....Korver can now sit up, he loves rice cereal, he loves carrots, he loves to play and he is very good at telling you exactly what he wants! He's also a very hands-on little boy and wants to touch everything and he's willing to try new things. He always seems interested in cups when i drink out of them so i decided to let him have some milk in a cup and he just loved it! It took him a few tries to get anything but his eyes lit up when he realized what was going on. He is such an awesome little boy (not a baby anymore :( ) and gives me something to brag about everyday! We're going to the nicklecade with some friends tonight and i will definitely take some pictures :)
