My Essay on "Big Nate In A Class By Himself", by Lincoln Peirce

Image

"Big Nate In A Class By Himself" by Lincoln Peirce is a great book! Nate technically wants to set a world record or a record. He has a crush on a girl named Jenny, but she loves a boy named Artur who doesn't speak good English.
Back to Nate's life: he has two best friends, Francis and Teddy. He likes Francis better because he's known him longer than Teddy. When Teddy first came to PS 38 (Nate's school) Principal Nicholis told Nate to show Teddy around the school. In Science they dissected a squid and Teddy took the squid and held it by his nose and said, "Anybody got a tissue?"  Nate thought it was funny and he and Teddy started to laugh. They dropped the squid and some girl stepped on the squid and splattered guts everywhere.
There's a girl, Gina, that Nate hates. She always asks for more homework, she always talks about her perfect grades, and some of the only things she cares about are her good report cards and good grades.
Nate's dad makes pretty weird, healthy food and Nate's sister Ellen just cares about cell phones. She doesn't care about global warming and she wants a good boyfriend.
In the end Nate does surpass all others by getting seven detention slips, but I wouldn't be happy if I got seven detention slips anyway. I feel happy and sorry for Nate. I feel happy for him because he surpassed all others and I feel sad for him because he has to wait seven times longer than if he got one detention slip.
Well, I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to a lot of people because Nate is in 6th grade and I bet a lot of 6th graders can relate to Nate's life.

Letterboxing

I went letterboxing on November the 6th.  I went to East Woods.  My mom, dad, sister and I went to East Woods all together.

When you letterbox, you have to follow some clues.  The clues will lead you to something.  For example, at the second "Y" on the path, you will find a dead tree that looks like a pig.  It has three horns on its back.  Go to the third horn and count ten hands away from that.  Near that you will find a box.
Image
Inside the box there was a notepad and a stamp.  You had to stamp the stamp into your own book and write a note in the notebook.
Image
We found all five.  We found two "4s" because one of them was a replacement.

It was fun.  I hope I can do some again.  There are some in Essex and Williston and even in Colchester.  I might like to do one with my friend Sophia.  I think she might enjoy it and it was her dad who told us about it.
Image
It was a great day and lots of fun.  Afterwards we went to Moe's for lunch and I got a Moo Moo Mister Cow.
Image
I hope that those of you who are reading will try to letterbox someday.

The Unmatching Superheroes

At a place called Yins, they sell used toys.  Some of them you can get for a dollar or more.  I got these.  I have got a lot more over the time.

Finally it is in the Art Show

Image
For Kindergarten and First Grade, I never got my art work in the Art Show.  I was really excited to find out that it was in there.  It took two whole years.  Maybe in Middle School it will happen again.Image

Rainbow Good Time

I am going to put my action figures in to red white and blue for a website where you can do things for your toys. Then I asked my dad if we can do stuff even if it is not assigned and he said yes.  So I decided to do a rainbow with all of my little people.

Free Comic Book Day

Image

Today was Free Comic Book Day.  We went to the comic book store called Earth Prime.  I got a Green Lantern Heroclick, three Star Wars cards, and free copies of Super Dinosaur, Darkwing Duck and Young Justice.  Haley and I also bought some toys and some other comics.

It was a good day.

The Secret Soup

My soup is made out of a lot of spices.  What we did is add some noodles and carrots.  Me and Haley were the ones who made the soup.  We pretended that mom and dad were the President and the First Lady.  We served them nice and fancy with the dinner plates.  Then, I was the waiter and we served them Diet Coke for drinks.  That's it!
