My Pledge to The Mother Earth

Our mother earth is facing serious problems and is at an alarming rate. Badly affected are our lands, seas and air. Our lands have been made into dumping grounds for millions of tons of rubbish and dangerous chemicals every day. Our tropical rain forest has reached a critical level of forest destruction. Our seas have become the disposal grounds for toxic wastes which have almost wiped out all marine life. Daily the air we breathe is polluted by poisonous gas emitted by motor vehicles and factories. We should act now to save our great mother earth before it is too late. If we wait, there may be nothing left to be saved later on.

So, I pledge to contribute my energy and efforts to save my great mother and keep the earth a green, clean and happy world to live in. I make a commitment here to reduce the global warming impact on the mother earth. First, I pledge to save water. I will use a bucket of water to shower and clean myself instead of under a running tap. I will close the tap immediately and properly when I do not need it because even a dripping tap can make us lose gallons of water a day. Second, I pledge to throw rubbish in a rubbish bin. I will try to go extra miles with my rubbish and I will never litter on other places except the rubbish bin. Besides, I pledge to cut down electrical usage. I will always turn off the lights, fans, television, and other electrical appliances when I do not need them. I just turn on them when it is necessary. By doing this, I can save my family money and the utmost important is to save our mother earth. In addition, I pledge to minimize the usage of air conditioner and refrigerator that release chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) that deplete our ozone layer, for instances, I open fan and window to enjoy fresh air and only open refrigerator when it is necessary. Next, I pledge to walk whenever possible if it is a short trip. I also support carpool by sharing a car with my friends to go to school or tuition centre. Lastly, I pledge to recycle, reduce and reuse some biodegradable products. I recycle used things such as old newspaper, aluminium cans, plastic bottles, broken glasses and the like.

We should keep in mind that all plants and creatures are God’s gift to us and they serve mankind, each in its own way. Henceforth, we have to take action quickly to save our mother earth before she falls sick and our planet loses its all inhabitants. A better tomorrow begins today, I shall make a difference from now on.

In the days, preceding the Chinese New Year, Families across Malaysia clean the house and then decorates the house with red lanterns. Malaysians also buy new clothes and prepare a lot of food for the Chinese New Year celebrations. On the Chinese New Year eve, members of a family come from far flung places to hold reunion dinners. In London, lots of Chinese people stay at there and though they cannot manage to visit their native place, they celebrate in their own style right at London.

During Chinese New Year Chinese, Malaysian families invite their relatives and friends over to their homes. We give guests gifts of mandarin oranges or kam, which symbolises gold or wealth. Malaysians give out ang-paus to the old people and the kids. Malaysians also practice open houses for their relatives and friends, who belong to different ethnic races. As for people celebrating Chinese New Year in London, early in the morning, people are greeted at Chinatown with food stalls and exhibitions. The 65 restaurants become lively and the Chinese dancers perform in them and food is served on first come first serve basis. Image
Among the major attractions of the Chinese New Year celebration in Malaysia and London are firecrackers and lion dances. My 1st Blogging Class in School

All 5 Alpha students are having blog now…It is a breaking record feat(in a way)in our school! Our first blogging class was in English period conducted by Madam Flowrese at the computer lab in our school. 2 students had to share a computer as there are only 20 computers. All of us were excited because we could surf the net. I sat with Suk Yong who needed my helps as she is the only girl who does not have computer at home.:(
The connectivity was rather slow and lagging because all 5 Alpha students were accessing the internet at the same time. Fortunately, I was able to create my blog easily. The problem came as I was helping Suk Yong to create her blog. It was not only lagging, her email address was wrong. Haiz...fortunately we were able to create her blog in the nick of time. The condition in the lab was not too bad(for me only) though Madam Flowrese thought it was in chaos. At least all of us managed to successfully completed our given tasks-to create our own blog. Yeah!
All of us have to blog in proper English or else our teacher will start to complain. Bye bye now. Anyway, I wonder if this is something like a diary? Blog=Diary? LoL!

Welcome to My Blog

Hello, everyone! I am here to share with you all about my first blog. This blog was created because it was assigned by my English teacher, Madam Flowrese. Now, this blog is for my English homework and actually i am reluctantly to write here but who knows someday and somehow I might grow to enjoy post something here to share with you all. I am going to write something and continuously check the dictionary (Chinese-English Dictionary) in my phone. However, I prefer to express myself in between the lines so, please analyse my words to understand my thoughts. Anyway...
Welcome to Pei Cheng's bloody warm heart with peculiar feelings and complicated brain system with different thoughts.
