I just finished watching 'Bowling in Columbine' yesterday. And I highly recommend everyone to watch it.
Yet another movie by Michael Moore. Just as thought-inspiring in terms of the revelation of truth as any other documentaries such as 'An Inconvenient Truth'.
Although the truth is quite subjective in recent days, with all the conspiracies going on, every negative thing going on still seems to be directed at the United States of America.
To quickly evaluate 'Bowling in Columbine', the movie is about the number of shootings occuring in the U.S. and the debate why Americans are so much more prone to shooting their own people than other countries.
And the common topic? Shootings occuring in schools.
I don't have to point out that the latest shooting that occured in a school was also in the U.S. -though it was done by a Korean instead of an American. But don't we all notice that all the shootings in schools occured in America? In fact, the youngest person ever to kill another person with a gun was only 6 years old. Yes. SIX years old. The boy shot his classmate with a gun - a gun which he found in his uncle's house and which he brought to school. The girl died. A mere six-year old girl. Maybe the boy thought it was only a toy. And like all toys, it would produce a harmless 'bang' sound and that was it. But this was a real gun, a loaded one. How can people just simply have guns lying around?

Oh. Just for comparison, the average number of people who die under a gun every year are as follows.
In Germany, 381. In France, 255. In Canada, 165. In the U.K., 68. In Australia, 65. In Japan, 39.
In the U.S.? 11,127. Seriously, don't you realise there's something wrong with this country?
In the whole of American history, the Americans have lived in fear.
They are afraid of everything. Practically everything. In fact, the Bush administration has pumped much more fear into the hearts of the Americans.
I must disclaim that I am anti-Bush before I carry on, because I will be making quite a few comments against Bush.
After all the information I have taken in, I believe that Bush took over the presidency with underhand methods. Yes, you could say that I might have been brainwashed by conspiracy videos, but as I said, the truth is subjective nowadays. Noone can say who is right and who is wrong because noone knows. But, what I hold are what I believe in.
Another thing I believe in is that the World Trade Center incident, aka 9/11, was a stage perfomance held by the Bush administration itself, at the expense of 3,000 lives, with the purpose of pumping more fear into Americans. How can the most powerful country in the world possibly be so afraid of every minor thing?

George Lucas could have seen this all along. In the epsiodes of Star Wars, he wrote: Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to Pain and sufferings. Pain and sufferings lead to the Dark side.
Forget the Dark Side. Let's look at the first and second lines.
How much anger is in the hearts of the Americans? How much anger can prompt people to shoot their own people? How much pain and sufferings are the families of the victims going through?

One day, you should take a look at what the Americans watch in their news. Deaths, murders, crimes, crimes and more crimes. Violence. The belief that there is something to be constantly afraid of is in most of them.
When Michael Moore interviewed an American, he said that he was constantly afraid of people committing crimes that will affect him directly. He felt that everyone else was dangerous.

Look at the Canadians. Most of the people interviewed said they did not lock their doors. When asked why, they said: Why is there a need to?
Some of them were even robbed before due to this, but still, they kept their doors opened. They believed that it was safe. It was a safe environment.

But the Americans? They locked their doors up so tight, yet they still keep guns under their pillows, ready to shoot anything that moves in the night.
Can you believe how much fear are in those people?

The U.S. are also always interfering when other countries have a war. What has it got to do with them anyway? Whoever that fights in this world, its something the U.S. has to take care of. Is it for their own benefits? Or is it simply to shoot anyone that can threaten them and make them afraid?

There's something really wrong with that country and its administration. Yes. I applaud the day when the country celebrates a new administration and a change to it. Its viewed as the most powerful nation in the world. But yet, it is not. Internally, its a disaster. The next generation of Americans need to learn to open themselves up to the people around them. Its the fear of crimes in them that is causing the crimes in the first place.

Sigh. Pity, pity. A country going to waste for all the internal problems it is facing. Still, their administration seems to be more interesting in bombing Iraq than anything.

"For everything a country can do, this one is falling into itself."

