Christmas 2022!

The most wonderful time of the year arrived!  Christmas!  After our Snowshoe trip the suburban needed a wash... It's fun going to the car wash!Image

Christmas season in full force...Elden tickling the ivories.

Another card game in the works!

Christmas Eve!  I was glad we could see my dad before his birthday.  It's tricky..his birthday is Christmas Eve.  I want to see him on his birthday but also want to just be home, so it was nice seeing him before. We had waffles that morning.  Cal worked Christmas Eve.

Cal had a break starting at 1:30 so we ate then.

Haley did the fun glasses with the sugar and cranberries.

That afternoon we delivered some neighbor gifts and our friend Josh Hunt came over.  We played games and read the Nativity story. It was a nice eveing and I'm glad Josh could be with us.

Time to get ready for Christmas day!

The kids were all downstairs...which only meant that Shanna moved downstairs, taking over Elden's bunk for the night.

The kids stayed up for a little while, holed up in the hallways and bedrooms behind a curtain. We got ready for the big day!  We need to start this process sooner so that we can go to bed before midnight!

Oh that morning we went roller skating!  The Whitings did a skate party in Harrisonburg which was really fun. We almost didn't go and we couldn't stay long, but I'm glad we went.

Christmas morning came!  We went to bed late and the kids were up early-ish.  They have to wait for me to "get ready" for the day.  They say I take forever, but it's only about 15 minutes.

Guess the kiddies were getting restless!

We read scriptures, had family prayer and ate.  Then the big line-up!  I told my kids they would get one present.  We did more gifts than that but they were things like food, or family games or puzzles.

We tried to get jumping pictures with not much success.

I also wrapped up their Kings Dominion pass card as we renewed them again this year for a yearly pass.

The kids also went on a treasure hunt and found out that they are going to Ireland this coming spring!

Shanna received a gymnastics mat, which sadly she already knew about!  It was delivered on a Saturday and the company logo was on the box. Ugh. Elden received a Traxxis Bigfoot truck.  Cal got a Gabb phone, but wasn't excited about that.  I thought he would like having his own phone but though the Gabb phone was a bit lame. We let him have the money from the return of the phone.  I think Haley received a special Pokemon set with tons of cards. The kids also each got a Lego set that they could put together.  We then donated them to the Haven House.

We stopped by the Peterson's on Christmas.  David and the older kids were at a movie so we chatted with Katherine and the kids played with Jack.  We heard the other Peterson kids weren't too happy when they found out that we were at their house and they weren't!
Image

I received some toffees from Katherin which was fun.

We enjoyed talking with Elder Robertson that day too.  He called early so we all opened presents together which was really fun! He visited some members that day and got to be with other missionaries.  Sounds like he had a wonderful Christmas.

It was a wonderful day of hanging out, watching movies, eating food.  We had nachos that evening and were stuffed!  Christmas is the best! And the day ends too soon.  Can't wait till next Christmas! Well, I can a little. I need my summertime first!
