Riding The Wave

Pioneer Day '13
Our neighborhood puts on a huge BBQ (about 250 people) for this holiday. It's the highlight of the year with so many friends out. This year was no exception! The 5 of us had a blast!

Jessica and the Half Marathon
I think it would be rare to find a day more miserable, cold and wet to run a half marathon but run she did. We here on Marrwood Drive could not be more proud of Jessica. When she first started training a few months ago, she had more doubts that she would be able to run the 13.1, but she put her head down and started running. At first a couple miles a run, then more, then two weeks ago she did a training run of 11 miles. Yesterday, the 10th annual SLC Marathon was run, the first major marathon since the Boston bombings. It was touching to see all the tributes, signs and "Sweet Caroline" music playing.
We got up early to cheer mommy on in the rain. We ended up being able to see her at 4 locations along the run to offer encouragement and run with her too. The girls were awesome!
You can see how wet and saturated she is and this is mile 3.
Our ward runs the second water station and offered lots of cheering as she passed.
We practiced yelling "Run Mommy Run" for days.

She did it! We are just so proud of her and her accomplishment!
Oh, and we got a trampoline that we hope will provide many hours of fun (and exhaustion) for the girls and their friends.

Christmas Pre-School Program
It was Sofia's annual christmas pre-school program this past week and she did great! I love how they learn the songs, the actions and sing with such vigor!
Lizzie was entranced the entire program watching with thought in her head of next year when she'll be up there. Love these two!