I was planning to blog.
But since the past events are over already, I think I will just let it pass.
To evaluate what has been happening in the past week in simple words...
I would say the camp was shiok and the choir concert was fantabulous.
Yea. And that ends my blogging about everything that happened in the past week XD

Well. Ms Leong mentioned something abt the responsibility of a blogger some time ago.
Cos apparently many people attacked the school on their blogs over the E-learning issues.
And she wanted to us to be responsible for what we blog about.
Ok I wouldn't say it was that bad. Most of the people just wanted to be constructive. Except that they phrased it wrongly. And you know how people nowadays prefer shortcuts instead of full sentences..

So if someone said 'IVLE suck', they are probably trying to say that IVLE is 'somehow unpredictably collectively knotty".

So I guess people aren't really poor bloggers. They are just politically inaccurate.

I haven't been updating my blog.. and I haven't blogged since I left for camp.
Cos I am in no mood to do so.
A lot has happened in the last week, but one thing hasn't changed.
I have been sick for 1 whole week.
And I am showing no signs of improvement.
I experience intense sore throat everyday.. and I have been living off painkillers for a week.
Hell. This is torture.
I don't feel like going to sch.
I feel like shit.
And god damnit.
The pain is killing me.

The cough is disrupting me. I am coughing badly uncontrollably.
And hell I can't make it stop.
I can't do a thing without coughing.

My temperature hits 38 deg everytime the paracetamol wears off.
I take panadol more times than I take meals.
I hit the maximum amount of paracetamol anyone can take in a day.
And if there's no limit I would probably have gone beyond it.

The symptoms are just getting worse and worse.
What the hell is wrong with me?

I have eaten one hell of medicine.
Anti-biotics, Chinese medicine, cooling tea, paracetamol, pills to counter fever.
And I ain't getting better.
NO. It just gets WORSE.

Can't this just get over with?????????
What the hell.

Argh omg noooooooo! >_<
I don't believe this.
I actually got a C for PW.
RAHH. one of the poor 15.1% who got C.
Omg la.
How can I get C for it??
I mean I ain't expecting to get a good grade but I tot I would get at least a B.
I must have screwed up somewhere.
Zzz.

And I thought getting B for Chi was a disaster.
Now I got a C for PW.
My 'A' level grades are gonna sux big time.

Putting all the hell aside, today I actually saw a rather disturbing sight.
A boy no older than 14 years old was walking to school.
And he was actually smoking while walking.
I was so shocked by that.
It reminded me of a situation which was highlighted in China.
A 3 year old kid was smoking 1 packet of cigarettes a day.
That was totally shocking.

What was worse about the boy I saw today was that he was actually walking with his friends to school.
And to think noone commented about him smoking.
If he thinks smoking is 'cool', I think he totally needs a new perspective.
Yea sure. Getting lung cancer and bad breath is sure cool.
But come to think of it, Singapore's policy to curb smoking has been working well.
I am seeing less and less of smokers nowadays.. so much that I was quite shocked to see a young boy smoking while walking to school early in the morning.
Sigh. What a pity to get addicted so young.

Alright pple. I am off to camp. Wun be seeing me till Sun night.
I will be totally drained by then.

Its a lousy week indeed. I hope the camp cheers me up.
Darn it.

Its been a lousy week. Which isn't over yet.
The stress symptoms I am experiencing have intensified greatly since the last weekend. I haven't slept earlier than 2am for the past 3 days.
My dinner times have moved to past midnight cos I need to find time to eat.
All in all, I am ultimately stressed and tired out.
And I have an upcoming camp this weekend.
With tuition immediately after the camp till night. No rest. No time to do anything else.

Haix. Its been a rather horrible week.
With a geo test to pia for, I haven't done a lot of homework.
Cos the rest of the time went to FOL.
And I am trying to pia wad I was supposed to have time to do.
Den things happening here and there are totally killing me.

