MHS Cheer

Image

I am so proud of Ashlyn and her efforts with her cheer team. She loves cheer and she is so excited to try out again for cheer next year. That happens in a few weeks. Good luck, Ashlyn!

WOW!

I can't believe it's been a year since the last time I wrote. The kids are almost finished with another year of school. Time certainly flies!

Ashlyn is enjoying being a cheerleader and is planning to try out for next year's cheer squad. She is hoping to make the varsity squad. She spends every waking moment, that mom will let her, with her boyfriend. She is doing very well in High School and hopes to get another 4.0 this term.

Corissa is loving Jr. High and she is making a lot of friends. She continues to shine out on the soccer field. I am very proud of her dedication to soccer. She loves it! Corissa is great! She speaks her mind... that cute little free spirit of mine!

Michael is still very much into dinosaurs and has become an awesome artist of dinos. Last year for Christmas, he drew a picture of a dinosaur for every student in his class. He spent hours and hours on that project. He is in 5th grade and loving it. He seems to like school and loves to read. Of course, he would much rather be playing video games than anything else.

Bobby is so full of energy. He always needs to be entertained. He loves all kinds of sports, especially basketball, football, soccer... :) Every day after school you can find him outside shooting hoops in our driveway. He is in 5th grade and in the same class as Michael, which can be good and bad at the same time. But mom loves that they are in the same class.

Joey is such a great little student in first grade. He is a tremendous reader. Just last week he read 50 books in about 4-5 days because he wants to get this special award at school and that is a requirement. Joey loves soccer. He is excited to play rec soccer again this Spring. Here's an interesting fact about Joey: He has worn shorts to school everyday this year except about 4 times. He makes me cold every time he leaves the house.

As for me, the mom of these beautiful children, I have been keeping busy running these kiddos around town. It has helped that Ashlyn has a drivers license AND a car! Now she gets to help me take kids here and there. We have so much fun together as a family and we are making some great memories here in our home.

Well, I hope to be able to continue writing on this blog every once in a while. There is so much that happens in our lives. Talk to you later.

People Helping People

Last night I attended a single mother seminar put on by the organization People Helping People. It was wonderful. They do so much good to help single mothers improve their situations. It's amazing. I decided that I want to volunteer with their organization and see if I can help bring good to other's lives.

Life continues on...

I decided that I should probably start writing in my blog again. Mainly for me...

What is life like after divorce? I am still the same person. Actually, a much stronger person, I believe. I am a faithful and honorable woman who is trying her best for me and my children. I live in the same house. I pay all the bills. I do all the housework. I do most of the yardwork. I work doubly hard. I manage all the kids schedules. I continue to go to church and work on my testimony. I know Heavenly Father loves me. He didn't want Tim to leave us. I know Heavenly Father cried with me when Tim made his choice. But I have seen abundant blessings in my life for the past year. And I am so very grateful for my dear friends and neighbors who stood by me through everything. I am grateful for a loving Bishop who spent time with me and prayed with me and gave me priesthood blessings. He has since been released, but I know he was called as Bishop at the right time and I will forever be grateful to him for his love and concern he had for me and my children.

My children are doing fine. They are happy. They miss their dad. They see him at least once a week for about 4 hours. They have adjusted well. That's because there is a lot of love in our home and the spirit is finally here again. I love my children. I am sad that their dad made this choice. I am working really hard on forgiveness and the healing process. I have to do it for me... I hope my children know how much I care about them and love them and will always be here for them. Life is getting better for us. There will always be challenges. But nothing we can't overcome. I am a strong woman! We are a strong family! We will continue on enduring through this life of challenges and opportunities to grow...
