Santa Visit 2013

Gone is any drama associated with Santa visits.  The boys were excited and cooperative from the get go and it only took one take with no tears or grouchiness.  In an effort to avoid the crowds though, we went to see Santa the weekend before Thanksgiving.  However, apparently we weren't the only ones we thought that way and there was still a short line.

Fortunately, the boys are easy to keep occupied while in lines now.

Nathan loves posing for pictures and will ask us to take pictures of him.  Christopher, not so much.  I can just see in 20 years when Christopher asks why there are so many more pictures of Nathan than him as kids and we have to explain how he generally refused to pose for pictures.

Pictures from Halloween

This year, the boys chose to dress up as Jedi Knights for Halloween.  More specifically, Nathan dressed up as Obi Wan Kenobi and Christopher dressed up as Anakin Skywalker.  Originally, Nathan was going to be Yoda, but he wasn't a big fan of the Yoda mask and the school didn't want them to wear mask anyways, so it was easier for him to just be Obi Wan.  As you will see below, it was quite an exciting day for the boys.

To start off with, the boys had a Halloween parade at school.  Here they are in class before the parade.

There was then a party at school.  After school though, it was time for lunch at Yeye and NaiNai's restaurant.

After lunch, it was time to head home to help get ready for our Halloween Party!  We decided to have a party before it was time to trick or treat this year since the boys are usually super excited the hours just before it gets dark.

Nathan...er Yoda with Princess Leia.

Ms. Auri dressed up as Bat Girl, so Christopher decided he had to go dress up as Batman to start off with before he changed into Anakin.

One of the games the kids played was the touch game...a story was read about body parts, and the kids had to guess what they were really touching, which was supposed to represent the body part in the story.

A Halloween party would be incomplete if parents weren't wrapped as mummies!

Finally, balloon popping!  The kids were supposed to sit on them, but some of the kids (i.e. Nathan) figured out it was easier to just get a fork to pop the balloons which were filled with candy.

The boys had a very successful Halloween, but based on the after trick-or-treat pictures Christopher apparently had too much sugar as he decided to get super silly and dress up as bat girl.