I got no more energy to do anything else.
I want a break. But I ain't expecting one till the next next weekend.
So I am gonna have to live with it.
Napfa is on Mon. This week totally sucks.
I feel like I am totally gonna collapse soon.
Oh man. I am taking this rather bad.
I need a workshop on stress management.
But 1st. I need to arrange some time in my schedule to have a workshop. Zzz. What a bother.

I am currently suffering from severe short term memory due to the side-effects of stress.
Please forgive me if I start forgetting stuffs here and there.
Yes I am serious. Not joking here. April 1st is long over.
My mind can blank out in the middle of doing something and I can't recall what I was doing about 5 seconds ago.
Not to mention anything more than 5 seconds.

Today I was actually halfway to LT3 when I recalled the 1st period on Thur was Maths in 423. Its not the first time since something like this happened.
Last Sun I actually went for tuition one hour early cos I forgot what time my tuition started.
And just now I couldn't even remember what time Mon ended.
I thought it was about 4pm.
But come to think about it, actually Mon ends at 1:45.
I gotta remind myself about that.
And I thought there was Econs tutorial tommorow.
Apparently, I don't have Econs on Fri.
Something's really wrong with my memory these days.

Alright. After 2 days of excited learning(as Mr Lim says).. the conclusion is that e-learning failed.
I don't think I can finish it. I don't think I ever will. There's just too much to do in these 2 days. With the Sports photography FOL workshop, I only got half the day left to E-learn.
And IVLE is so slow that its nearly impossible to view a thing.
The multimedia files lag so badly I can't even view it without my browser hanging.
And a tiny message below says only Singtel and SCV broadband can view it. What rubbish.

*Sweeps the lousy IVLE system away*

Ok so for the sake of myself and many others, I dedicated my time to finding the actual multimedia files themselves. After some searching and with some luck, I managed to get the link to the files directly.
Woohoo. And here the story begins.
I began spreading it, but so many people wanted it, I decided to put the link up online.
And I put a couple of links. Then I put more. And more. And more.
The result was nearly a "second IVLE".
Page can be found at http://laixinchu.googlepages.com/mydownloads though I suspect many people already know.

Alright then. Hope that helped many people.
So if even the bees are working so hard, what about us?

Fri was good. Cos it was Good Friday.
I got woken up by my alarm at 8am but I slept till 9+
Heng my sis woke me up when she walked into my room.
If not I cfm go on till 1pm den wake up.

I realised Cathay too inflexible already.. Cannot book tickets thru phone, cannot book tickets thru Axs machine. Only got like 3 cineplexes...
So I went down to town at 9+ to go buy our tix for e outing at 4pm.

I heard Orchard MRT got this amazing 24-hour ticket dispenser by Cathay. So I went to try it out.
But the funny thing is..
1st: Select show
2nd: Select timing
3rd: Select seats
Where's the "Select cineplex"?
Later I kanna allocated causeway point how??

Heck. I walked over to Somerset.. not a very long walk anyway.
Its just past Taka, Ngee Ann and Mandarin Hotel only.

I managed to get the 5th and 6th row. Not bad alr. Half the cinema was already gone by last night.
I think its amazing enough to get the 5th and 6th row.
Cos by 12:30pm I checked back again. Whole theatre bought down. Including the 1st and 2nd row.
Heng I went down early ar.

So.. after estimating the time needed for people to come late, I arranged to meet up 45 min early.
Considering we entered the theatre exactly on time, 45 min was actually an accurate gauge lol.

Movie 1: Mr Bean's Holiday

One word, 4 letters to describe the movie: Diao.
And two words, 11 letters to add on: Where's Teddy?
Yep. The most commonly asked question on every forum.
Honestly the movie is not as funny as most of Mr Bean's shows used to be.
Most of the laughter just rose barely and subsided.
This is also the last show that the character 'Mr Bean' will be starring in.
Aw. Wad a bad end to Bean.

