Who invited the dinosaur?

I found this scene so funny, so I thought I'd share. Missy is always spilling her food. I need to get a set of bowls that are boxed in so she can't do that! It drives me crazy. Lena Kate has put her T-Rex by Missy's bowl and it sure looked like he made the mess. I think I left it there all day. Missy wasn't sure what to think of that dinosaur eating her food, she doesn't share well.

We've had a great few weeks around here. First Lena Kate is finally potty trained and doing so great. We haven't had an accident in a long time! She even naps in panties, and her overnight diapers are usually dry, but not always, so we aren't cutting those out quite yet. I'm so proud of her. The sticker reward system seemed to really work on getting her to like the idea of going. I put a sign above her potty and she got a small sticker for #1 and big stickers for #2. She tells me when she needs to go no matter where we are and we never had a problem with her going in her panties after about 3 days. I'd have to say waiting until you think they are ready is a good idea. As much as I dreaded the mess, we really didn't have too many messes before it clicked with her. Although we did have one for the record books and both of us were covered in poo, as well as the floor and bathroom. I can still smell it on my hands, I think! UGH!

Secondly, it has cooled off slightly so LK can play outside more. This is great because our little house was busting at the seems by the end of the day with my 2.5 year old's excitability.

Where you can find us lot of evenings. Ignore the goofy look on Lane's face. He isn't so gracious about me taking pictures that include him.

Finally, we had a nice trip to San Angelo to see Lane's family and go to a baby shower for Chili and Carla. Baby Cinco (Charles Allen Cole V) is going to be here soon and we are loving him already. Carla looked so great at the shower and has a cute basketball belly. Both of our girls were very good travelers for the 5+ hour drive up and back. They sure enjoyed getting to see Leelee and Paw again. I love how Lena Kate says, "jump!" and Paw asks, "how high?" She has him wrapped around her finger and little Ainslee is going to have just as much persuasion I'm sure. He enjoys holding her, as does Leelee. Her Leelee just can't get enough snuggles.

I've still got the crochet bug and have made 5 different hats. I'm thinking I will sell some of the cute owl and dinospike hats for the winter, so let me know if you are interested. I love the earflap style so those have been what I've done so far. I love Pinterest for finding patterns and ideas. It sure has sparked the very small crafting bone in my body. I may even try to crochet a hat and diaper cover for Ainslee's Halloween costume:) Stayed tuned.

Pitiful, just pitiful.

A few weeks ago I hosted a Kelly's Kids party and LK and Ainlsee got some really cute fall clothes out if the deal, now if only we had a place to wear them!..good thing there is church:)

This may be one of my new favorite pictures.

It was 9/11 and I thought a red, white, and blue picture was fitting.

Ainslee is sure growing. She is 3 months old and we just love the sweet thing so much. She is a pretty good girl and just has a fussy spell for about 10 minutes in the evenings, we couldn't ask for much better! She loves to suck on her fingers and hands and I'm thinking she will find her thumb soon-she does like her pacifier but I'm afraid she likes her hands just as much. When she is tired and trying to go to sleep she pulls on her ears and the hair behind them. She likes to fall asleep with her hands on her ears or covering her face. She always has that, "Whew-what a day" look going on. Nights have been better, I think the sweet thang has hit a growth spurt and instead of sleeping until 3ish, she is now up before 1 for another feeding...and then again every 2 hours. Mama likes the 5-6 hours stretches, but this too shall pass and then they will be teenagers and I won't be able to sleep for other reasons!

Family time is good time

Mom had a party for Granny's 90th birthday-and I'll do a seperate post on that tomorrow, but it did provide some good family photo ops.

My sweet Lena Kate is sooo full of life. God grant me the patience and understanding so that I may raise her (and her sister)to follow you with all her heart and be a wonderful Christian that is a light unto others. Amen.

Cousins

Lena Kate just LOVES to play with her cousin Charles. She always says that he is her cousin and can't wait to play again. She gets way too fired up around him and tends to poke and push on him, and he in turn likes to tattle-I tell you they are just like sibblings! I love them both so very much, but-whew-they are a handful when they get together. Now that they are old enough to really play together, they can entertain each other for hours, but still require supervision since one or the other gets carried away at any given moment which usually leads to injury (physical or emotional) of some sort-all minor so far-haha.

Hide and Seek...not sure who they are seeking here!

LK LOVES to ride her Radio Flyer trike at Mimi and Papa's, so much so she gives
Charles a ride on the back!

I really think the "outtake" pictures are the best. She doesn't like to cooperate at the great age of 2.5 :)

90 YEARS YOUNG

This past weekend we celebrated my Granny's 90th birthday with a dinner with close friends and family at Mom and Dad's house. Granny is doing great for 90 and still is outside watering and getting all hot and dirty every day. Her memory is not so good these days but I guess by the time you are 90, some things are bound to not be as good as new. She just LOVES to rock Ainslee and is smiling and happy all the time. Granny is an amazing lady and we love her dearly. I could go on forever with great stories, but will let these pictures tell the story of the evening. I sure hope we have many more birthdays to celebrate with Granny. She was sick on Tuesday with what was likely a stomach bug, but it worried Mom and Uncle Ray so they decided to get her to the hospital. They ran lots of tests and they all came back good, which is a blessing. She spent the night for observation and sent her home with a heart monitor for 24 hours. She was told to stay inside and when Mom showed back up at her house to check on her, where was she? Outside dragging around water hoses! Mom mailed the monitor back to the doctors with a note that she didn't' follow orders so if there was a spike in heart rate it was because she was outside in the 110 degree heat the day after being so sick. You can't keep a good woman down, I guess. More power to her these days.

Doesn't she look great for a 90 year old lady? By the way, that is her natural brown hair-no dye needed! I have more gray than she does :)
