Daddy Does Bedtime

My friends at Carter BloodCare called the other day to see if I'd be available to give blood. Now, the last time I went, they tried to draw the blood and had to "adjust" the needle 5 times without success! Ugh! I am not a fan of needles but give because I have O- (which is the universal donor) and am healthy enough to give. So, tonight I went, thinking they had one chance to get it right and that was it. Needless to say, they got it right and I was able to give. Meanwhile, Daddy and Lydia were left to fend for themselves at home. This included bedtime. - Mommy had already fed Miss Lydia and put her in her PJs - all they had to do was drink some milk and go to bed. This is the scene I came home to ....

Lydia's Fun New Adventures

I have an extra container around that was left from some cleaning out. When we bought it at Target, we put Lydia in it and Matt carried it to the checkout. Lydia loved it. When we got home, we pulled her around the house in it. She thinks it's the greatest. Here she is trying to put herself in for a ride :)

We're attempting to clean up our office. One of our "messes" is the piles of books all over the house. So, Matt is building us 7 more shelves in the office to help out and clean up. Lydia is busy helping Daddy.

She is especially good with the power tools.

Some Updates from the Weekend

Above is Lydia (sorry about the no pants :)) helping Daddy study. Daddy is helping do research for our Senior Pastor's sermons - of course we all know that Lydia does all of the work - I mean, look who has the highlighter!

Here's a glimpse of Miss Lydia's personality. While she does not talk, she does get her point across!

Lydia has had a busy weekend (or at least a busy Sunday :)) - Before church this morning, Lydia and I took a bike ride while Daddy ran alongside us. This evening, we all went for a bike ride - it was fun. We have a little "carriage" for her that attaches to our bikes. Anyway, she is asleep and Daddy and I will be enjoying a nice steak dinner in a few minutes - Yum!

Finally, Sippy Cup Success!!!!!

As some of you know, Miss Lydia has been refusing to drink from a sippy cup. Yes, she is almost 16 months old and has not wanted anything to do with the sippy cup. We have at least 5 different brands, convinced it was the cup. We've put milk, juice, water, and other fun things into the sippy cup, but when you don't drink, you don't know what's in there :) Anyway, she is in ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) for some developmental delays and the sippy cup was one of her goals. The therapist concluded on the sippy cup that it was a behavioral issue! :) My sweet baby girl! Anyway, yesterday I offered it to her yet again and she started sucking like a pro. I think she's been holding out on us. Of course, this morning, she would only drink out of the bottle. However, the rest of the day, she was only offered the sippy cup and she drank from it!!!! Yea, Lydia!! Here's some video footage of her great accomplishment. She likes to walk around with it - must be what the big kids at school do :) Anyway, enjoy!

Lydia found this large cup in the cupboard. She found that she could make some neat noises in her special cup. So, away she went around the kitchen trying out her new microphone.