Still. It should be deserving enough to watch the last movie of Bean.
And if you have watched it, and you want the song from the credits and the chicken chase..
I do have it =))
Amazing song finding skills lol. Get the song from me directly if you want.
Its called 'Crash' by Matt Willis.
And I believe its one of the only English songs in the movie.
The rest are French I believe. The movie doesn't even have an official soundtrack release. Either that.. Or I can't seem to find it.

After that was dinner.
Nowhere fancy. Cos someone was desperate for food already.. So we jumped at anywhere with seats. And we went to the food court.
Every stall looks the same at every food court. Kinda boring.

A while later...

"Let's go take neoprints!"
"No, lets play cards instead. Why don't you all continue chatting?"
"Neoprints!"
"Ok ok fine.. one last game of bridge."

We found ourselves at the neoprints shop.
So in case you all are still wondering who I actually went out with, here goes:

Image

Haha. Acrodia. Our last outing was aeons ago.
I am not organising the next one. I might be too busy to in the future.
And too lazy too. Lol. Someone organise the next one okie?

After the neoprints, we all went up to the arcade.
Spammed game after game of Air Hockey. We had a lot of people watching us(the 4 guys) play. Cos our white discs were practically flying off the table lol. Too violent alr. And the game was super fast and intense. You see.. the best way to play that game is to apply the maximum force you can on the disc so they move at the fastest speed. Bear with me for a moment here =)
Force
= rate of change of momentum(over time)
= mass X rate of change of velocity(over time)
since mass is a constant, the higher the change of velocity over time, the higher the force exerted on the white disc

Conclusion: Hit the disc at super fast speeds. Dun need much force de. Just need speed.

The guys played 2 games, den I teamed up with poh sin to play against veron and kejia.
Poh sin too gentle alr =X
And I think I am too violent. Lol.

Den the guys played 1 more extreme game.
The score reached 8-8 and we reached final play. Lol.
Super tense sia.
After some flying back and forth, I zham-ed the last disc at superspeed into the goal.
Lol. The speed of the thing was incredible. < 1 second and it was gone.

Movie 2: Number 23

I dunno how we all got convinced to watch a 9pm show, considering how late it was running. But we went on anyway. The movie psychos people. And it really gets your mind to start calculating every single alphabet and number lol!
My number is 24. I am convinced =)
Lol.
It was a thriller. But thrillers aren't thrilling to me. Maybe cos I can handle all the blood scenes and gore quite well. Silent Hill was more thrilling than this one. Depends what you view as thrilling I guess. A few suicide and murder scenes and blood here and there isn't as thrilling to me.
I wanna watch 300. I heard its more 'thrilling' =X
I ain't a very violent-seeking person ok. But then some movies to scare yourself once in a while would er.. keep oneself active.

Everyone chiong-ed home after that.
I guess most of the people went beyond their curfews le.
Cos it was 11:30pm when we left.
My curfew is till the time my mom finds out I am not at home =X
Shhh. Don't tell her. Lol. I am a good boy =)

I met quite a few people today also. Met Johnson just before dinner. Met Zi Tao at the arcade. Haven't seen em in ages. I saw some other AJ people too. But I didn't know them personally. Who said the world was big?

Wanted to watch 300 which had finished downloading when I reached home.
But OMG ARGH it was in Russian!
Had to re-dl the whole thing in English.
Darn. That's gonna take ages again.
Oh well. I can't understand Russian without subtitles.
Next time better check the language before dl-ing.

Alright. That's it for now then.
I know I only got one photo cos I am too lazy to upload them. Wait a min. Actually I don't have any photos.
If you wanna see more photos, poh sin's blog has quite a few.
She uses pics more than words.
Cos a picture speaks a thousand words.
Since I got no photos, I will have to use a thousand words to make up for the pic.
Happy reading lol, if you reached this point that is.

"The worst trick to play on April Fool's Day is to tell someone you like that person and then say "Happy April Fool!". You might break hearts unintentionally."

Disclaimer: Nono I didn't play a trick as lousy as that. This is just a statement ok? No scandalous content. Totally nothing. Don't think too much into it. Just think more simply for once ok?
