Hey yall! I know it has been awhile. I just couldn't bring myself to blog, but for some reason felt like sharing a little of what we've been up to in our neck of the woods.
We spent Thanksgiving with Lane's brother Trent and his wife Nancy and his parents along with Nancy's parents in San Antonio. It was a fun day with too much yummy food. I fixed a pumpkin pie, brown butter pecan pie, and coffee angel food cake. They were all delicious!
Out of about 15 pictures this was the best the girls would give us for Leelee and Paw.
On Nov. 14 I became Aunt Elaine again to precious twins. My brother and his wife Amy, along with Big Brother Charles welcomed William and Emma to the family! They are precious tiny babies and doing great.

Thank goodness she got the big side, otherwise we might have had tears.
So we have spent lots of time as a family out at a lease that has been in our family since I was a little girl. Lane was in a blind hunting as was my brother. Lane was hoping to shoot something, be it a deer, hog, or turkey. This little buck walked up to the tank where the rest of us were sitting around the campfire watching the kids play and getting ready to bbq. He watched us and ate corn, but was not scared away by our screaming kids. When Uncle Ray drove up on the Polaris he ran off, only to come back 10 minutes later. At this point I thought it would be funny if I was the one that shot something while the guys were out in blinds hunting. I had Dad get his rifle ready for me to shoot. I am not sure who was more proud, Dad or my husband, that I decided to shoot him as well as dropped him on the spot. I know Lane is glad we have meat in the freezer and didn't really care how it got there. He was proud of me, I could tell:) Dad was also sharing the story the next morning at the coffee shop. Word travels fast in a small town. I will say the thrill of the kill was more than I expected and I am ready to do it again.
Nice sized (not concerned about a big rack) and super fat since it was before rut. He ought to be tasty. We spent Sunday afternoon, grinding and packaging this guy.
Early fall trip to Eldorado. We have an annual weekend with Lane's old friends at his uncle's ranch. The kids had tons of fun playing in the puddles. They had inches of rain the morning we arrived. The weather cleared up and it was a fabulous weekend visiting and watching the kids play.

Life is good and God is great. I am blessed to have such a loving family-both mine and Lane's side. We have been making memories and I am just trying to raise these girls with the love of God in their hearts. I am thankful for His grace because days can sure be rough with a 2.5 yr old and almost 5 year old.
Hopefully, it won't take me 4 months to blog again!
